I’d like to acknowledge these videos aren’t perfect, and nor were they meant to be. I’m doing what I can within the constraints that I have, and I wasn’t about to let perfection get in the way of getting this important message out. As this season has improved somewhat from the last season, perhaps the next season can take that next step and I’ll be able to get the right mic and better editing software for upcoming seasons and episodes of Hempcrete in Australia.

The full video of the hempcrete cottage is in edit and almost done. Should be live in a week or so. Then I'll get onto editing the family home video that includes an interview with Ash and Jarrod. 😊

What a great house - and granny flat. Australia could produce millions of metric tone of hemp per year. New technologies such as the structural hemp block developed in canada means building with hemp becomes really cost-effective...added to that, the growing demand for laminated bamboo "timber" could actually enhance the industry and sequestration of carbon perhaps?

Hi Jeremy - what are your thoughts on HempBlocks - have you been to any yet? We are thinking of building with these, as it means a simpler build and likely faster (no curing time).

Hi Sam, I am not an expert ion hempcrete blocks sorry. I've only worked with cast in situ. I look forward to the day I get to work on a hempcrete block site!
But if you are going to live in your house for 20-30 years and it will stand and house people for possibly 100s of years than a few extra months drying time perhaps isn't much. Another consideration is the fact when you bucket into formwork you are creating a monolithic structure which will have better insulation and less air exchanges/gaps.
