I’m a huge advocate for teachers being well versed and knowledgeable with children with ADHD as a lot of the time they are NOT pulled from the Gen ed classroom
@@jessicah.4989 at the moment it’s not very organized 😅 some of the stuff in there are things that belong to the school or curriculum so I haven’t really done through that new office space much! But once I figure this one out I will try to share!
I absolutely love your videos! I get sad when they end each time, lol. You’re such an inspiration and I love your organization and classroom! I’m a third grade teacher as well!
You can hang things from your ceiling using magnet hooks (I use the kind that have a hook that closes) Tape 2 yardsticks together about an inch from the top. slide the hook in between the little space between the 2 sticks and raise that to the metal parts on the ceiling so you don't have to stand on chairs etc.
Katie I have loved watching this series.... 1- I LOVE the painter's tape idea for the hot glue. GENUIS. 2- Ok I was I the only one screaming masking tape???🤣 3- I am glad to see you watched your "slips, trips & falls" training video 😄
Hi, Katie! On your Wow Work, could you move the black border that’s to the left of the number 12 to the last numbers and then use that blank spot for a cute, larger piece of decor, since there aren’t student numbers there anyway? Just a thought! Love watching your videos!!
Oh so smart!! I ended up finding some black border for 99 cents at Michaels so I hope to put it up this week and fingers crossed it matches close enough!

Hi Katie, thank you for another great video. Your class is looking great, i'll bet you're getting that 'yes this is so satisfying' feeling now it's more like home for you! Blessings Susie 🙏🇬🇧
My oldest is going into 3rd grade. We are in Florida also.. I noticed when I went on to focus that he also has a homeroom teacher and then a different teacher for math and science.. he seemed excited about it. I enjoy your videos and look forward to part 5.
You could have posted a 45min-1hr classroom set-up video, and I would have happily watched it. 🙂 Your room is looking great! P.S. I really liked the yellow Classroom Set-up Part 4 thumbnail/image you included. 👍🏼
Katie, that blue painter’s tape that you used to hang up the border trim will not stick faithfully on very humid days…. When they turn off the AC on weekends it might fall off. I use tac or gorilla clear double sided hanging tape ( my colleagues and I call it booger tape😂).
Love the video! Can't wait until I get to go into my new room to start setting up. Question - what is your system for students checking out books from your classroom library?
I don't really have a system... Our school library is HUGE and honestly has more options for my third graders so we visit it often... Last year FL went through a book approval process so my students couldn't use all of my books at that time (they're all approved now -- yay!) so this year I may let them use my shelf when they finish their school library books prior to our next visit... Do you have a system that works? 😊
@@mrs_katie_in_elementary That makes sense! Thanks for your response. I'm still thinking it through. Last year was my first year teaching and I didn't have a good system. I am thinking of having students have up to 3 or so books at a time in their book bin and then they will have one day a week where they get to "book shop" if they are ready to swap them out. We do have library too once a week.
I absolutely love watching your videos! Im jealous that you get to go in your room to set up throughout the summer. We cannnot go in until the last week of July and we start August 1st. Quick question, is your wow wall fornyour homeroom only or will you have one for your other class as well? I cant wait for the next video 😊
Ok, I've been teaching for 22 years now, and I have never seen hot glue on a piece of tape! Genius! Thanks for the tip.

Noticed the Umoja banner ❤ That's the house I'm a part of at my school. The students really enjoy the house system.
