Bought the sonatas and partotas many years ago in a rendition by Itzhak Perlman. But listening to this rendition by Kyung-Wha Chung, I realize she captures so much better the eternal beauty of these pieces. Saying this is brilliant is an understatement.

Just listened to this live in Carnegie Hall Thursday night! She played BWV 1001-1006, still extraordinarily powerful and profound, i sat on the first row, so i got to be as close to her as possible and worshiped her of course! Her violin voice is the fullest and the most moving violin sound i have ever heard! At 69 years old, she still displays endless youth and energy ... ...She will be my favorite violinist as always!
