My only regret with the new miniature is that they didn't give him long hair. One of the more recent DA books described Azrael as having grown is black hair out to shoulder-length. While he was recalling glimpses of his past as a savage from Kimmeria, it occurred to me that he was likely Warhammer 40k's subtle nod to Conan the Barbarian. The long black hair, the play on words (Conan was from Cimmeria while Azrael is from Kimmeria), they were both from savage tribes and just as Conan went on to become a King "wearing a crown upon a troubled brow", Azrael also often finds himself navigating the shadowy politics of managing what is essentially a legion, the Inquisition, relationships with other chapters and the hunt for the Fallen. Despite the politics, he can also fight well (and smart) like that famous barbarian, trading blows with the likes of Typhus and even walking away from an encounter with Kharn. Very cool character; I look forward to seeing how he interacts with Lion.

The Lion has returned. He has gathered the loyal "Fallen" around him, seeking them one or few at a time. He is much older but wiser, calculated and adaptable. He will crush a warband of Chaos Space Marines in his first action as the returned Lord Protector. The "Unforgiven" still don't know about his return. :D They will be shocked to see whom he has gathered around him. I can't wait to see Azrael and the Lion together. The Lion is older and weaker, but his strenght of character grew. He gathers the weak and the few around him and makes them stronger. And now, he carries the Emperor's shield!

I have recently decided to start making a Dark Angels army after a lot of thought into which loyalist legion/chapter fits what I want out of the game, and the Dark Angels tick every box. This just made me all the more excited. Was that narration from before or after he became Primaris?

Though I did think the gate was also the warp storm that destroyed Caliban as well, or am I remembering that wrong? I wonder when you leave the desk company you don't bring your white suit of Terminator armor with you, and even though captains usually get Terminator armor, what was Azrael wearing for war plate I'm wondering? I mean did they give him a suit of Legacy Terminator armor from the armory? I wonder things like this cuz I mean all high-ranking members get ancient and handed down armor I just want to know what the whole deal with it is and how certain individuals get certain ones. I mean very old in this universe, LOL! Yet still something that small bothers me from time to time I mean of course he's not going to wear a bright and white well bone-white, suit of Terminator armor to take back control of the third company, but why wouldn't he get an ancient suit of, you know, LEGENDARY power armor maybe made of Auremite OR WHATNOT?? AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS ABOUT THESE THINGS?? 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Once Azrael was made chapter master he was presented the most venerated relics of the chapter, the Protector armour of the Supreme Grandmaster to symbolise his position within the chapter, Azrael was wearing Terminator armour when he was Grandmaster of the Deathwing(1st company captain) now Belial wears it, it’s like a policy in Adeptus Astartes especially Dark angelsand their successors,only the Deathwing can wear terminator armour
🤍 New names for the I Legion, the VII Legion, the X Legion and the XII Legion: Rock Angels (symbols of the Knights' Rock, the Knights' Winged Sword, Caliban's Earth Angel and Caliban's Lion-Wolf), Imperial Templars, Iron Bulls (symbol of the Gorgon Bull) and (old) War Wolves (symbol similar to the Space Wolves, but red and without fur). 🤍 Wouldn't it be better if Caliban was the mountain planet (with Knights living in rock castles) and Barbarus was the forest planet (with Necromancers living in wooden fortresses)?

Guys, do you know any good Dark Angels book? I enjoyed most of their HH books, but I found them really dumb in 40k, the ideia of leaving allies and whole populations to being slaughter just to pursue a rumors of a Fallen is dumb in my opinion (they are Knights, the should defend the weak, and reading Son of The Forest sold that aspect for me), but I'm deciding to read some books and perphaps changing my mind.

The chapter is called “ The Dark Angels”, GW absolutely knows what they’re doing. The Blood Angels and their successors have similar names e.g. Gabriel Seth, Azkaellon etc.
