I am a part of another group of guitar beginers again . After our practice session yesterday we agreed to go out for brunch . At the brunch the conversation changed many times of course . One of our peeps in this particular group ( a 70 something year old retired lady school teacher ) wanted to source a tutorial for Brown Eyed Girl. I verbally passed along your channel. Then i played your vid for Brown Eyed Girl for her in the restaurant later after we were just sitting chatting away . She mildly exclaimed , "Oh i have seen her" 😁 ! She doesn't do much internet apparently. Granted she is in her 70's . So just to be sure she goes over the video , i E mailed her the link to your video for Brown Eyed Girl 😁😁 If it is not already a credential , you can add musical therapy for seniors to the list today . 😊
This is so wonderful, thank you for sharing my lessons with other fellow guitarists 🙏🎵 such a lovely story to read! It made my day, really happy to be able to share my love and passion for music with so many people worldwide 🙏 and what a lovely comment at the end of your message about music therapy 🙏🎵 much appreciated!
very well covered. I loved the fact I understood the into riff that sounds great and having the alternate of chords for intro. The diagrams throughout the video were clear and coherent especially the finale when playing the whole song. Thank you

Another awesome lesson! 👏👏👏 It’s people like you that make music enjoyable and life worth living. I am a recent subscriber and I am so thankful I came across your channel. 🥰🥰🥰
Good demo. I've loved that song for decades. I never attempted that guitar solo, but you showed how easy it is. Thanks. I'll be adding that to my song list. The la la chorus gets everyone singing alone. I'm going to learn that cool bass solo. I've always loved that too. How many songs have a cool bass solo? My Martin D-18 doesn't have a cutaway like your Taylor.
Back when I was first learning to play, I would have loved to have found a teacher like this! I have to add though, I would have had trouble concentrating as this woman is gorgeous !
Hi Schalk! 😃 Wooo hoooo YESS a challenging song for sure (especially that picking part!). Hope you have had a lekker start to the year- My hubby and I are going to watch Schalk Bezuidenhout (the other Schalk 😜) comedy night next weekend here in Dubai. So excited!
You probably shoulda told us “Your guitar has to have a cutaway body for this song.” My Martin D-18 lacks a cutaway, but luckily my 1969 Mosrite hollow body electric does. Great demo for a great song. You rock. Thanks.
Yeah, I guess so! This song is super difficult to play without a cutaway. Glad you had another guitar there with you that works ⭐️ Thanks so much for watching! 😊
Happy to hear another truly great lesson. I am able to play several great songs due to your lessons which are fun and effective. Keep a Rockin 🎸 I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for great teacher to let Amber show you the way.

The only tough thing about this song is that it requires us to play so high up on the neck! Not the most comfortable thing to do 🙈🙈🙈 but well done for trying Dave 👏🏻 🎶🎸😎

Great lesson! You should note you really need a cutout guitar to play the intro that high up. There are some variations out there that don't require one.

Hi! I think that choosing a guitar is such a personal decision. If you are looking for a wider neck, then a classical guitar would be the obvious choice, but I know you have said you want to avoid a classical guitar which is understandable for the style of music you probably want to play is more contemporary stuff. My advice to anyone when they ask about which guitar I recommend: I always say you need to play as many as you can in the store. Feel the weight/size hear the sound/tone. All important factors. I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful! Maybe go and spend some time in your local guitar store and get a feel for what you’re looking for 🎶🎸
Try using 1st and 2nd fingers together to strum..and pretend your holding a pick. Its a very natural sound. The second finger will help with the upstroke
Great advice already given! Yep, pinching your thumb and index finger together as if you are holding a pick is what I often do if I don’t want to use a pick or am alternating between finger picking and strumming. 🎶

Oh my goodness 😂 I am happy to tell you that these jeans don’t have a zipper, but have buttons. I know it looks a bit like there is a gape, but I can assure you the buttons are all done up 😅

@@ironman-vx1qs aww thank you! That is so kind and encouraging 🙏🙏🙏🎸🎸🎸 I know that my lessons resonate with the right students ⭐️🙏
Some of us need slower cadence of teaching. Good pace for my learning. Just came across your channel and appreciate your style of teaching.
@@markturner3821 just the message to make my day thank you Mark 🙏🎸 about to jump into filming some new lessons and that’s just the encouragement I needed ⭐️
No idea how to do a RUclips tutorial.
All you need is a working camera and you’re good to go 😊 good luck!

LMAO .....
Love it ! !
Just FYI, it’s “going down the Ol’ Man” (a reference to the Mississippi River.
Hi Steve, oh this is interesting to learn! I didn’t know, thanks for pointing this out 😃
Zzzzzz….so slow….play the piece at least half way so we know you can play and what it sounds like….then break it down into the verses and choruses …. Please
Hi Doug 😊 I know my lessons are not for everyone. There are tons of other guitar teachers on RUclips who have what you are looking for 😃🎶 all the best
Your method for playing the 4th bar of the intro is the third way I've learned it. I like it best! There's something to be said for economy of motion. ;)
Woo hoo I’m so happy to hear 😃🎵 glad I helped you get a good handle on this song
Amber I'm sorry to tell you this I'm not trying creepy or rude but your zipper is down in the first part and later part of the video.
Oh my goodness 😂 I am happy to tell you that these jeans don’t have a zipper, but have buttons. I know it looks a bit like there is a gape, but I can assure you the buttons are all done up 😅
First record I ever owned, little flexible 45. I was 6, I think
Such special memories 🤗🙏🎸
please don’t give up on your day job. Your playing is good but your singing is terrible 😂
For your peace of mind, I won’t give up my day job 🤣
You are such an amazing guitarist and teacher! Don't you ever make a mistake? Lol! Thank you for your wonderful lessons. I really enjoy watching you!
The music major education really stands out doesnt it 😊😁
Hi Robert 😊🎵 thank you so much! What lovely kind words! Really appreciate your support 🎸
Great lesson and very easy to understand. Thanks for all of your hard work. I love learning these great songs!
Thank you so much for watching Johnny 🎵🎸 I’m really glad you enjoyed my lesson 🙏
So what am I supposed to do if I dont have a cutaway guitar for the 12, 13, 15 part??? So much for "goodbye to frustration and hello to fun"!
This is how the original song is played, sorry that it frustrates you 🤷🏻♀️ technically you can play this on a guitar without a cutaway, it’s just not as comfortable. Good luck!
@@thestellarguitarist Everything is frustrating for me right now. Ive been hacking at learning this guitar for years now. This song looked so promising until this little snag. Oh well, not your fault. Thanks for the encouragement.
@@pathfinder1273 I’m sorry to hear you are feeling so frustrated 😣 in all honesty, the intro riff to this song is not easy to play at all! Playing the guitar should be fun and relaxing 😌 so I’d 100% suggest not getting down by what you are struggling to do and find a song that you will be able to play! Tomorrow I’m releasing a really nice lesson, I think you will love it! 🙌🎶
Great teaching. I am intermediate. Yes I know the songbut I never saw it as well taught. Intro timing and all.
Hi Eric 😃 thanks for such a lovely compliment, I am really glad you enjoyed the lesson, from one guitarist to another! I appreciate it! 🎶🎸
Thank you from Cape Town
Hi Leon 😃 ahh I’m originally from Cape Town too 🇿🇦 thanks for tuning in!
Great video. Really clear instruction and paced well to follow for me. Thanks!
Hi Matthew! Glad you enjoyed the lesson! 😃🙏 thank you so much for tuning in 🎵 🎸

Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked my lesson 🎸🎶
I almost forgot about this channel, but glad to have found it again .
Yesss! I’m glad you have rediscovered my channel too! 😃🎵🙏
Excellent step-by-step instruction!
Thank you so much! 😃⭐️🎸 much appreciated!
Another great lesson Amber... Do you perhaps have the chord sheets that you show on screen during the playthrough available for download somewhere? also, my next song suggestion is "Let her cry" by Hootie and the Blowfish
Hello! 😃Great, glad you enjoyed the lesson! I only provide the chords/lyrics/TABS for all the Stellar Academy students who enroll for my program. You Can check the course out here! thestellarguitarist.com/thestellaracademy Once inside the course, you receive the song sheets each week when I release the song on RUclips. 😊 And I've taken note of your song request too 😎
I enjoyed your lesson very much. Very well put together and it covered all different sections of the song. You have a real knack for teaching guitar that really keeps my attention. I will be Subscribing to your channel. I will be adding this song to my playlist.
Hello Larry 😊 thank you so much! That’s so awesome to hear! I really appreciate your kind words and subscribing to my channel! 😃🎵🎸
What a great lesson I think the best I have seen love the song and will be playing soon thank you for the share ,love your voice also ! 🎸🎸👌👍✝️🙏
Hello Mike 😃 thank you so much for your kind words 🙏 I am so happy you enjoyed my tutorial! Thanks so much for tuning in and for taking the time to comment 🎵
Some of the comments prove you can't please everybody all the time. I've been playing for 40 plus years and think your instructive style is brilliant for newbies (the target audience).
Hi Douglas, yeah - can’t win everyone over with my teaching skills it seems 😂 there’s always going to be someone who complains 🤷🏻♀️ I really appreciate your kindness and positive feedback! I’m all about being kind and sharing positive energy here on my channel so thanks for being part of that!
Thank you so much, you make playing so easy. Thank You.
I’m glad you enjoyed my lesson 🎸 thank you for tuning in 🎵✨
