I did an update through dragon centre an nothing was lit up except for my fans motherboard an ram my screen was black my keyboard an mouse were too i tried holding the power button down to turn it off but that didnt work so i cut the power completely reset it an its still the same

NOT ME, i updated grub via terminal in Pop OS and instantly upon restarting my computer would no longer boot.
But i could still post and get into bios so i tried changing some boot options and now my computer wont even POST. fans and diodes all light up on rx560 gpu, b350 mobo, debug lites go off after few secs but screen stays black entire time.
measured v rails at this time and get 3.08. 5.07. 12.07 on rails, cleaned out psu and inspected for burn marks or bulging caps, none. no bulging caps on mobo or gpu
ive removed the battery and shorted jbatt several times. tried removing boot m2 drive and tried a spinning disk, all for nothing.
how does this happen?
It did not work for me then I called a mechanic and he said that my hard disk is corrupted.😢
Such a lifesaver! I was about to start crying that my laptop didnt want to boot up properly after a BIOS restart, for the guys that have MSI laptop some of them have a very tiny power reset button on the back press it for 30 sec and voila, basically the same concept as shown in the video
Absolute life saver. The battery remove saved me. Was trying to update bios like an idiot and got scared when I didn’t have a picture. Give this man a raise!

@@julijangrajfoner1730 aorus b550 elite v2 ; i resolved the problem with the battery removal strategy, but as soon as I re-disabled CSM, the black screen came back... so i guess whenever i want to work in the bios, ill have to remove the battery

look for a Backup BIOS switch on the MOBO (you may or may not have one), switch it to backup then try a reboot - see your manual for this option. #2 pull out your graphics card and connect your video cable to the onboard motherboard video connection. Of course be certain your PC is unplugged and discharged. Don't attempt this if you are unsure of what you are doing, ask for professional help.

Hey guys for my Asus motherboard reseting the CMOS didnt initially work. What worked for me was removing all my ram sticks. Then I added one stick to slot one of the motherboard and restarted the PC. That finished the BIOS update. After everything is clear you can now add the rest of the sticks.
After Updating my Bios to the latest version, I got a black screen on reboot after the update. Thanks so much I saw your comment, both methods in the video didn't worked for me too, then I saw this and tried removing 1 of my ram stick as I have 2, then restart my PC. Im so happy it worked😁

This is the way. Pre-built came with ram on slot 3. Reset cmos via battery and nothing but black screen on monitor. Moved ram to slot 1 and we are back in business.
I was messing around with bios and I changed something and when my pc rebooted my mobo was flashing on the dram, suggesting that there’s a problem with my ram. When I turn my pc on I am stuck on the press DEL or F2 to go to bios screen. Please help, I’ve had this pc 2 weeks and it took me 3 years to save up for and buy :(
if CMOS reset not works try to remove your components (ram, SSD + GPU) and install the bios new over the flash bios button (hope you have one). i had a blackscreen issue after update the bios for resize bar last weekend and could fix it after the mentioned solution
This really helped. Thankyou. Had to use the method of removing the battery. Thankfully it did the job. I do have a question that i hope you can help with. I have the MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS Motherboard ATX. In the bios, memory settings is a feature called "try it" with the discription "optimises your memory". When selected it bring up a drop down box. I selected the corresponding ram "32gb 3600mhz" and saved it. Reboot and my screens went off and wouldnt boot. Any ideas?

I'm in the same boat as you. I have one question though. I had to flash my BIOS to the new chipset, before I actually built my PC. Do I need to refresh the BIOS or were you using an older chipset. Also unrelated I need blood pressure medicine now.

I’ve changed the battery and hard drive I’ve also checked data cable all the cables made sure they were all connected properly. I got an error message when getting home one day, been trying too get it too work again but can’t get passed bios and bios only recognizes my m.2 ssd and not my internal hdd which has my windows on it. What do I do!!!

Missed with r5 3600 in bios then got black screen, removing cmos battery for 5 secs allowed me to get back default settings thanks a lot

Thanks for the video. We have similar MOBOs (Z390 Master 1.0 here). In addition to the above steps, there's potentially a 4th method which is a motherboard BIOS switch for Main and Backup. After attempting to update from CSM to TPM 2.0, I got the black screen. However I knew upon last firmware update I backed up the BIOS. Switching from the Main BIOS physical switch on the motherboard from 1 to 2 easily cured the black screen issue. No removal of battery, jumpering or even a CMOS reset button. While this worked and I'm back into Windows, the MAIN CMOS (switch 1) is still corrupt. Hoping to locate an AOROUS approved method to restore the MAIN BIOS from a BACKUP BIOS..thank you for this video.
The NVIDIA site claims to remove the graphics card completely out of the MOBO and boot to the onboard Integrated Graphics (motherboard video connection/connect video cable as well). This will get you into the BIOS and bypass Black Screen. However some of do not have Integrated Onboard Video with the KF series Intel chips and there's no answer as of yet..working with NVIDIA and GIGABYTE lead support to find a resolution [10-15-21]

I have an aorus b560 with GTX 1060 and I can only access the BIOS via HDMI if I enable csm support, I have tried everything, uefi mode does not show BIOS via HDMI if it does not enable csm

My issue is that my PC boots and I have no display issues AFTER Windows boots. Before Windows boots, I have no display and cannot enter BIOS to change settings or boot device, nor can I enter WinRE
(Can't WinRE from the power button trick because my power button is broken on the mo-bo's side, so I have it re-wired to restart on the mo-bo. does the job. Hold for force shut down, tap for restart, tap for start from shutdown 🤷)
To the person who liked my comment, my monitor setup (display settings) defaulted after Windows upgrade. I had my TV connected to onboard graphics and was defaulted to Monitor 1.
I didn't have the TV display the source of the PC, so I never saw that's where the output went.
Felt like an idiot, but there you are. Just reconfigure your display settings to set your primary and secondary monitors.
Note: don't use this in an interview when asked about troubleshooting experience. I thought the interviewer and I would have a laugh... They did not laugh, nor did I get the job 🥲

Guys remove memory battery it works i do turn the second gpu and i had this problem i try to update my rtx and didn't work when i remove gpu and remove the memory battery i still removing it between 10s and 30s and put it back in its place & put your gpu also after finishing these Steps
start your pc after 20s it will works and u should see the bios automatically without spamming any button
I ended up changing one of my settings in bios and none of these methods are working, do you know anything else i can try
None of these methods helped. Updated BIOS, after update OS was still launching for several weeks until I've noticed the black screen upon entering BIOS. Followed your instructions, black screen is still there but now I can't load to OS - initial setup is required which is not possible due to black screen. Looks like I'm screwed, thank you, kind sir!

They last a long time. I wouldn’t change it unless BIOS settings do not save, or a known good fixes your boot problem.

it means your bios is corrupted, just like mine, you need to find out if you have a second bios on your mootherboard, if not, you need to send it where you got it and get help or find a pc store that helps fix things

@Sgt Ryan oh I found a fix. It sounds stupid af but it did end up working. Basically just unplug all drives from the system and boot. It literally somehow fixed it

Unfortunately those solutions do not solve my problem. I don't know how to do right now. Stuck in black screen cause a failed bios update.
So I had to flash my BIOS to the new ryzen chipset. Does this mean that I'm going to have to do that again before I try messing with this. I just need to know if I should remove my CPU before doing this?
when I changed the ram from my prebuilt pc from 16gb to 32gb 3600mhz when i checked the task manager it said 2133mhz so i went into the bios and tried changing it and when I saved the changes it cause my monitor to not display when my pc is on Its not my gpy or anything else my pc is clean i even tried cleaning the ram and it still didnt work. its a omen 25L

Screwed myself bad, I think the dell bios update I did deleted the original bios and corrupted the new one when I tried to restart the machine. I guess I have to desolder a bios chip and solder a new one or wait for the new mobo I ordered. Gotta love computers.....Thank God I don't invest my money in Computers and that what I have is a Cheap desktop with a $30 mobo otherwise I'd be pulling my hair out.
Lol turns out it was my TV not displaying my screen, tried my Extra Screen that I use for my Laptop, worked fine....Thank God..For those that have to Update your Bios on a G33M02 Board for a Dell Inspiron 530 from say 1.0.5 to 1.0.18 don't worry if your Display does not show a boot screen after a successful bios Update. Try using a different display or use the Display port on your Graphics card and it should boot up to windows/linux just fine.

What about black screen while gaming? Everything runs out okay, but when I game I quickly get black screens, just upgraded to a new CPU as well. It was list damaged but still working on ebay, and it probably the culprit, but it's stil fine and stable as long as I don't game.
Removed and replaced battery and shortened the circuit, both did not help with this problem and the VGA light stays red.
I did all this but I didn't solve the problem, the screen still remains black, I'm afraid it's the motherboard, but this is already the second time this has happened to me, I have to throw everything away.

Tried both methods multiple times but no luck. Flashed BIOS (to the latest beta and stable versions both) with MSI flashback, no luck either.
Took my old SATA SSD which has win10 installed from my old case and plugged it in and removed other storage devices from MOBO and got the only windows login screen.
Before that, just nothing. No BIOS, no MSI splash screen logo, nothing at all. Straight to the windows login screen after 5-6 seconds of blank screen. (Of course I tried to get in to the BIOS with DEL key but then nothing happened. I know the PC was in BIOS but I couldn't see it on my monitor and had to restart.)
I ordered an HDMI to D-Sub converter. I'll try when I get my hands on it.
If it does not work again, I will have to wait for my other monitor that has the DP input to return from the service. Maybe I can get signal with DP port.

i made a change in boot order from bios. im trying to install windows with usb. in start up bios entered usb mode but no display.

I had the same problem with B650 aorus mb . It took me 4 times to get to working solution . What I did in the end was , i put all the settings to default -save - restart and it work with qflash as it should . Never had to do it on b550 gigabyte board , so fk what they playing at this time round !
i built my pc and was on it for hours no problems. then i messed with the bios and got the black screen with my motherboard ports not working my ethernet port flashes orange every 15 seconds tho
Dude, when I turn off CSM, I can start my pc, but when it is booting, it says input isn't supported until my computer goes on my desktop. And I can't even log in to bios. Will this help me?

Maybe you can help me. After a ton of research, I went with a new Asus ROG Strix B550-F Gaming WIFI, a Ryzen 7 5800x3d, a Gigabyte Geforce3080 12GB CPU, 4x8 DDR4 Corsair Vengence RGB Pro Ram, and a Corsair RM850x Power Supply. I have several issues. I assembled the entire system, downloaded the Bios update, and was ready to rock. I hit the power button and nothing. I have the LED on the board but nothing powers. After trying the flash and still nothing I started to Troubleshoot. I managed to get the system to start but had to unplug the GPU to get the system to power on. I have tried 2 different USB sticks to flash the bios as directed Fat32, renamed Etc. My green light stays on, I have tried 4 or 5 times. I even removed the battery to reset the CMOS and still solid green. Problem is I have no idea if any one of these parts came DOA. Everything is New from Amazon, All boxes were sealed. I suspect the Power Supply but have no idea at this point. I am about $2800 in parts and kinda stuck.
