    Fat fasting is how my mom made a tumor in her liver shrink and basically disappear while doctors wanted to cut her open right away. She starved the tumor that needs carbs×sugar to grow. It's been 10 years ago by now since she got the news that the tumor shrunk and even the doctors were shocked. God bless her. ❤

    just did a bulletproof coffee and water fast for 2 days and man I felt AMAZING!! I ate then and now I am in hour 5 of my 72 hour fat fast! I lost 4lbs in 2 days and I had been stalled for a while. I love the way I feel.

      @@a2isha u can just watch it...the reason coffee fat fasting works is caffein and fat greatly suppress appetitie...its always great for a quick 3 to 5 pound loss before an event

      This is an efficient way to train the body to fast. I use ghee, c8 mct oil, or coconut oil. I also use pure stevia extract (no additives), lots of quality salt. You can also blend it in hot water in afternoon.
      It works for most people. I cheer everyone on.

      @@drake7817, it doesn't have to be pasture fed, but it's preferable. Kerrygold seems to be the standard, but use what you have. Best wishes.

    7 day fat fast is amazing! I lost 134 lbs with Keto in a year, also fat fasts and IF. My story is on my channel with before and afters. Kept it off 8 years now, even through pregnancy! Amazing lifestyle

      Awsome... I have kept 130lbs off after a failed bypass gained it all back and went keto. If I had only known it was possible. Having the bypass triggered 2 auto immune conditions and I spent two years in bed from pain levels higher than any surgery or kidney stone I passed. It is a miracle diet not only for my weight but pain and I look 15 years younger. Kudos 😉

    Ok,, OMG! I did it! 24 hr. Fat Fast 800 calories total and this morning I was 5 lbs down from yesterday! Thank you Dr.Keith ! I decided that I am going to do it one day a week from now on...     currently on day 2 of my 3 day fat fast. I was on a wicked plateau(for almost a year) then I did alternate day fasting for about 5 weeks. As much as I enjoyed it, it kinda stressed me out too. So now that I've gotten on another plateau, I'm giving the fat fast a shot. Enjoying it so far!

    WOW AGAIN what fantastic information. I’ve successfully lost 18kgs with Keto/IF and stalled.. this is again great info..

    Thank You! I totally agree, small amounts of Fat make a food free day a snap. (notice I dont call it fasting. Personally I call water only fasting) (2 or 3 Tsp organic heavy cream for me) Video tweaking idea: For the benefit of new subscribers and people stumble upon your work: You should consider adding before and after snapshots to each video.     This is great as I have just started eating carnivore OMAD and the coffee with heavy cream is my savior. I have one in the morning and one about noon. Eat my meal about 5-6pm. Rinse, repeat 6 days a week. Have lost 6 kilos in 2 weeks. Day 7, I eat 2 meals but still full carnivore. This broke my stall on keto.

    I have been doing keto for a few months I'm older and have Hasimos I am losing slowly but have lost. I started IF 16/8 but 2 daysago changed to 20/4 .. Thank you for your info on breaking fasting that helps because I have found different info regarding MCT oil before breaking fast.. So I'm gong by what you have proven to be true. Thanks again.

    I downloaded the Starter Kit, so thank you. I did notice that there was no protein in the way of meat or fish until you get to 5 Foods To ADD If You're Weight Loss Resistant. I have been following a Keto lifestyle for sometime but still tweaking it. Learned last year that for me, there was no having a "cheat" of any kind since I used to be a binge eater & that would only set me up for binging hours, days or even longer! Hats off to Keith for taking charge of his WOE and getting his health back plus having the added yrs to his life. Hoping that in time my husband will join me as well since his snoring also keeps apart. Thank you again, Mary Ann in MA

      Hi Terra! I'll be honest, the first thing my mom said when she first saw me (65 lbs down at that point) was "your way too skinny", and "you should eat something" :). My patients have been very supportive and curious about what I've been doing. I've inspired a good number of them to go low carb and some are doing a ketogenic diet. It's great when they walk into the office and say "35 pounds down"!

    After a fast of 20 hours, a Keto coffee was wonderfully refreshing! Coffee, butter, mct oil, half & half. Then I kept fasting comfortably a little longer

    Great tips. You both look wonderful. I have a can of Zevia rootbeer with heavy cream stirred in. It tastes exactly like a rootbeer float, no carbs!

      In theory, the sweet taste of the soda can create an insulin response and lessen your fast results. You’d have to test your own blood to be sure...

      I lose as slow as a turtle, most times none. I realized I'm losing inches, which is even better. Check the tape, not the scale. Believe me, that's what counts.

      I'm loosing so slow too but at least I'm not gaining weight. Everytime I was on the scale I was 1 more pound because my slow metabolism for menopause.

    what I heard, is that consuming fat/butter lowers ones cortisol. For those with chronic too high cortisol fat burning gets stalled by the cortisol even when doing zero carbs. Right now I am not fat fasting but fat feasting. (I dont do it for wight loss but to treat my bipolar condition and mood swings) I have like about a stick of butter next to my bed. Before sleeping I take a good helping of butter, if i wake up at night I consume a good helping of butter. The first thing I do in the morning is consume Ashwagandha (lowers cortisol and needs to be with a fat) and consume a good helping of butter. MY fat consumption is about 180-220 grams of fat a day getting to 80-20 and even 85-15 sometimes 90-10. protein consumption is restricted 60-85 grams a day for a 6 f1 180 lbs male.. As my goal is being in a high state of ketosis, Its not the eat limitless protein. Besides i could not afford myself 2 pounds or more meat a day LOL. moderate protein high fat keto carnivore. I do notice more calm now consuming butter before sleep waking up at night and in the morning. Then just doing OMAD. Also heard those doing omad and can only eat in evening at night often is caused by high cortisol. I cant think of having a breakfast or lunch. But I am fine with scooping down some nobs of butter. that easily gets to 100 grams a day, at times where I otherwise would nto eat at all. For me its about getting cortisol down and ketosis up

    Good news, congrats on 69 lbs. I just realized 65 lbs is my target. So i must watch all you videos. I'm at 14lbs in 3 weeks. Side affects yes but its ok. I wasn't able to lose a lb. By just cutting out cookies and french fries infact gained 6 lbs. During my attempt, befor keto. Yes shrinking . i lost 40lb 20 years ago but got into emotional eating.

    I do it.Get great ketone glucose numbers! I am already too skinny and tell myself I might hang onto weight. Eight weeks of 72 hrs now just do when convenient like three day weekends.

    Good morning, I to have insulin resistance problems. I went through the same time period as you Dr. I went down to 160 in weight. I kinda like 170 ish. I cheated during the holidays ( you know mashed potatoes. Ouch. 186 oh,and cheese cake. I am at 170 ish again as you Dr. Oh yes,I love you guys and they the way you interact.     Thank you do much for your videos. I am new to intermittent fasting and keto. So far so good. I recently discovered that I am allergic to coconut oil, which eliminates MCT for me. Can you suggest a substitute to add to my coffee if I decide to do a fat fast?

    Thank you. I have been searching the net for someone that has done this Fat Fast.. I was curious because I didn't want anything to throw me out of my Ketosis per say.. I have been losing a lb about every 3 days and this pst week I gained it and lost it and then gained it back.. so I thought it was hidden carbs,, I am going to try this starting tomorrow .. What a Relief! Thank you so much.. I found out just now I can fiind out anything as long as I ask the Right Question! Just 6 weeks in Keto and I have lost 22 lbs!     Dr Keith continues to say he is 'insulin resistant' even after he has lost 80 lbs? Does that ever change? Is he not insulin sensitive after a year of keto? I am very insulin resistant and I'm hoping that can be reversed. Thanks for your insight and your great videos!

      I am too. I have lost 43 pounds and the highest I've ever had my blood ketones is around 1.2. I can make the urine sticks a deep color but not the blood meter. Maybe the Docs can help me here. I am only 2.5 months on keto. Do you get more insulin sensitive over time....six months, a year?

    What you didnt point out is your fat fast is extremely low calorie. That will kick start ketosis, yes, but also the “fast” part, practically no cals part, is essential to dropping wt. The fat intake (satiation) allows for the extreme calorie drop that day. And low cal=wt loss. So no bacon?

    Thank you for this information on fat fasting! I'm wanting to get all the benefits of fasting (which I've been doing for almost 7 months) without any more weight loss. Seems ideal to fuel my body with exogenous fat instead of forcing it to burn my own body fat. But, why would you drink caffeine (which binds to your adenosine receptors so you can't get sleepy no matter how active you are) at 6:00 PM?!

    Please, help. I'm already fit but not enough, need to lose 5-15 pounds. I'm 118 and 5'2", waistline is 25inches. How many calories should i take on fat fasting?Thank you!

    You guys have any remedy for belly skin wrinkles? Sit ups and different exercises doesn't seen to help nor does collagen supplements. . I know age is a factor.

    What would you suggest for someone who has to inject 25 units of slow-acting insulin (Levemir) every evening (but takes no other diabetic medications) if they wish to incorporate a fat fast one day a week? My glucose numbers at around 15 carbs a day tend to average around 111-114 with this insulin intake (never dropping below 101, but also never raising above 135), so should I reduce (or even completely eliminate) the amount of insulin I take the night before a planned fat fast? The last thing I want is a hypoglycemic reaction that would force me to eat carbs and throw me out of my IF, or worse out of ketosis. However, I also know that I easily get that "dawn phenomenon." The only time my glucose raises above 115 anymore is if I'm fasting with water only. That's when I get the numbers in the low to mid 130s.
    I've wondered how to incorporate a proper fast while needing insulin for a while, but asking my PCP is a bit futile. He's open to me using the Keto diet to treat my diabetes since he's seen my results but he is not very knowledgeable about it. I definitely want to try this as taking insulin is making it very hard to lose weight. I dropped about 10 lbs and then stalled. At least I can finally say that my glucose levels are fairly normal, but I just really want to get to the place that I no longer need insulin.
    My husband luckily is only pre-diabetic and has dropped 17 lbs in just two weeks after starting keto. I know most of that is fluid weight, but it's still great. Not to mention we both feel so much better. We're both loving this new way of life!

      Hi Laura! I wish we could give you some advice re: your insulin and the ketogenic diet but unfortunately we have to defer to your doctor on this one. Maybe a local keto group could help provide some insight or steer you to a practitioner who is better versed in the keto lifestyle. Best of luck!! :)
