I swear, Daryl Hall's like a fine wine......he's gotten better with age.
Oh, I sooo agree!!:-)
He's 65 here! He was born on October 11, 1946! I am a fan indeed! ( I was born in 1963)...*..H&O Have 8 #1 songs!!
SweetDreams706 ditto on that better thing!
amen to that!
SweetDreams706 72 years old?...wtf and still got his own teeth.
I'm a 53 year old black man from the streets and this joint is hot. Have always been a fan!!
Joe Bee I'm a white dude from the woods and I'm picking up what you're layin down.
from the same streets, but a whiteboy, same age, and i hear the hotness of which you speak sir, that is some tight philly shit right there. i missed it, if i knew it was on ch 6 i would have tuned in, maybe next time as we can expect America's Backup Band (but Philly's first) The Roots, to be involved in many Philly 4th of July concerts to come [no doubt]
I'm a 59-year old guy with a joint. It's so hot, I need a fan.
@@canadianroot Yes indeed. . The joint IS smoking and its FULL of fans. Peace.
The heat Daryl Hall lays down fanned the globe. 53yo white guy from the other side of the world and I have been feeling it since they were top of the charts in the 80's. Sara Smile peaked here in NZ at #22 in 1975.
Hi ! My name is Rock and Roll. When I was young no one believed me that Daryl Hall and John Oates were as influential as any Recording Artists, including the biggest names in the Music Industry early 70's.
They have done more for MUSIC and the Love of Music than any artist has in 20 years.
I love these sessions. I so wish I was young again. GOD Bless Daryl and Musicians at the House.
I'm in my 60's and can attest he's still as strong as ever . So glad I experienced the 70's music scene .
So agree - the music of Hall and Oates is a part of my life like no other. Songs from the 70's sounding like new 50 years later. When music is gold from the beginning is shines on forever.
Yesssss
Amen!
He was hot then, but his flame has died and I’m in my 60s so remember him also! He needs his partner. Why is he always absent? Why does he always have to show off solo with out oats?
Oh he's stronger. Go review the earlier days and you'll hear his voice struggling a tad. Now he easily brings out his inner soul man with so much glory.🎉
Remember young folks, Daryl broke in to the scene when you had to have real talent. He may not be the latest thing, but he's earned his spot with the greats....RaY Charles, Aretha, Bonnie and the long list of incredible song writers/performers. Consider yourself lucky that we're still getting the best of the best in this over procuced age of music lacking backyard mojo. Queen, you have a great sound, loved it.
"overproduced age of music lacking backyard mojo," I'm loving that 🤘
Ugh, hyperbole thy name is ye.
Totally agree with that comment
Yeah and he’s still hot!😉
I’m in total agreement with everything you wrote, gateswf.
Daryl Hall is amazing.. I like Hall and Oates in the day.. but all these later shows and live from Daryl's house, he really shines through as a brilliant musician..
Just the harmonies he throws in on other's songs make you realize how high his music IQ is.
Agreed. And one thing I love is that you can tell, he really loves to just 'jam' for lack of better word with ANYONE. That's just cool.
@@wraith1117 Your 100% right
Both of u r JUST STUPID.
Music comes from GOD.
Soul is ur Soul..
All have it
@@tonyalier4317 you are an insult go elsewhere with your nasty remarks may god forgive your nasty ass mouth
i'm mexican and i gotta admit the black community are so blessed with so many talented musicians .
I am 60 now and I have listened to him most of my life. Nothing has dulled. If anything he has improved with his experiences. Bless you all.
Good lord, Daryl, after all these years, can still SANG.
NR Davis auto-tune really helps
SANG.
Straight up Soul Brother from another Mother. He keeps getting better with age.
I’m a English guy, and fell head over heels first time I heard HALL&OATES, Great philly sound, had the pleasure of seeing them in my home city of Manchester,TRUE MUSICIANS,
Daryl's music keeps him young. His medicine is love for his music.. Love your music don't ever stop.
Daryl Hall is one of those rare performers who is timeless, that God given voice of his is still in tact after decades of singing, look at how youthful he looks and he is in his 60s
Daryl is the hottest 67 year old musician out there! He just keeps getting better...
Daryl Hall is one of a kind. He still has it. So unique and sounds good even now. Brings back lots of good memories . Love to see him in concert again.
Daryl is quite simply fantastic as a song write, singer and musician. Bravo!
Name ANY other artist that maintained his/her top-notch voice into his 60's like Daryl did. He is amazing. And I'm not even mentioning his talent as a song writer. When I become the US president he will be my first guest to the White House (with John Oats, of course)...
Tom Jones has well into his 70s. Makes Hall look like a karaoke singer.
Elton John.
Daryl is amazing, but sorry, can;t agree with Elton John, much as I love his music he has put in some shockers. Bonnie Raitt? Tony Bennett?
Don Henley.
Russell Thompkins Jr 🎤
Darryl Hall's voice is soO seasoned over time! He has always been AMAZING!!
Daryl was pumping out the Philadelphia sound, while many of today's stars were crawling around in diapers. He really knows his stuff.
I have loved this guy for 45 years!!!
You Got That Right!
Daryl Hohl is from Pottstown sweetheart!!!
yes that philly sound is all man!
So much soul for a white boy.
Daryl Hall only gets better
Queen Latifah showcasing her incredible vocal talents and versatility ❤
For someone in his 60's, he's still got a great voice with a good range. How many musicians can actually beat that? Keep rockin' `Hall and Oates!
I saw him in concert last night. It’s December 2022 and he still sounded great! Perhaps a little hoarseness, which few may have noticed-but I did only because I’ve been a fan for so long. He is now in his late 70s!

Daryl Hall is great singer He can play guitar really good Love Daryl Hall and John oats

I was a teen then. 63 now. they were on the radio all the time back then. so many hit songs
Hello, how are you today? Nice meeting you here.
Jocelyn Carter: I just love this man sound! Daryl is a soul singer and I just love him.
When I moved to FL in 2002 -- I was amazed to hear teenagers calling the local radio station and request Hall and Oates. The young'uns had discovered the greatness of the duo.
Darryl Hall, The Roots and Q-Latifa are all American Treasures! 😍
Daryl & the Queen; what a beautiful blend of vocals!
Hello, how are you doing today? It’s nice to meet you here.
I love the way Daryl takes his old tunes and takes it to another place. I've been watching Live at Daryl's House since its conception and I never, ever get bored. Love you Daryl, always.
You ROCK MY WORLD DARYL AND JOHN !💜💜💜💜💜💜
When he started singing Rich Girl I was struck with the idea that that's how he'd write the song now that he's got 30+ years more experience and knowledge.
I hate when he takes his old tunes and ‘takes it to another place’. Actually, it’s more that I just don’t like the Way he ‘takes’ his songs. I’ve liked other musicians who’ve; after 30-40 years of a song, have done something fresh and unique to the song...but it’s obviously been a thoughtful, considered writing and arranging process whereby the result is very appealing - to everyone, btw (audience response is the clue). It seems like Daryl just goes with the flow which doesn’t seem respectful to his audience, and; like I said somewhere around here, it feels indulgent of him as well as cheap. I’d be okay with him doing some free-styling at the end of the show, maybe. But to continuously over-vocalize the hits we/I pay to hear; I’d rather not attend. Now if he would have shown artistry by putting effort into ‘changing it a little here’ or arranging it slightly differently where it’s fresh and polished; I could probably dig that. I guess he’s just not my cuppa as I once thought he was.
@@catherinefitzpatrick9144 aw stop it most of the iconic artist does this during a live performance thats why they are artists they would get bored as hell singing a song the same way all the time thats what makes them great why dont u just listen to todays watered down talent over prerecorded tracks and lypsincs
So true . . . Live at Daryls House shows the expanse of his talent. He might not get the spotlight, BUT will always get the sixth man award like in bball.
Daryl has become a consummate vocalist as he ages....like fine wine. Yes Sir!
I absolutely love how he puts his spin in these songs Live From Daryl's House. I would love to see him and Michael McDonald have a concert together.
Woo! 🔥🔥🔥
That concert would be the bomb of all times!..wouldn't be any need for seats..LOL
C’mon, you missed the Rock n Soul Tour with McDonald, Alan Gorrie, Hall & Oates?! Go get the videos, it’s beyond..just go..
This is awesome! Daryl has a voice that’s not enhanced. It’s real and beautiful. Love The Roots and Queen Latifah accompaniments.
Darryl Hall is just as good as he was 40 years ago🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕💕This man is just like wine and keeps it real❤️❤️❤️💕💕
Hello there! How are you doing today? Nice to meet you on here.
Daryl is immortal... finest musical artist in an elite league.
This was brilliant. I've loved Darryl since I was such a little girl. And Latifah looked like she felt like silk and smelled like shea butter, sweet coconuts and perfectly riped pineapples and mangoes. This whole vibe was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
JAZZY🥰...OMG I'M LIKE STUCK...WHEN QUEEN LEFT OFF I WAS LIKE KEEP GOING DARYL DON'T STOP...HE SMOKED IT❤👏👏💃💃💃
I stayed for the Queen!
I love your comment and Yes, Queen is absolutely gorgeous and she can certainly sing! Love Her!❤️
I agree. So many people don’t realize what a wonderful voice she has. You should watch the vid of and Tony Bennett singing a song from the great American Songbook.
🤣🤣🤣 this Comment was so on the money 🙏🏽 I was thinking the same thing but couldn't find the words but you did 🤣 she most definitely smelled of Cocobutter
truly shows that music breaks ALL barriers......who woulda thought roots, queen L and Mr Hall would be doin this together? I love music for many reasons, but my favorite reason is there is no color, no racial stereotypes, no stupid profiles......its straight-up talent and love of music.
Roots are from Philly too I was born In Philly
Let's not forget DJ Jazzy Jeff sitting in with the Roots ( left of Questlove and to our right)!!!!
I couldn't have said that better myself. Truth so true.
Daryl Hall ♥️ His Voice is like no other, no comparisons 🎼 👏✌️
I can remember living and dying for Hall and Oates at one point in the 80’s ❤️
Hello, how are you today? Nice meeting you here.
One of America's greatest singers. Ever.
He is just incredible. Beyond the norm. En pointe. He just brings joy, particularly right now with Covid19
for 60+ he still has it, he sounds great the with ROOTS.... you go Daryl
the roots are goddamn ridiculous good
Two of my very favorite H&O songs. Daryl has one of the best voices in the biz! And wow those backup singers are awesome.
Daryl Hall's music never gets old
Not too shabby for 65. Kudos to Hall.
Two Philadelphia greats.
Dominick Ibelli Coolest 65 year old maybe ever.
The Legendary Roots Crew! Revitalizing our favorites!
This was 10 years ago.. and he was 65 years old at that time! He is so talented... Love DH!
Hard to believe this was 10 years ago!
Hello, how are you today? Nice meeting you here.
Is it me or does his voice sound better than 30 years ago?
Mature.
Noel de la Rosa I agree
Yes it does
It's not just you! I think so too!
How did you sound 30 years ago nowhere near as good as him
The music is timeless.
I do not believe it is possible for any man that good looking get even better looking with age. Hall and Oates have been my favorite group since I was 13. I won thier album Abandoned Luncheonette . Wore the album out playing the record. Always Hall & Oates pay tribute to so many groups like the Skylights and more.
Never gonna stop loving thier music and talent.
I had thr pleasure of seeing Hall&Oates Feb. 16, 1991 in Springfield Mass at the Paramount Theater...they were superb!!!!
and still are!!!!
Hall & Oates one of the best duo groups of all time. Certainly one of mine 💕🎶
Brilliant musician, looks and sounds 15 years younger than he is, quality that lasts!
Shit how about 25 years!
I love this song, I will always remember the heartless ex boyfriend I had who said he hated Hall and Oates (you have to be heartless to hate Hall and Oates) and after we broke up he owed me 300 dollars and I drove to meet him to get it and when I drove away I turned up the volume on my radio and I happened to my Hall and Oates CD on and this song came on at the most opportune time :)
Isn’t it great when things come together?
Love that. Love my music - Love me
Karma is a great thing!
Daryl is the most amazing soul singer. He mesmerized me first with "Sara Smile" like everyone else. I can't get enough of his deep felt singing. I have followed Daryl's House and You Tube videos of him and guests and his renovation series as a fan. Keep playing and singing your special style and amazing voice forever!
Amazing soul & pop voice of this century gets better with age
Let's not 4get private 👀s
Actually, my first time hearing Hall & Oates was Rich Girl on my car radio, in 12th grade.
Daryl Hall is amazing. He wrote & sung some incredible songs. I love the "live concerts" from Daryl's house. Questlove on drums & Paul Pesco on guitar = 2-killer's. Sara Smile is a timeless classic. oNe LovE from NYC
70’s music was and still is the best ever!! Daryl Oates and his band great hits!!💖💕💃
Love Daryl been a fan for what seems like forever. Listened to him and John Oats back in High School. I’m in my 60’s now and REALLY ENJOY Daryl’s house. I agree! I’m right behind you in age!! Saw H&O about 5 yrs ago in Austin… and they were still killing it!! 🥰
Thank you Daryl for spending your life bringing us the music that warms the heart.
Daryl is giving back to the sound and recognizing it. Bless his heart ❤
Hello, how are you doing today? It’s nice to meet you here.
Absolutely LOVE Daryl Hall 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
An excellent singer of all time!!! Hope to have him around for much longer.... it will be hard to find someone that can actually sing the way he does. He just have the ability to touch you in such a good way thru his music.
I like Daryl's rendition of this song, very soulful
Daryl. Smooth as silk. Loved Hall and Oates since ‘75 and he simply gets better and better.
This is absolutely fantastic! Daryl starting the song off and then the background singers , entire Ensemble and then Queen walks into the smooth flow of a heavenly song, Sara Smile ! 🔥
Hello, how are you doing today? Nice meeting you here.
The perfect blue-eyed soulman! Magnificent Daryl Hall! Heloisa from Brazil.
RIDICULOUS AWESOME
Still so beautiful after all those decades.
I'm a lifelong fan of Darryl Hall and John Oates and I loved this. Queen Latifah has a fantastic voice, I wish her part wasn't so brief.
Such a simple guy with so much talent!
Music is key to peace man.
and good bass players too!
if peace does not work then fuck them over the head with a fender precision bass mmmmmmmmm
Truth!
Mark Batarina it’s the key to pain as well, I’m battling cancer and it’s oftentimes the only thing that helps get thru the nights.

Live Daryl Hall one of the greatest artists when music was music.

Hello, how are you doing today? It’s nice to meet you here.
This revives my faith in humanity
She is a RAPPER who just decided to get up on stage and sing....Kudos for her and now she is an actress who is much sought after. She was nominated for an academy award!!. She has talent.. She saw herself as someone special and, then gave herself the name Queen. Its all about what you think about yourself, not what others think about you!.
Actually "Queen Latifh " has recorded tons of other music..soul..r and b..under her real name Dana Owens
She is better suited as a Rapper. Her singing on this is very often FLAT/OFF PITCH.
It's fair to say that after all these years I am still definite crunchin' on Daryl. Sheeeeeit.
He's is still so awesome. I love his duets. Please keep it up. We need great music. Maybe these young people can hear real music.
Hello, how are you doing today? It’s nice to meet you here.
This is cool. Darryl Hall performing "Rich Girl" and "Sara Smile" in Philly, July 4 2012, with Queen Latifah, The Roots, and DJ Jazzy Jeff. I especially like when Hall and Queen Latifah sing together.
God this is like the sexiest thing ever. Daryl is smoking hot. Flawless.
Luscious, thick hair. Gorgeous man!
He is still HOT at his age . And he sings well . Lol
HelstothaYEAH
Still hot and sexy.
Very best cover of Sara Smile I have ever heard. A gorgeous, soulful version of a beautifully written song! I could, and have, listened to it over and over again.
It’s not a cover. It’s his song.
Hello, how are you today? Nice meeting you here.
Loved you then, love you even more today. Gratitude. Respect😘
Daryl, you still move me. You still got it bro.
Queen, girl you still rock my socks off too.
This man really wrote some serious tunes .. and still is able to perform them to a level many kids today trying too hard will never achieve, not even a rack of electronic aids will help them as they just lack the spirit and soul this guy pours into his performances. I keep saying it, but is it is not and never was about being (pitch) perfect..
It's raw talent and 💓
I agree . I’m so lucky to have be born to hear this great artist perform live 3 times . Perfection
Well said my friend. Well said.
Soul is difficult to fake.....I think these guys mean it!!!!
@@duncanshaw3384 you got that right. wish there were more musically gifted musicians like Daryl Hall and John Oates. Truly gifted. 👍💞
I wanna hear him sing a gospel song, just once.
Daryl is approaching national treasure status. He has been so good for so long.
I was there at this concert. Philly throw the best Forth concert. And I’m from Newark, NJ. Just as good as New York.
you guys are all nuts, Daryl sounds a great as ever. If you are a real Daryl Hall fan you will know that this is his vocal style live. You are all comparing him to recorded versions.
They (Hall and Oates) played Penns Landing, (the area along the riverfront) a few months ago here in Philly back on Memorial Day weekend, they sounded awesome. Yeah the voices change with age..what the hell, you expect that. It was an amazing show. *And I'm sitting here thinking "that was May 27, for me it feels like last week...and it's freggin Sept 1st!" The summer flies by at a sick cruel speed! eh!
Andrea Tutrani EXACTLY......I was at this show!
Andrea Tutrani no shit man, godam idiots. Whatvtue fuck is wrong with people?? Wanna bitch slap em
He should sound like the albums. If the albums cant be replicated they shouldn't be released.
So bluesie damn he's good
Daryl Hall has a unbelievable good voice. And a damn good songwriter
.
No matter the year, no matter the age, the power of music is still magical to this day! I'm a lover of tunes, I'm a lover of soul, I say: *Let's Party And Let The Good Times Roll!!!* because both Earthside and Heavenside t'is true... *LEGENDS NEVER FADE AWAY!!!* ~ we all know that's the truth. As ruggedly handsome as Daryl Hall, Patrick Swayze, Sam Elliott, were, are and forever will be, To those you still feel the tingle up and down their spine, *Simply Let It Happen!, Just Let It Be, Baby!!!* ~Rockin Matt...I love everybody and they love me!
2022...just here to say I admire the Queen Latifah and thank you to Hall and Oats 💗

Hello, how are you today? Nice meeting you here.
Spectacular jam!!!! I could listen to Daryl do that tune all night long!
i love you Darryl nobody can pick that "Sarah Smile" intro on lead guitar like Mr Oates..
He's still awesome!!!,,,,and cant say enough about Queen!!! As beautiful as she is talented!
Hello, how are you today? Nice meeting you here.
Blue eyed soul was a trend that required real talent. Darryl, Michael McDonald, Bonnie Raitt and Aretha Franklin sang songs that rocked a multiracial audience and fan group. gates wf I miss that feeling of mellow.. My college freshman daughter got to see Ray Charles and was blown away by his talent. Youngsters see the old folks like BB King and the people mentioned above before it is too late. I wept at the death of Andreas Segovia -- there has never been another like him and I had the privilege of attending two of his concerts..
Daryl Hall is a genius - love this man!
I didn't realize how funky Daryl Hall and Oates were back in the day. I used to turn the radio dial if their song was playing but I must say I'm diggin these times live. I didn't realize how talented this fella was until now. I just stumbled into these videos. I remember this song during couples skate. Holding hands skating with some young lady I had my eyes on .
