Needle Felting on Fabric with simple embroidery to make a quick piece of textile art

- A blend of different crafts. Small amounts of wool roving were needle felted onto fabric along with a few novelty yarns to produce a rolling hills landscape in textile. Then a few simple embroidery stitches were added, straight stitches, seed stitch and French Knots. These few stitches allowed the picture to come to life with trees, valleys, and flowers. Tracey @artfiberstitch shows you how to create your own piece of fabric art.

Thanks a million for this video! That’s exactly what I’m looking for to start adding to my creative fabric arrangement!
Excellent! it is always fun to find new things. I am glad you liked it.
Wow, that was just what I needed to get started. I love that you combine techniques.
Awesome! Thank you Heather!
Thank you, thank you!!! This is the video of the mixed fabrics that I have been searching for. I am a quilter, so I have a ton of fabrics and I just got into felting both hand and machine and I love hand stitching. You have inspired me with your videos and you are a great instructor!!! 💕
Wow thank you Carol. I love to mix up different crafts. So glad you like it.❤
Gorgeous thank you for sharing your inspiring process!
You are so welcome Melinda !

Just lovely! Opens up to endless possibilities. Thanks for sharing! 😍
Thank you, I think it does too! It will be fun to experiment
Love it I really love your work very atmospheric
Thank you so much Shirley 😊
I'm glad I found this video! I've dabbled with 3D needlefelting and am a very beginner in embroidery. I've been drawn to needlefelting in 2D and adding thread, silk, and beaded embellishments. I think that's the best of both worlds 😊 Thank you for an enjoyable and informative video!
Glad it was helpful!
Beautiful work and great inspiration ... just what I was planning to do, but wasn't certain if it would be durable enough for my projects. Thank you!
Thank you, yes it certainly opens up a lot of new things to try. I hope your projects work out well for you.
Tracey, as always -- your videos inspire me to creative action! Thank you!! I had so much fun needle felting with fabric (outside the finger stab! ; ) Thank you! (Jill)
You are so welcome! Be careful of those fingers. It is a great craft when you get the hang of it.
Just the other day I was tempted to buy a kit to do this craft but decided to watch a video first. Your picture is so beautiful, it reminds me of a painted picture. I got really inspired watching your video. I will go back and buy that kit :) thank you so much!
Go for it! I am happy I have inspired you 🙏
This is beautiful. Thank you🥰

Just love creative play ❤
So lovely
Thanks Amy 🙏
Hello, First I must say I love, love, love your videos!!! You are Blessed with your creativity. What you made was beautiful. If I could create things as half as good as you, I would be so happy.
Do you dye your own wool and fabric? If so, could you do a video on this. I find it very difficult buying fabrics that would work for a landscape. That green fabric you used was perfect. Did you dye that. If you dye your own wool and fabrics , do you ever sell them in your Etsy store. Thank you for sharing your art. Karen
Hi Karen and thank you. Yes I do dye fabrics, lace, wool, silk, threads and all sorts. And will put some more videos up next time I dye. But I do collect fabrics and that green fabric is a quilting fabric. I am always collecting ones that have less pattern and more just colour variations as I like to use it in my art. Good Luck!
Beautifully creative! Thank you for demonstrating your lovely techniques. Do you recommend framing with or without glass?
Both! Glass does keep it clean, but it depends on where it is in the house, does it reflect the light so you can’t see it. You can also get special glass that does not reflect, or Perspex.
@@artfiberstitch Thanks!!
I wish i knew what fabric the white one is. Id love to get some
I am trying to remember, it is surprising what fabrics you can needlefelt into. It just takes experimenting.
Now i have to get my needles out....where i put them i forgot. My wool is easily found. But its been too long since i have needle felted. But 2D is my favorite. Im going to give it another go. I have a couple small pictures i did 3 years ago.
Time to drag it out again, I love visiting old crafts I have done!
