Crew and passengers (Marines like me) would line the rails and sing along at the top of their voices. When my ship did these unreps, we would loop "Love Train" through our sound system. This video just brought me back to the summer of '96 ... singing 'til my voice gave out, out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Good times.

The thing I enjoyed the most about this song during the months following its release was the feel of it. The happy feel of it. It was soulful, no doubt. How could it not be, given it was the O'Jays. But the happiness and hopefulness of it always shined through.
