    Great video, if you had to chose between the lavener pro5KW, HLN 5KW or the maxspeed 5kw, Which would you guys suggest. Thanks

      Deffo the 5kw HLN if price isn't a factor. It is about 4 x more expensive than the maxpeedingrods. If you are on budget and want a decent 5kw heater the maxpeedingrods is a very good option. As cost is a factor for us we would choose the maxpeedingrods 100%

    most power stations with regulated 12v sockets can run them. most power stations with unregulated 12v sockets cannot.

    Hi mate, love your videos for both the information and the entertainment :) I'm stuck between the Hcalory 5kw bluetooth and the Maxspeedingrods 5kw bluetooth. Are the only significant differences the temp control on the Hcalory and the vent mode on the Maxspeedingrods? What would you pick out of the two?

    My 8kw uses at best 0,08 liter per hour on H1 with alpine mode. It's 16.5 watt at 12v most of the time.

    Do you have a video that shows how to set up a 5kw to run efficiently at lower power? Like the 2kw versions that are really ramped down 5kw?

    • @vanlifesurvivorsguide

      What control panel do you have? It can be as easy as swapping the controller to a better one that has the HZ mode. If you don't have that you could swap to a smaller pump like a 16ml and change the pump setting in the controller. It all depends on the controller basically. Are you a member of our facebook group?

      2 kW versions are physically smaller than the 5 kW.
      So not a ramped down version.

      Yes, the genuine 2kw heaters are smaller. The others are 5kw that have been set-up to run lower.

    I'm getting some issues with my 3 month old diesel heater. I came home and it was coming up e10. I gave it a prime and changed the hz on it and it seemed to work ok fir like 40 mins but now it's shutting off by itself and is struggling to start up. I just put fuel so it's not that. What's the most common things to check this early? Fuel line? Glow plug?

    • @vanlifesurvivorsguide
      @vanlifesurvivorsguide  4 месяца назад +1

      I would say the battery or power source if it is cutting out, failing that it might have air bubbles in the fuel line

      @vanlifesurvivorsguide it seems to be OK this morning. It did run out of fuel so maybe hadn't primed it enough and it was later on a cold evening trying to get it going. Fingers crossed 🤞

    The mesh screen works as a wick. There is no atomization with these heaters. They are a wicking heater.

    • @vanlifesurvivorsguide
      @vanlifesurvivorsguide  8 месяцев назад +1

      It is still called an atomiser screen though

      @@vanlifesurvivorsguide ok, but calling it that gives people the wrong information about the actual combustion process that is taking place. It was someone that probably couldn't visualize what was going on and compared the heater to a furnace that does atomize fuel during combustion.
      I think it's wrong to call it an atomizing screen when it does nothing but wick the fuel into the chamber.
