I don't know anything about Flame but I've been working on Nuke a little and now am a colorist on Resolve, and even though I don't know the software itself, you've managed to make clear explanations about retouching ! :D Loved it
Thanks for this Andy. I've taken a fulltime job as a director/editor/copywriter and Flame artist in one. (I was just Flame & edit for a long time) and I don't get back on the box much, but I'm in the middle of a big vfx/grading job and this tutorial is terrific for little tidbits I've never used (python etc), cheers!
Ahh, I still use the Front Offset and not matchbox because I add an Axis and "link" it to the Front offset Axis and then I can see my Axis positioner and do an offset, which can be handy for other types of shots , like removing a boom mic on a wall that has a gradient, because then you can apply scaling - like stretch it in y or x and have the axis positioned where you need it. I didn't think of the technique of bringing in the bg as another surface that you can move.
This is great!! At 13:05, the resize technique, trying to figure out if there is a way to do this but also animate both the position x,y and the scale of the crop. Position animation works but cant figure out how to translate the crop scale back in the action when reframing.
@@andymilkis5221 Thanks :) tried messing around with translating the scale between the resise and axis in action but couldnt find any thing that worked. Thinking using the ratio value in the resize might work but not sure how to translate it to xy scale :)

Thank you!
Excellent, detailed, and no fluff. One of the best beauty tutorials I've watched.
Thank you!
This is gold Andy. Thank you!

Hi Hampus. Not that I'm aware of. I haven't tried it but I think that it might just be doing the negative of the scale value in resize.

Hi Andy. Very nice this class. Could you share this python script that you used to load the generic setup? Thanks
Yes. I've put a link to it in the description. Just a reminder that this script is expecting Neat Video v5. Thanks, Wilton.
@@LogikLive Thanks Andy, very useful script.
I get a slight offset after the Action repo, which is visible with the difference matte. Anyone else?
