If you are trying to install Windows 11 but can’t finish making the required changes in the BIOS because disabling CSM Support no longer lets the BIOS appear for you to complete the changes. This article will show you the steps you are going to have to take to fix the BIOS not appearing after disabling CSM Support on Gigabyte and other branded motherboards.

Quoting the ID just links the issue to an existing one (mine) so they can see that this is the same issue being raised by more people. I'm hoping that this would trigger them to do something...

I disabled CSM and had to restart so I could enable Secure Boot, but now my PC just directly loads to Windows instead of showing the Gigabyte Bios screen, so I can't even enable Secure Boot. It looks like none of the options in the video have been working so far, any action you would recommend I go for next?

    • @Downloadsourcenet

Try using Windows Advanced Startup. You can access it a few ways but the easiest is to hold shift while clicking restart from the start menu. This will take you to a new screen where you can access advanced options then choose to boot to UEFI or BIOS. I've had this annoying issue happen on my ASUS board a few times.

  • @jelledb

It is absolutely ridiculous how much time I spend on this but I fixed it!
I did a so-called flash of the VBIOS of the video card as some people online mentioned the original did not properly support UEFI.
So I followed a tutorial "How to flash VBIOS AMD" and it did the trick! After restarting I immediately saw the BIOS again.
I don't even understand half of what I am writing but I am glad it worked
This was for a Gigabyte RX580 8GB Gaming.

@@Downloadsourcenet it is such a shit show. I was able to fix it again in the end by ripping out my GPU and going with the internal graphics, which led me to an error in the BIOS about encryption problems. Ripped out the hard drives, enabled secure boot, put everything back and that works now. So I managed to enable Secure Boot hooray
But I still get the TPM 2.0 error for Riot Games, which brought me here in the first place lmao

Alright. Messed around a bit more and I got it to work fully! I had to enable Intel PTT in the BIOS too which seems to be some kind of software implementation of TPM and that was it! Now when I run the PC Health Check it also sucessfully detects my PC as TPM 2.0 ready :D

Yeah it's stupid that they haven't fixed this! Interestingly enough. I just upgraded to a 40 series GPU (Grudgingly) and the problem went away. I don't know why i didn't change anything else but there's something that needs to be patched in the BIOS for holder hardware...

  • @marhensa
    @marhensa Год назад +3

This is ridiculous. It seems disabling CSM and enabling Secure Boot on BIOS triggers something and it makes some hardware stop working properly, in my case it was GPU, it can't be used on UEFI (BIOS) environment, though I check my GPU on GPU-Z and other website it supports UEFI, but it's still goes blank and straight go to Windows.
When on Windows, some hardware also behave strangely, LAN and Bluetooth for my case, I cant use the internet because the Ethernet port is not detected at all, and I don't have Wi-Fi for my PC. Also Bluetooth dongle can't be used, practically I can't game on it, there's no internet and can't connect to gamepad controller to use my PC.
I tried boot to UEFI from Windows Update / Advanced Startup, still nothing shows. Pushing F2 button (my default key for BIOS) while boot also shows nothing. I also tried cable method both HDMI and DVI in all GPU ports, it's not working, I don't have integrated GPU on my CPU and I don't want to borrow CPU with iGPU from someone else and test it on my PC, to much hassle to repaste and all that stuff.
Then as you suggest, I simply remove CMOS battery, wait for 10 minutes just in case there's still electricity on the capacitors. After 10 mins, I plug CMOS battery back in, and it resets all the BIOS settings (XMP, Fans, etc), it's okay, because this is the only way, at least for my case.
    Thank you!
In some cases I read on internet (yes it's known problem), even resetting BIOS can't reverse that CMS and Secure Boot settings, glad my case isn't that troublesome.
My specs: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (no iGPU), AsRock B450M Steel Legend latest BIOS version 4.60, 16 GB RAM 3200Mhz, Radeon RX 580 4GB Sapphire Nitro.

Thanks for the full run down on your issue as well. It's a total mess. I honestly don't know why Gigabyte hasn't resolved this problem yet. It is a major, major issue that needs to be addressed ASAP.
You are having even more problems than I would have expected! It's frustrating because every single time you want to enter the BIOS you have to make the changes just to get access. Then if something goes wrong and you reset the BIOS you have to do it all again.
I thought ASUS ROG was a pain the backside but after switching I've found this even worse. When you get the chance make sure you lodge a ticket with support so that perhaps they may actually look into the issue.

I have been trying to fix this issue since many days , The only fix which I found is, you must set the display to HDMI1.4 standard. Otherwise no matter what you may do you'll always end up directly at the windows login screen.
Older monitors, probably manufactured before 2020 and the intel GPUs are more prone to this issue.

    • @Downloadsourcenet
      @Downloadsourcenet  Месяц назад

That is a fairly good explanation I got my monitors in 2020 so they were probably made before 2020 so there is probably some truth to this being part of the problem. Though updating to a new RTX card solved the problem. But I get the feeling there are multiple things at play that cause it.

      No solution at this stage.
That seems to be by design and Gigabyte (in my case) Won't acknowledge or fix the problem. They don't care.
They told me to get a new GPU to fix the problem....
I ended up upgrading from a 1070 to a 4070. Not because they said to. It was just timing and it did fix the problem instantly.
That's not the point though! my 1070 should have worked just like the 4070 and it's infuriating that it doesn't!!!

I was able to solve this by changing the OS option on gigabyte motherboard to Windows 10 WHQL. Although I see a splash screen now, its too fast to see the BIOS del option message at the bottom. But for now I will take that and now the advanced startup works from windows before it went black after restart.

It's a total nightmare alright! I finally got everything installed. Then wanted to go back into the BIOS to configure fan settings etc. So I would have had to go back and repeat this entire ridiculous step. Disconnected the Display Port cable and use HDMI etc.
Instead, I ended up using Gigabyte SIV (System information viewer) to configure everything in Windows.

Is it a Gigabyte board as well? I would lodge a ticket with them and quote the one I have listed here. They still aren't taking this issue seriously..... As for your problem can you jump back to and older BIOS version in the hope it will reset everything?
