My parents used to pick me up from middle school in a red C4 ZR1. Wed hit the highway and mom ( or dad ) would turn the egine power key in the center console to "Full Engine Power". Most reliable lotus ever.

timimin lotus basically designed the engine in the zr1, look up LT5 engine, pretty sick technology for the time especially in a gm vehicle, 5.7 liter v8, dual overhead cams etc

That was quite touching. Me and my father have similar stories. We were driver (my dad) and co-driver (me) in rallies for some years and while on the road, each with his own car, he used to scold me for all sorts of things regarding miniscule details about handling the car. Ah, the memories...

That's some great dad stories. Your dad is pretty cool. My dad raced in the 60's NHRA. He loved his Hurst Cudda. He wasn't too bad with a rail either.
