Very interested about this kit overall, This will be my first custom metal case board. Can you check the pulling rate of it? Just wondering cuz I can't seem to find that info online.
Do you think the akko pom silver switches will fit the monsgeek m1 and is it easy to pull it off of the keyboard?

If it's my first keyboard I'd go with the M1, that way I already have a sturdy alu keyboard.
well, i quess if you want to spray paint the keyboard its easier without the brass eccent on it, it will make the spraying easier
They still use the gasket system like in Akko Mod 007.
I can say this is Akko MOD007 Lite Version with supported qmk/via
Gasket system is closer to 5075 than mod007. You can call it a buffed up 5075 after it hit the gym.
Hello. Is that the local version? I received my M1 yesterday and I noticed that mine didn't come with the plate mounted tpu stabs just like the one on your video. I reached out to Monsgeek about it and they confirmed that its not included in the global version. Awesome build!
I received the global version but yeah they accidentally added the TPU stabs for me.
Great video! I'll try to do the same to mine. I noticed you placed one of the included teflon pad but removed it after, what's the reason for that? Do I need to buy a separate force break mod for this keyboard?
No. You can use the teflon. I just tried a different product.

@@pusakalmkb i think the pcb support it sao maybe after you inserted the led in the correct spot like 5075b it will pretty much works like 5075b. I have seen some moders do it and it came out perfectly

I thought that the design of plate that are using platemount stabs and screw in stabs are different.
Do I really need to disassemble the PCB just to remove the stock plate-mounted stabs? The PCB foam seems to get in the way. Can I just force it out?

Hey Pusakal, I'm really torn between Q1 and M1. Budget isn't a big factor but will feel good saving a lot more if end product is of similar experience. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated if you have used a Q1 v2 recently with this M1.

@DocJuan MD I ended up getting the M1 monsgeek. Keychrons current aluminium base isn't good for 75%. Full size and bigger boards sounds better. Plus m1 had one more key on the right so i could keep pg up down home and end
What thickness poron strips did you use for the gaskets?
I used a plate foam poron gasket at the bottom so around 3-3.5mm and d65 gaskets at the top.
where are the keycaps from?
Mine didnt come with a plate mounted stab only rhe screw

Does the pcb stabs come with the board or is this just added in for you cause this is a review model? This honestly.just looks like an upgrade mod series board...its south facing and has screw in stabs and a slightly different look but just the same board...if you change the label at the back to akko there is really no point of having this other brand..... They should have placed a logo instead or a aluminum weight logo...but just a image or a minimal logo not like the spr67 one.
any issue with the white being anodized (not something like e-white)? how's your white unit, is it alright? I want to purchase the white one, but kinda wondering about the spray quality on white paint
Global version is actually e-white. I don’t know why they call it spray painted in the site. Monsgeek discord confirmed this 😊
By the way, e-white will be phased out will be replaced by silver.

With your review, how would you compare this to the 5075 and 007 of Akko?
Like, if you only had one choice. Would you rather earn more money and splurge on the 007? Or save a little bit and just get the 5075 DIY kit?
The VIA compatibility and southfacing PCB of the M1 is what's drawing me in.
M1 really has a fair price, If you want the full package with extra plate you can go with the Mod007 but if you want to upgrade later you can buy the m1 and wait for plate upgrades.
Kinda need some opinion, should I wait for the Official Release or should I pre order now since it's available now on Shopee?

If u want thockier sound than your mod,easy mod is 2layer masking tape+1layer cloth tape,the sound profile will be double than its sound like..i done it on my m1 china

Hi, please help me. I have the same build as you do in the video. My problem with this KIT is about the KTT Kang White V3 pin seem not "stick & fit" good with my PCB TTC hot swap plate. So when I type on the keyboard, some keys are not recoginze and has delay. (Maybe KTT Kang White socket is thinner than Gateron (my plate fit and work smootly with Gateron switches)). Do you have ay problems same as me? Thanks.
I haven't encountered such problems, maybe some switches have bent pins?
@@pusakalmkb I checked all the pins. The problem comes from the PCB socket. Some sockets are not close enough, that's why when put a switch in, it not totally fit the socket. Maybe I got a bad quality pcb board :(

Ohh it's the MOD007s in Very Peri finish, switches are Akko Crystal Silver and Warm Gray keycaps to top it off.

The fixes that address the ping and side's sinking issue caused by the lack of gasket
p.s the only difference i observe between International ver and CN ver is just the software and price . :P
Ohh the CN version doesn't have the added tape mod, screw-in stabilizers, and software. I don't have any problems with the sinking though, can you explain more about it so I can look by myself?
@@pusakalmkb well the new upgraded version from CN since 17th of november added all the above except software
@@pusakalmkb by sinking , originally the undersides of the cn version did not have PET tape at the corners of the pcb . Hence , the sides (without a gasket mount) sinks like titanic!

Pretty insane offering for the price, considering it's under $100 dollars and you're getting a full alu case with a lot of extra stuff. $99 is pretty competitive, and depending on where you live it could be even cheaper (I found them going for the equivalent of $78 from local vendors where I live). This could tbh probably be a go-to budget option for most people, but I have a feeling that its availability might be a bit limited.

Be careful with $78 offerings: you can get version without QMK/VIA support, no screw-in stabs out of the box and no any sticker for tape mod (not a big deal tbh).
@@BloodXlll I was planning to replace the stabs anyways, but the via qmk thing I'll keep an eye out for, thanks. I did find a few listings that said it's qmk/via compatible for around that price though, and they have a return policy as well if for whatever reason I get it and they don't have it.

Most keyboards now doesn’t need modding. Like the Monsgeek and Akko Keyboards. Just remove some foams or replace with polyfill. The only thing you’d do is build it.

What stabilizer do you use?
I combined the plate mount and screw-ins that came in the package
those akko double shot plate mount stabs are way better then the akko screw in stabs, i say this from experience!
That's why I used the double shot inserts from the plate mounts!

I think the ckear foil was meant for a tape mod, as additional dampening in the bottom seems unlikely

The force break parts should be those which have cutouts around the screws
no it's not, it's a case insulator. There's a separate one for the tape mod.

In this video I did not but I used it on my Mod007s. Monsgeek said that they are stab pads but for the kit the main purpos of that is for Forcebreak

well you can say every 75% with knob are like the 007 but they have distinct features that keeps them apart from each other. They have their own charms.
how was this compared to mod 007?
I should make a comparison video maybe next week but for now they are both made for different budget brackets. the 007s includes an extra plate while the M1 only has 1 plate but you can buy a different material soon.

I have never seen anyone file the stab wires before. Why did you do that?
Remove sharp edges from the tip and make them uniform. Owlstabs wires have pre-rounded their wires already.

i am the one from whom the idea originates from - it's actually for the force break mod! the teflon pads were readily available and do a great job, so monsgeek includes them for force break mod!
