The reason your Floyd reaction video got so many views is because they're one of the greatest bands ever and they have a lot of fans who know just how deep the Pink Floyd rabbit hole is and we love watching people fall into the rabbit hole for the first time. You are such a sweet kid. I love that you love this music.. this band came out in the 1970s. That’s why they look so old now. The singers name is David Gilmour. There’s a man named Roger Waters that also used to be in the band, but he tried to take control over it and he and David Gilmore do not get along anymore. David Gilmour is far superior in his vocals and his raw talent. Waters is good too but he has a serious attitude problem which is why he’s not there.

As an old fart (70) it does my heart good to see youngun's such yourself discovering and appreciating the music that our generation was raised on. I know that our older generation is always going on about how the music and bands of our time were so much better than what is being offered today - but I think it is performances like this that lend credibility to that claim. And good job not interrupting what is universally revered as one of the greatest guitar solos ever recorded! Next stop - "Sorrow" from the same P.U.L.S.E. concert. So this concert was part of a world tour playing to over 6 million people over 60 cities. They had 3 stage-sets of equipment in 53 articulated lorries weighing over 700 tons, one was in use at the current location, one was being setup at the next location and the other travelling to the location after that. Initial investment cost $4 million plus $25 million running costs, 161 crew, gross profit over $250 million. That's how you do a real tour! I am unbelievably pleased that I managed to get tickets to the night-after this recording, utterly amazing.

The drummer, NIck Mason, keyboardist Rick Wright (RIP) and guitarist David Gilmour are Pink Floyd. The first two go back to the beginning with Roger Waters (bass) and the late Syd Barret. Gilmour was brought in to cover guitar when Barret did a bit too much LSD even to the point of losing his mind and leaving the band. Later Waters left and the three continued on with guest musicians as you see here to give the full experience of their music live. The girls have been with them for quite some time. Durga, Sam and Claudia. You need to continue your journey into PF. It is a journey and one you will enjoy. Remember, a lot of their albums were conceptual and should be listened to in their entirety beginning to end. It warms this old rocker's soul to see young people enjoying our music. It was, after all, the best.

Well, after watching your reaction to the studio version, it was a foregone conclusion that you would love this Pulse version. If you react to more PF, consider that one must be a patient listener--a lot of songs are unconventional and include long intros and interludes, these are integral to the effect the band wanted to achieve. And give attention to the lyrics, they are icing on the musical cake.

OMG, when the song ended you could have heard a pin drop in that huge stadium...we had our minds blown SO much we couldn't think!! This a fantastic live version of a gorgeous song. From the reactions that I have viewed on RUclips, "Comfortably Numb" does seem to garner the highest praise for its guitar solo.
There is a Genesis song from 1973, which appears to be second only to this one, in which the guitar solo moves and impresses the first-time listeners. It is called "A Firth of Fifth", with Peter Gabriel on lead vocals, Phil Collins on drums and backing vocals, and Mike Rutherford of the 1980s band Mike and the Mechanics, on bass, 12-string rhythm guitar and bass pedals. Tony Banks wrote and played the brilliant main theme on piano, and the genius Steve Hackett plays electric lead guitar, with the amazing, soaring solo.
Be sure to listen on loudspeakers, or at least add a subwoofer to your headphones, because the bass pedals during the guitar solo will not only shake your walls, it will shake your world. And it is better to find the original studio album version, as good as Genesis were live.

They play in a two thousand-year-old recently uncovered ancient Roman amphitheatre with no audience! Their song Echoes is a true journey!
Or if you want something fast-paced and will spin your head around do the studio version of "Run Like Hell"!!
You're doing great not pausing guitar solos and you appear to have a good sense of humor! Stick with the Floyd for a while and watch your channel blow up!!!! Believe me watching people discover the genius of Pink Floyd is a treat for us! That's why your channel will blow up!!!

Welcome to the Pink Floyd rabbit hole!! What a great start for you!
There’s so much stuff to choose from. I would probably start with Shine On You Crazy Diamond, from the Delicate Sound of Thunder live tour. It has to be played LOUD for the full effect. 😉
Catch Comfortably Numb from that tour as well, because it’s interesting to see how he plays it differently every time.
Also worth hearing from Delicate Sound of Thunder: Money, On The Turning Away.
Then on to Pulse: well, it’s worth watching the whole gig from beginning to end, but highlights are One of These Days (amazing!), Another Brick In the Wall, What Do You Want From Me, Sorrow, High Hopes, Wish You Were Here, Time, Coming Back to Life, Run Like Hell.
Then I’d check out David Gilmour’s solo live album Live From Gdańsk. Also worth watching from beginning to end, but the highlights are Castellorizon / On an Island, Fat Old Sun, Wot’s… Uh, the Deal, Echoes (beyond epic!), A Great Day for Freedom, and of course, Comfortably Numb!
Some other epic live songs I’d recommend are Led Zeppelin’s Kashmir from the Celebration Day gig, Sultans of Swing by Mark Knopfler at the Live in London 1996 gig, Van Hales’s Eruption live (the 13 minute version!)…
And, well, that’s probably enough to be looking into for the moment!!
If you get through some of those, I’ll post more recommendations!!
    Bon Voyage!

I saw the Pulse tour in Columbus, Ohio in 94, 75,000 in attendance. Best song I’ve ever seen live, surreal, didn’t want that guitar solo to ever end!

One of These Days,, Run Like Hell is a life altering experience just like almost any songs from the concert. What a lucky man I am, I was born in the era that I could see this performance alive in Tampa 1994

It should be noted that only the three guys with gray hair are Pink Floyd. The rest are touring backup musicians.

Echoes from Live at Pompeii is one of the best floyd songs ever. They are playing in an old excavated amphitheater in the city of Pompeii which was destroyed by a volcano. One of these Days is also a great tune from the same video...

Earl's Court - 1995. They did 7 concerts in a row - and in one of them they played the entire album of "Dark Side of the Moon"

After this performance, I think it's safe to say that you now know that, all personal tastes aside...Pink Floyd is the shit...#1...and that Sir David Gilmour (Knighted)...is ground zero....the gold standard by which all other electric guitar gods are measured. This I've known for 50 years. Welcome to Pink Floyd, named after their 2 favorite blues artists, PINK ANDERSON and FLOYD COUNCIL. Their hypnotic blend of earthy blues and trippy space rock gets me every time.

This was The Division Bell tour in 1994. I saw it in San Diego. The stage took 35 semi trucks to haul, and they had three complete stages leapfrogging each other. The laser show was so powerful they had to divert air traffic for miles around the staduim. This was the closer before the encoure. The tour netted them around 150 million pounds. It was their most successful tour, and their last.

    Pink Floyd guitar solos:
Pulse versions of Sorrow, High Hopes
Studio versions of Time, On the Turning Away
Live version of Mother from the Wall Concert.
Aww… hell…. Just jump in with both feet. The entire albums Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and The Wall. That will get you started.

song was on the "Wall" no.1 across the world 1979 to 1980. Written originally by Dave's solo album on an acoustic guitar, then use on the "Wall". The disco ball means you are to get up and dance . Which is actually an FU to music critics that said Floyd will not sale because they don't play dance music. Another version that is the best without the big production. Just Dave playing this for the last time as he sold his "Black Strat" for $3.9 million. without his Jimi henrix guitar strap XXX which he play the National Anthem in July 4, 1970.

Just backing what others have said...this is widely considered one of the greatest live guitar solos ever played. This entire concert is flawless. Glad you've enjoyed listening to Floyd, man! They are top tier musically...no other band like them!
