    Injury prevention from a 57 year old middle-distance runner (I know....very different from bodybuilding but the principle remains the same). exercise the muscles through their full range of movement and have a flexibility element to every training programme. Warm up....pre-stretch....training element....post stretch. (and then if you can manage it...swim. I do not know why it is but swimming, especially after a heavy hypertrophy session, is really helpful with recovery)
    And most importantly, have fun people. Life is to be lived not endured.

      @bobbykotick1163 8 лет назад +56

      +Teqo7 this advice is worth 0 dollars if you aren't on drugs. You only need 1 gram of protein per pound if you are natural and forced negatives take the body too long to recover from if you are natural. Also training a muscle once per week when you are natural is too long, when on drugs protein synthesis occurs for a longer period

    He's dead right about the abb training, I stuck to body weight exercises for years with good results. Then I tried weighted exercises which didn't make my abbs look any better but gave me double inguinal hernia's which cost me 10 months training including cardio while I waited for an operation and had to recover. Don't go keyhole surgery, recovery was a lot longer than if I'd just been cut.

It has taken me a long time to learn and to understand (still learning) all these key concepts, yet he covers just about all of them if not all of them in just 15 mins. Watch the other training videos he has good tips.

    I am not in bodybuilding, I am playing tennis and trains accordingly but this man has a lot of real knowledge. The only important thing he might not actually understand is the differences between free weights and machines training. Free weight training is important to stabilize the muscles and balance the movements which is important for various sports; tennis, football, basketball,.. etc.

    GREAT ADVICE. Very refreshing to hear Dorian tell you to listen to your body and take a rest when needed. I have very decent genetics but anytime I tried to do the Arnold "Competition training" workout from the old Arnold Encyclopedia exactly as he had it, I 'd end up.getting an injury or way over trained.

      Yates was so good he ruined BB, nobody since maybe except Ronnie has been able to achieve the size and condition of Yates. The truth is DY achieved this through he incredible work ethic and total dedication to his craft but nobody can match this so they have tried to with insulin and GH and unrealistic amounts of PEDS. Dorian has gone on record with what he used yet nobody believes him cause they feel it just wasn't possible to be like him with such little use(in comparison with today). This is why you see the pregnant bellied unconditioned monsters you see on stage at Mr O today because DY took BB to a level which is virtually impossible to reach.
