I konw its not allowed officially but i like to also use Horus herresy models and colours and just say ''yeah those are the risen'' for some extra variation.
It is 100% allowed to do that. The rule is that the base needs to be the same size, the unit has the same profile, the parts are sold by GW/Forgeworld and the model has the correct weapons.
The inner circle detachment and the raven wing detachment are actually pretty good, and I run the Lion all the time and I do fine sure it could be harder for me to win but even if I lost in a tournament I had a lot of fun.
Great vid! Im trying to decide between Dark Angels and Black Templars. I love terminators and a local store has the deathwing assault box, but I dont care for the Dark Angels outside first company. The deathwing list was a good way to see how I might play them.
The Deathwing list also pivots very easily into a Black Templars Ironstorm list. It has a couple of different units but the general core of Scouts, infiltrators, redemptors, and techmarines.
I play BT and you could easily make a custom chapter that uses both chapters iconography and have their models on the same table (deathwing knights become standard terminators, crusaders become standard intercessors and scouts). They're both robed power armored dudes and have a monastic knight tradition.
My local hobby store said their Redemptor was 42 bucks only to say it was full MSRP (75$) at the register. I was so pissed I never went back and just stuck to the local Warhammer shop

Man, I _really_ like that Deathwing list. I'm a Blood Angels player but I'm always so tempted to shift over to a different kind of Angel...
Nothing like air dropping a coffin armed with several war heads

That's unfortunate. I've always had great luck at hobby shops and bad luck at official stores.
Inner Circle detachment rocking a hot 28% win rate atm, FeelsSadMan. My 6k points of Dark Angels weeps at how trash our codex was.
ngl i was really hoping to see a Inner circle detachment list
Would you believe me if I said I could find literally 0 data for a single dark angels detachments in my research
@@Speeds_Gaming_Corner I believe it. Every few days I look it up hoping someone made a good list.
I like this army. Not interested in buying The Lion
Sacrilege. I dislike Dark Angels and even I want a Lion!
Granted its to make a really cool Farsight kitbash, but still!
buy a 3d printer, enough said.
