I literally stumbled across you about 20 minutes ago, Happy days :) I traditionally react in the opposite way a tutorial anything or anyone would look to engage in a student as well as as much as I love it I usually quickly decide nope too hard too confusing for me..... You though sir! From an adult male on the wrong side of 40 just starting to try and teach myself, thanks to you it all makes sense, seems acheivable, sooooo much easier and no longer something that is out of my reach and too hard, the various approaches and techniques you include and advise, its something I look forward to, am excited about and fun. Thank you so much, time for a Moondance :)
I love that you also teach the number system here as well. Hope you don't mind a keyboardist hanging out and learning Chords for the keyboard. Learning a lot here.
Hey Dave, was trying to find good lesson online for Billy Joels "Anthony's song" (moving out). Haven't found anything too helpful. If you have any interest in learning the song and maybe giving a lesson it would be greatly appreciated. I know translating from the piano to the guitar is no easy task. Plus, I'm sure it's a fun song to play once mastered. Either way thanks for all the work you're putting into these videos not many people out there are breaking things down so well as you are my friend keep up the good work!
I’m confused and hope I don’t put my ignorance on display. If the intro riff is in 6ths, we’re starting on G and B, which is thirds and the entire intro seems to be in thirds. What do you mean by sixths? Wouldn’t sixths be G as the root and the sixth would be E? Thanks for a great lesson.
Finally.. someone explaining things in a way I can follow and understand as a beginner.. thank you!
David, you are one of the best instructors on the internet.

Love your lessons, you’re very intuitive about what the beginner student needs to know. Thank you.
I just wanted to share with you that your lesson here actually helped me to learn what I needed to play this on keyboard.
love you man. You're a great teacher.

Again thanks David. You say Van Morrison plays it at 150 BPM what do you actually play it at?

You are correct about G root and E.
@@oldmal60 yeah, I was really hoping someone would jump in and explain that. David?
Depends how you look at it (1)B, (2)C, (3)D, (4)E, (5)F#, (6)G……6th up or
(1)G, (2)A, (3)B….. 3rd up
I'm pretty sure for the D use a D7.
