I saw him play solo in Santa Fe NM a couple of months ago. He went on a 15 minute exploration of Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata. It was one of the greatest musical experiences I have ever had in my life. I have NEVER heard the piano played the way he plays. His passion, joy and love fill the room.
This Guy is really special i get it now took me a while but i get him. Music to him is a spiritual Soulful connection that you feel in your heart and Soul. He totally embodies the music he creates thats why his energy is unmatched. I liked him even more when i watched American Symphony His love for his wife and bis viz was spell binding captivating and inspiring no wander he creates the music that he does. He spirit his infectcious so natural you could listen to him all day. Kelly's vocal talent is unreal look how she just turned the bar up the melody the the tone the sound imagine what a duet would produce. It just reinforces real musical talent. Thank you Jon and Kelly❤.
I ordered Beethoven Blues on Nov 14th because it sounds so great. Had to have it. Jon was playing for Chris Wallace and boy oh boy did he play Beethoven. Had to have it.
One of the few great things about Covid was the way Jon was introduced to us during the Late Show as so much more than just a sidekick or late night band leader.
If I was a gaming company and saw this, I’d ask Jon Batiste to orchestrate my next game. It would be next level epic. It would be a labor of love for him considering he’s a gamer.
