Hi! I'm An Scott. I'm a happily retired 70 year old woman with my “golden years” on the horizon, living the “good life”, whatever that is on any given day, with my fun husband Jeff, and our “bossy” little Yorkie, Bella.
In just a few months, in April, 2024, when my husband retires, we are moving from the SW Florida, in the good old USA to Nice France to live out our “golden years” on the sunny Mediterranean coast of southern France, in Nice France.
Moving from the USA to a foreign country is no small “project”.
SUBSCRIBE, FOR FREE, to my channel and as we progress through the steps of doing that, you’ll be able to follow along through each stage of our preparation and then catch up with us, as we settle in to our new life. We might even have some information you’re going to need if you’re also planning a move to France (or the EU)
For now, come with us as we embrace our days and nights living everyday as though there is no tomorrow.
I hope you’ll subscribe to my channel, join our Facebook community, connect with me on social media and share your thoughts and comments here or there.
If there are any topics you’d like to see us share or “visit” with you, please be sure to let me know! NOTHING IS OFF LIMITS! (Check out my past videos to see some of my most eyebrow raising videos, that happen to be my most popular) I’m happy to talk about all of those things us “older” women think about but rarely say out loud. So feel free to send me suggestions in the comments, always.

No. I doubt that will happen. Hopefully our hair stylist will move nearby in the future (she is hoping to have a place in S of France one day) and I'll get her to fix me up. Until then, when the ones I have are gone, they are gone...

    🍎 An and Jeff,
    Beautiful, cloudy, windy day!
About your tinsel hair, it's definitely very pretty, but we would rather them in darker colorful colors. You have nice hair, but we definitely don't like white hair because it makes you look 20 years older and women don't get away with it, men can. Your hair color needs a new makeover either the shades of different blondes on the yellow side, or even better more on the gold side of blonde. Yes, I went to beauty school in San Francisco when I was a teenager, so I know all about hair coloring. It's just the way humans are when they see a woman with white hair, their brain accepts it as oh, she is at least 75 years old. If it's on the blonde side or the red side, that's a whole nother story where people will say she is about 50 years old. I think the white hair is not doing justice for you. Definitely you need dark brown mascara, not black as it's too harsh with your white hair if you want your eyelashes to look more natural and not like false eyelashes.
We almost fell off the couch laughing when you showed us the very dark, black, low light restaurant where you showed us your meat platter with different cuttings. It was quite funny to us because it looks so much like a mouse trap, literally! Can you imagine a family of mice seeing a platter like that with meat hanging for them to pick, choose and refuse! Since we're vegetarians, the main course is where we lost our appetite! You also meantioned some older men will ask you about your hair, because I guess they're thinking you look like one of those pole dancing women in one of the Las Vegas casinos! We have a friend that we lived with who was a showgirl and worked at the famous Ballagio hotel. Of course she was on the skinny side. Waiting to see your grand finale for Nice France!
    Happy Holidays!
    Au Revoir!☃️🎅🎄

Thanks for your note and thoughts. To clarify, I don't have white hair. Must be the lighting making it appear that way. It is naturally what we used to call dirty blonde and for all of my adult life, it has always been shades of light or pale blonde. I've had highlights, low lights---I like it the pale blonde color it is. I would not feel like myself in another shade. It's that simple. I have darker wigs if I want a change...a lovely dark brown, a deep purple, a nice auburn, another with shades of blonde and light browns. Although --I may sell the wigs before our move. I actually hope my hair does turn white one day. My late mother had white hair in her later years. And it was a creamy white, lovely. She stopped having the expense of coloring it something else. And I'd love to save the expenses of hair color.

      🍎An, beautiful sunny windy day!
Everyone's choice of color in their hair, other people will determine from their hair color how old they are, it doesn't matter who you are. Only if you're a teenager or in your twenties and thirties, people will assume your age. But because of the popularity or fashion of any rainbow color looking hair, even teenagers will dye their hair pink, purple, green or blue and so hair coloring is a booming market right now like never before. Even your color that you like that's snow like white looking, you say it's on the blonde side, but on video it looks like your hair is white. So use whatever color you prefer.
About lipsticks. Shades of red lipstick is only ok for people in their twenties or thirties because it makes older women look older and men in particular don't like red lipstick. My husband will wipe off the kiss on his hand because he says he can feel and taste the lipstick when he kisses me! So I only wear nude color lipstick sometimes. I think women that wear a lot of red shade lipsticks look like call girls because when they speak, all you see is these red lips that's quite old fashioned looking. If you ask nine men out of ten only 1% will say red lipstick is ok. So it's only women that like lipstick, not men. Just wanted you to know. Men will also say women with a lot of red lipstick reminds them of women in bars and night clubs. I don't think red lipstick is classy looking. I can't think of any other way to put it, so it's a big X for me and I wish I knew years ago that men don't like red lipstick. My husband has to teach me about red lipstick!
      Happy Holidays!🎄☃️🎅

@@chandeliers1022once again, thanks for your thoughts. I know you want to insist that my hair is white--and that's ok. I know what color it is. So, you'll need to just accept that it is the bright lighting that must make it appear white on your computer or cell but it is definitely NOT white. It is pale yellow blonde and the silk threads in my hair, are not as apparent, in everyday life as they were on this video. The video was made to show the hair tinsel, not as a beauty video about me. The threads are very subtle and I often lose a few over the course of a few weeks, particularly after putting on wool hats and taking them off, when we were in France over the last few weeks. On the red lipstick, I vary between reds and hot pinks, by preference. Those colors look best with my skin and hair and brighten my eyes, in MY opinion. And I have to be happy with the way I look first and only. My husband never complains about my lipstick (sorry to hear about what your husband does if he can feel or taste your lipstick. That's awful. No man has ever done that to me). Most of my lipsticks are long lasting, blotted and don't transfer on my husband unless he catches me right after I put it on. And sometimes he doesn't care and will kiss me anyway. He wears the "red or pink" lips proudly. One of our favorite local bars, here in Naples, is a gay bar. While none of us is a "member" of the group, we have lots of friends there. A smear of lipstick on a man here or there, is no big deal. LOL. He has never once told me that I look old fashioned, or like women in bars...although, often I am in that bar or a romantic cocktail lounge-with him. My lipsticks are usually the newest colors, mostly from Chanel and Dior. You seem to have this urge to educate me on hair and makeup. I'm good. Really. While I appreciate your thoughts and opinions, I don't agree with all of them and most importantly, I dress for me, not men, at this point in my life I don't care if people know how old I am. For a 70 year old, I think I look better than many. My husband tells me almost daily that I look "hot" when I'm dressed and ready to go out and that's all that matters. I'm not trying to attract other men. Again, I appreciate your thoughts, but I'm going to continue doing me, the way I want to do me. All the best to you and your husband. Happy Holidays.
