Michael McDonald has one of the most distinctive voices of the 80's. I just love him. Check him and Kenny Loggins out in This is It. Another legendary distinctive voice. Long Train Running is another amazing Doobie Brother's song.

@@SK-lk3iu Kenny wrote it for his father who was dying of cancer at the time as an inspiration to keep fighting. Kenny's voice and Michael background vocals are PERFECTION.

Michael Mc Donald , OMG his voice gives me chills, he is perfect, ... just a few with recognisable voices from the minute they start to sing , Willie Nelson, Jon Andersom from Yes ... just fantastic ... . . And this song about a deluded guy who thinks he has a place in her life still. , but can't accept its over .

Doobies had a few lead singers ... all great but I really loved the Michael McDonald years. FYI he helped Christopher Cross with his career & sang on a few of his songs. Check out " Ride Like The Wind" He backed Chuck Berry at times, had a gig with Steely Dan. Later he went on to write many songs with Kenny Loggins. So much more.

Maybe Michael’s best with The Doobies! He recorded just as good slot better during his later solo career. You really would love their older songs too like Black Water and Chiba Grove!
