Marty - playing guitar for 12 months now. Can probably keep people singing around a camp fire for an hour and a half. By the way - I’m 70 years old! I practice everyday at my local park. The little kids think I’m great. Thanks for your help. Would love to buy you a beer someday...
Hey Mate Just like to say thanks. I am 60 haven't played guitar since I was 14 yo "long long time ago" My daughter has had a acoustic guitar sitting in the corner of our lounge room for years. Two months ago I injured my leg and couldn't work. I was checking out some topics on you tube came across your lesson. I picked up the guitar listen to this song plus a few others including House of the Rising Sun. Practiced for awhile, with your easy teaching style I surprised my whole family one night with a repertoire of songs. They were astonished. Plus you have made having a busted leg go from being bored out of my wits to "Happy Days". Thanks heaps.
Update, late 2023, I think Marty has taught every guitar song in existence. I have yet to think of a song I want to learn, looked it up and RUclips, and not seen a Marty video at the top
I just love that first 40 seconds when Marty is jamming away. The facial expressions just make me happy😁🎸. I'd been jumping right into the song at the strumming point for a couple of years. Tonight I thought 'Marty will teach me the intro'. Much love from Australia Marty. Thanks mate😁👍🎸
Been playing guitar a long time. I'm at a moderate to advanced skill level. Love the way you go about teaching songs. Allows me to quickly learn new songs. I like how you get right into it and don't waste my time telling me a bunch of stuff I don't need. Thanks Marty.
Been playing guitar for about 4 years on and off never learning just playing by ear and started taking it serious ab a month ago and your channel has been a definite favorite thx so much Marty

Broke my radius in 4 places this past January and struggling to get that mobility back! With only a couple years of learning under my belt, I am so happy to have your easy style of learning! Looking forward to practising this song!
I love your lessons Marty, not only are they nice and easy to follow, they are entertaining as well. I’ve watched a few recently and the way you sing the chords is very effective in helping to remember the progression. Bonus points in this one when you sang “Do you remember, when Marty used to sing....
Picked up playing again after Not playing for 13 years. You're making it sooooo easy to get back into it. Thank you Marty. Btw love how you start all your videos.
Bro I used to watch your videos when I used to play the guitar. I haven't seen you in 10 years! It's great to see you're still going strong doing what you love. All the best and thanks a lot for your tutorials
Thanks Marty. I’ve been playing about 13 months. With your instructions here I was able to pick up the song very well in about 2 hours. Ready for a party.
Hey...just always pick you out of anyone for how to play songs on the guitar. I just want to learn so bad and practice almost daily-you make it seem easy. You’re an excellent teacher and I admire your enthusiasm and confidence. It’s contagious.
Marty, just wanted to thank you for your lessons. I am a beginner at 52 and I wasn’t very happy with the lessons I was taking when I accidentally discovered your video lessons and your channel. I’ve become hooked and your teaching style has really helped me make a ton of progress. Thanks man! You should get some sort of reward for making guitar playing so accessible. Also, let me know if I can pitch in financially in any way. I know most of your stuff is free and I did subscribe, but let me know if I can do more.
I've learned and progressed so much from all your tips, tricks, and knowledge you have shared with us! Best teacher hands down lol. I'm 65 and started playing from song books and various lessons when I was 12. I'm here now learning so much. If I had had RUclips and Marty then I'd be famous:)! Well maybe.
Hey Marty, I am 56 and have decided to finally learn how to play. Those high fret licks on the intro are tough. You make t look easy. Thanks for the instruction.
I was well into this lick when I ran out of fret board. I didn’t notice in the intro that you needed a cutaway. Great info anyway. Love all of your posts. Wish this channel was available 20 years ago.
Hi Marty, been playing for years and always got disillusioned due to lack of progress. I've learned so much more watching you for a couple of months. Happy playing again and getting better every day. Many thanks mate. 👍👍👍😊
Who the hell gives a harmless, helpful video like this a thumbs down? People who hate their lives In sure. Awesome tutorial man, thanks. Just subscribed. Picked up a pair of guitars a few months ago after not playing for 13 years. Played for 13 years before that. Back in my day, I had to learn by tab. This is so much more fun nowadays having someone just show you how. You taught me how to play Yellow Ledbetter again in the first video I saw of yours. I wasn't even looking for you again when I searched Brown Eyed Girl, but found you here and had to subscribe. Got a feeling you're going to be my new tablature, lol
Hmmm! Always good, every single time, I have been playing with guitars for thirty years and Marty produces something fresh and unexpected week in week out. Thanks for this!
Marty I have to confess that I have been working on this song for about three weeks or more trying to learn the first part of the song. Its not been easy since I am a beginner and I have thought about quitting this stuff... however seen the way you play works as a motivation to keep up until I manage to learn this song all the way! Thank you so much for making the videos and I would like to know if you have any advice, like how many hours should I practice or if I should do spider legs before trying to play the tune... anything works for me

Brilliant Marty and thanks. 3:00 I'm just marking where you demo two fingers on the intro rift so I can jump back to it because I am having trouble getting it. Hope you don't mind. I see the trick is to change middle finger for ring finger on the B string. It may sound simple but it wasn't for me. So cheers for that!
One of my favorites broken down. It will take practice for that intro doe sure, but after 30 minutes of working on it, I'm getting there. You are awesome Marty. Thank you 🙂
I have been trying to figure out highly suspects acoustic version of vanity. It sounds so amazing ! Hey Marty. Great Iridium show. Great lesson on "Van the man" Brown Eyed Girl. How about "Into The Mystic"
I have been trying to figure out highly suspects acoustic version of vanity. It sounds so amazing ! I've got some if it down.. but he does some really interesting little tricky things and I cannot fur the life of my find the tabs for it.. let alone a video breaking it down like you do. I think you'd have fun with it and allot of people would appreciate it! Please hook us up! You're awesome !! Thanks!

Another Great video by the Great One… Marty Shwartz!
Beautiful playing and voice!!!
Marty, thanks for all the lessons. I've been playing for four years starting at age 58 and learned from watching you. If you could find it in your heart to do a lesson on the solo from the song Aime by Pure Prairie League, it would be wonderful. I can't find any good instructions on the web. Thanks for all you do.
I love your videos! I don't know how I would have learned guitar without them!
Joey Young I straight wouldn’t have! Lol he’s amazing!!
