+Ace Grace If you want to speak in technicalities, it's two gems fusing together, combining traits of their physical forms (Incarnations, if you will) into one mass that moves in perfect sync and harmony. But yeah. Only gems can do it, but in the case of Steven, who's half gem, half human, he can fuse with humans (Although we only see him do it with Connie, and their relationship is special, to say the least). This song is sung on the episode where Pearl and Amethyst fuse into Opal.

here's a hint- an easier way to play e is to just put your pointer finger on the first fret fourth string, mute the third string with your middle finger, and put your ring finger on the first string of the second fret. you're welcome in advance

I "discovered' this song thanks to Team Four Star's parody "Super Saiyan". After hearing that, I sought out the original and I LOVE IT! I am 36, so I know of Steven Universe, but haven't watched it. So glad to see people loving a show so much that it gets them into music :)
Ok, change the C to a Cmaj7 (except for the transition), the G to a G7 and the E to an E7 and you've got yourself a deal. Wow... Rebecca Sugar sure loves adding a 7 to everything.

This isn't proper technique, but I always play the C string with my pointer finger, and bar the other three with my thumb, and I've found that to be a lot easier

I'm somewhat getting the hang of it but for some reason I can't tell if it's a full strum D D-U-D-U D for each or if the last D is the next chord... I THINK it's (F)D D-U-D-U (G)D D-U-D-U but my mind might be playing tricks on me? It's so frustrating my ears won't let me comprehend it.
I think it's D-D-U-D-U then the "last D" is a transition into the next chord D-D....I LITERALLY just asked the same thing! xD

For me it is useful to focus more on the rhythm of the song. Once you get it the strumming pattern will come along

I just started to try reteaching myself how to play the uke. I got one a few years ago, and it has just been collecting dust after I gave up on it because I felt like I lacked the dexterity needed. This song taught me more and actually managed to get me started back on it. But, I have a serious problem when it comes to singing and strumming at the same time. I just started yesterday, so I might just need to keep practicing.

For people stuck on the e cord you can also put your index finger on the 4 string on 1 fret your middle finger on the 3 string on 2 fret and put the one next to middle finger on 1 string 2 fret

This video helps so much I just have big trouble switching from C to G and back to C. But that's only because I'm a beginner so hopefully I can get it!

If you can't do E and don't want to do the alternative that he gave because it sounds a bit different, you could do this thing that I made up:
1st finger on the first string, second fret
3rd finger (or second depending on how big ur hand is) on the fourth string, fourth fret
I just bought an ukulele and this is gonna be the first song I learn yessss my plan is perfect

There's a handy little trick I used for E major where I barred the three strings that were in the same fret with my thumb rather than using all of my fingers. Hope this helps anybody struggling!

Hey! I know this might be weird but I find that if you put your thumb on the last three strings for the E chord, it’s way easier than what’s in the video! Hope this helps!

In the last year, I bought a ukulele and adopted a puppy. I named him Steven. He sits on my bed and watches me try to play it. He looks at me me like I'm stupid. He's not wrong.
