    instant oatmeal only has 3g fiber per serving, but it is 68% carbs, so not good for diabetics

    You forgot the most important part. Start slow. If you increase your fiber to fast get ready to have some explosive diarrhea.

      @@fireside007They're probably someone who believe fiber is an anti-nutrient that prevents you from abosorbing nutrients. But that's fear mongering.
      It prevent some asborbsion of nutrient but it also helps prevent you from absorbing excess nutrients or fats in excess, and even pre-cancerous stuff while feeding your gut.
