BEYOND THE PAIN: Gunny's Story | a FRAMEQUEST documentary

My biggest project to date is out! A huge thanks to ‪@gunn_thpd‬ for sharing her story and making this documentary a special project.
One year ago I decided I wanted to do a documentary and had to find someone with an inspiring story to tell. Gunny and I met for the first time at piano lessons more than 15 years ago and since then I have seen her journey on overcoming challenges and turning them into success. Which was also the reason to why I asked if she'd be up for sharing her story - and a big project was born!

Ingunn "Gunny" Wiken is a dietitian, nutritionist and performance coach who moved from Norway to Australia to pursue her passion for fitness and health. What has now become a business and a thriving job had its start in a much more challenging time. In middle school Gunny went through an eating disorder which saw her spend time at the hospital, but as she said herself: "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger". She fell in love with a healthy way of looking after herself through fitness and soon embarked on a journey to her new home, Australia. After studying in Australia, she realized that this was her new home and her life moved to the other side of the planet.
Her love for fitness and health grew and she picked up more and more knowledge, studying various subjects to specialize in everything health and performance. She also met her other half in Australia. In 2023, they were blessed with a pregnancy, but in a very sad turn of events, she miscarried. Even through a devastating time, they overcame the heavy aftermath and found something special together.
These experiences together with the knowledge she had acquired through her studies laid a good base for her business and her vision. To help people reach their health and performance goals without feeling like they are sacrificing one or the other.

Director's Notes:
This was a really inspiring project. Even though I had been close with Ingunn while she was going through some of the things she talks about, the whole documentary really made me understand the reality that she was going through at the time.
This was also my first documentary and a lot went well, but there is also room for improvement! We filmed this over 4 days, but did a lot of planning before and filler content later on. Since Gunny lives in Australia and I am based in Norway, we had to schedule a few calls before she actually arrived in Norway, but together we were able to shape the documentary.
