      That's because Lee was not game changer. Every guy you mentioned made revolution. Ok maybe not Arnold because there was Sergio Olive before him who was even more freaky. But Arnold is recognised due to his movie career. Dorian and Ronnie are true revolutioners who bring something new to the sport. Other big names like Lee Haney, Jay Cutler, Dexter Jaxon ot Phil Heath are just great bbers but not stand out names to be the greatest of all time.

    This is cool to watch and listen to how these old school bodybuilders have seen the sport change over time. I've had a lot of people tell me you need to train your stubborn muscles at least 4 times a day in order for them to mature and grow. In my head I cant seem to work that into my schedule, and it think that's why a majority of people have specific days they hit muscle groups...because we don't have time.

    • @papaspaulding
      @papaspaulding 6 лет назад +2

      nothing wrong in only hitting a muscle group once per week with good volume and intensity. just depends where you are training wise. if just starting then it'll take you much longer to grow but if muscle is of a certain size it requires hitting it hard and heavy with volume then you'll benefit from it greatly. I like ti switch from volume to frequency every few months. ill do a body part once per week until i hit a growth wall then ill switch to spreading the volume out through out the week for each muscle and hitting it twice per week. its that switch over from one to the other that keeps the muscle growing. If your in your first year etc then id highly recommend the older way in doing full body workouts 3 times a week

    • @SkrimpKing
      @SkrimpKing 5 лет назад +1

      @@alexmartin-schael7556 pretty sure you got that backwards haha. With steroids you can afford to train less often, nattys need to hit the same part 2-3 times a week. Push, pull, legs is a good split. Twice a week.

    • @alexmartin-schael7556
      @alexmartin-schael7556 5 лет назад +1

      @@SkrimpKing It's just the opposite. Steroids make your muscles to recover much faster, enabling you to train more frequently and longer. That is why many professional bodybuilders, like Lee Haney, trained twice a day, six days per week. I tried that approach once (when I was much younger) and only led me to overtraining (I then trained six days per week, but just once a day). The same happens with all the people I see replicating pro routines in the gym, which take them nowhere. It's just ridiculous to see all these people training for hours and not making any progress after years of training. Yes, the split you described is doable for a natty, depending on how hard you hit the muscles on every session. Regards.

Unlike many bodybuilders today that don’t know what effective training is so they just up their dose.

    Having natural legs genetics too is usually a good sign that you have the potential to put on mass everywhere else, so I am not surprised Joe checked Lee's legs when he first came in to gauge potential.

  • @thereelvoice.
    @thereelvoice. 4 года назад +7

    Lee and Dorian have completely different approaches to training. Dorian was all about all out intensity for each muscle group once a week and then recovery. And that included calves. Lee is more about volume, volume and more volume. Especially calves. And they both had champion physiques. Who’s right? Everyone is different and responds differently. Has anyone tried both methods and gotten results? I have. Honestly, it’s hard to say which is “better”. Both carry benefits and disadvantages.

    • @BigstickNick
      @BigstickNick Год назад

      Yeah, I’ve always said, it all works. Multiple guys on stage had different approaches or different workouts for particular muscle groups, yet they are all impressive. I’m just now trying Mike Mentzers approach. I like it due to the free time.

    Lee is the GOAT in bodybuilding, I tried both methods style of training, muscles once a week and only seen somewhat fullness, hindered definition and not much growth, than when I train everything like 3-4 times a week, muscles pop, stronger, they get ripped faster, also dieting and supps play a role in it as well but either way training everything more than twice a week you'll see a dramatic difference in your physique. Preach it Lee you the man !
