  • Couching means attaching yarn, trims, speciality threads to a surface fabric through the medium of stitch. Couching, is not just sitting on the couch, although you can do that whilst couching. I use it a lot in my textile artwork, but you can use it in a lot of embroidery art projects. Follow Tracey ‪@artfiberstitch‬ as she takes you through several methods of couching and then shows you how she has incorporated it in many of her textile art works.

    Tracy, you are just an amazing artist as well as instructor! I know almost nothing about hand/slow sewing, and thanks to you I learned French knots a few weeks back, and now I can't wait to try out these beauties. Had heard of Couching but never really knew what it was, and now I DO! Thank you again!!

    Great way to use scraps and fabric staff. Your artwork is exactly what I was looking for to remind me of the stitches I used to use long ago for various projects.

    What birds are we hearing in the background?

    • @artfiberstitch
      @artfiberstitch  6 месяцев назад

      Oh my goodness Lisbeth! I have so many beautiful sounding birds here, and some with not so beautiful calls such as cockatoos and kookaburras. I live in South Eastern Queensland Australia. I have everything from Catbirds that sound like a baby crying to the beautiful call of a butcher bird.

    • @artfiberstitch
      @artfiberstitch  6 месяцев назад

      Ok Lisbeth, you had me curious so I listened to the beginning of this video and very definitely those were black cockatoos! They fly over in small groups and folklore here says that they are letting us know when it is going to rain 😀
