@@bluethundar Maybe install 11 on top of the 10 installation. I mean just double clicking setup.exe on the 11 iso while booted to 10. That might work right?
Thank you so much. Following your instructions, I was able to install Win11 on my Late 2014 Mac Mini! One thing I ran into was an infinite loop where the installer asks me to plug in an Ethernet cable or connect to WiFi. Although the MacMini has an Ethernet port, Win11 must have been missing the drivers. I press Shift-F10 to get to the terminal. I then cd to D:\BootCamp and ran Setup.exe from there. It set up all the drivers and I was able to proceed smoothly afterwards.
once i’ve downloaded the iso and i go to bootcamp, once i click past the first page it won’t let me continue - it says i have to remove my USB. any idea why this is?? it won’t work when i try to do it without the USB either, saying it can’t install the software because it’s not currently available from the software update server.

I'm here to try and find out how Windows 10 or 11 scales, and how it works with Macbook screens. Here's some background to my enquiry: in the old days, if you deviated away from your screen's native resolution on any Windows machine, the resulting text was slightly blurry. And although many people could accept that, I definitely can't. The problem is that I want a new laptop and I've been used to using a relatively low-res 1366x768 screen for years, but they're quite rare now and I really don't want to go higher i.e. up to 1920 (aka Full HD) or 2560 (aka QHD/ 1440p). As this is a work and browsing machine only, the resulting text would be too small for me, and even though I understand that scaling has improved in the Windows operating system in recent years, deviating so far from the technical native resolution is probably going to bug me... unless it's an exact 2:1 scale. By that, I'm referring to the way that Apple laptops have, say, a 2880 screen, but display the desktop at half that resolution, meaning everything is much bigger than it would be on a 2880 res Windows machine, presumably by using two pixels to one (i.e. retina display). So, I want to know if the latest Windows o/s can scale down to exactly match the current 2880 or 3072 res Apple laptop screens (or even older 2013 screens), and if so, is it pin sharp and have the icon-scaling issues from a few years back been solved now? Alternatively (and it has been impossible to find anything at all about this), will the latest WQXGA 2880x1800 laptop screens such as those fitted to Samsung's Windows laptops scale in the same way/ perfectly if I just forget MacBooks altogether?
Hi Alex, try to do this on my 13-inch, 2020, intel based macos sequioa...but when i insert my usb drives it said i have to remove it before installation...please solve this..

Very Instructive, Clear and Simple explanation of what I was looking for. I've recengtly upgraded from a 2019 Macbook Pro to 2024 M4 with all bells and whistles and was wondering if this process will still work with my setup? I just didnt want to do anything to void warranty. Thanks
Just use rufus to remove every restriction for the iso and put the installer into a usb, then install bootcamp assistant by clicking action at the top menu bar and put that into the usb and install windows.
hey we got the same macbook 😁 I'm doing this right now Ok I've installed it but bootcamp didn't finish installing like yours did. Also no sound and how do I setup the touchpad?
For those trying to bypass the wifi part follow along right here I did this on my 2015 15in MacBook Pro Push Shift and f10 together Command promt should pop up, make sure you click on it as you might think your keyboard isn't working Soon after type this into it oobe\bypassnro After putting that push enter and it should reboot again as if you're setting it up with the language and etc. after continuing through it will now let you choose the option no wifi setup then it'll ask continue with limited access? (aka No wifi!) select it and there ya go! And that should do it continue on through with ease!
Thank you so much for your work! I am currently using Windows 10 and considering upgrading as the support for it will soon end. I have a question: does Windows 11 receive updates? It’s very important for me to keep the system in good condition.
Hi Anson, thanks for the video. Unfortunately, this method doesn't work on my 2019 MBP (Sonoma 14.4) with the current image, as Boot Camp Assistant seems to only accept Windows 10 ISO files. I also wonder if your method allows for Windows updates.
I installed a bunch of Windows updates when I first upgraded so I there is no problem there. As for the ISO issue, I'm not sure what's going on. I actually did this installation with Sonoma 14.3 and it went fine. What specific message are you getting and at what point during the installation process. Make sure both checkboxes are checked when building your installer. May want to wipe the flash drive first.
Hi. I also have a MBP 2019 16 inch and when I start Bootcamp, I don’t get a drop down menu. MacOs Sonoma 14.5. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 😊
@@AnsonAlexander On a fully updated 2019 MBP, these checkboxes do not come up. It also asks you to remove any external storage before boot camp will continue.
I think if the Win10 ISO stored somewhere on your machine it will find it and not let you change it. If you delete the Win10 ISO it will then ask you to browse for one, at which point it will let you select the Win11 ISO file.
I have something similar. I haven’t attempted to fix it yet, just looking for solutions. Never had this problem in the past on the same Mac with installing Windows 10. Perhaps it has something to do with WinPEDrivers or Bootcamp not doing a good job of creating a bootable USB… I’ll attempt to create a bootable USB in Rufus instead and download Bootcamp drivers separately…
Great! But once I’m booting windows from the usb a message pops up that drives are missing, clear that I have to use another usb drive to copy the drives to the usb to be selected at the error message but I cannot figure out what drives I need and where to download them. I’m trying the installation on a imac27 late 2014. Anyone can direct me please?
If you have problems with installation (windows installation encountered unexpected error), it’s due to windows 11 24h2 having problems with bootcamp drivers. Try using windows 11 23h2 iso or earlier or even windows 10. In the latter case you may have luck installing windows 11 over the existing windows 10 installation
Hi, first time having a mac. Will this work on the newest macbook pro? The specs are: Apple M3 Pro chip with 11‑core CPU, 14‑core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine 18GB unified memory 512GB SSD storage
I tried this procedure on my iMac 27 2020 but it doesn't work, this version of mac does not require external USB. Bootcamp asks to partition the disk, selects the Windows ISO, but stops when downloading the drivers and displays the message "Software cannot be installed because it is not currently available from the software update server". You can't even prevent it from downloading the drivers and inserting them later.
@@Bigbrothertrist I have the same issue, and my MacBook Pro is the newest Intel i9 that was last installed onto a Mac. The poster also has an Intel Mac, our are just not ancient like yours.

Downloaded the Trial Version of Parallel and it works but many of my existing applications now give me some sort of error about my "CPU not supporting AVX". Cant seem to get around this. Any suggestions?
Some software on Windows uses AVX which, unfortunately, at the moment isn’t supported in any form on M series Macs. Your older Mac might work though if you install Windows to it
Hey , always loved your guides. One question though, will you please tell that how much is the battery drain when using windows 11 in macbook?. How long does your macbook lasts. Like my thinkpad lasts 7 hours on balance mode where i usually do ms office and olay youtube and very minimal to no gaming . Will be waiting for your reply THANKS 🙏🏻
it is the same amount since your MacBook still has the same battery. It might be more or less depending on how many apps you have downloaded and things of that nature. Hope this helps!
Mine says that an error occurred right after the windows loading screen where you’re supposed to go to the setup screen. Ts always happens to me. Last it took me 3 days because of multiple errors. And now it’s not working again, GREAT
Brilliant video: I installed a second hard drive in my Macbook A1286. I haven't installed W11 yet. Will Bootcamp recognise the second drive before I install W11? My plan is to install W11 on one drive, and keep my Monterey on the other drive. Thanks.
One question: you said I have to use bootcamp while I insert an usb drive... do I have to continue to use it to boot in windows or can I remove it and boot it always in windows without usb drive?
I've been working on a MBP Mid 2012. I was unable to install Windows on the BOOTCAMP partition which Boot Camp Assistant. The error reported that Windows needed a GUID Partition Table (GPT). I'm experimenting with using macOS to delete and recreate the partition as Journaled so that the drive doesn't have MBR but rather GPT. Then, I booted to the Windows USB and chose the EFI Windows setup instead of just Windows.
I haven't tried personally but I think it needs to be 2012 or later unless you use third party software. This thread could send you down the right direction: www.reddit.com/r/Windows11/comments/15e5im1/i_got_windows_11_to_start_installing_on_a_mid/
Hi I completed the process exactly I got stuck when rebooting , windows didn’t load automatically and when I held options windows drive was not there ! Can you offer any advice cheers
Wouldn’t install on my late-2013 MBP. Tried 3x and at the end of partitioning instead of getting a Windows login box at the step where the regedit changes are made, a “Windows 11 Setup” box displayed stating “Windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Error code 0xE0000219 - 0x40031”. Only thing I could do was hit the Close button which then restarted the MBP in MacOS.
Same error here. No solution yet. Probably something wrong with the drivers that Bootcamp installs to the USB, specifically $WinPEDrivers$, they’re used during installation and might be incompatible with the latest Windows 11 24H2 release… I’ll try installing either Windows 10 or 11 23H2 and then upgrading to the latest version from there with Windows 11 Installation Assistant
In my case I have a 2015 macbook pro and it doesn't give me the option for destination disk in fact it says Please remove any external storage device attached to this system before continuing. Can I still do it without using the USB and would the steps still be the same if I do so? after selecting the amount of memory I want to allocate for windows 11?

Really great just have one problem, I don't have internet. When the pc is done and everything, I want to connect to the internet, but there is none. any fixes?
if you have mac you can get the drivers on the bootcamp application pretty sure
He goes through some options bro 4:00
Very Instructive, Clear and Simple explanation of what I was looking for. I've recengtly upgraded from a 2019 Macbook Pro to 2024 M4 with all bells and whistles and was wondering if this process will still work with my setup? I just didnt want to do anything to void warranty. Thanks
Just use rufus to remove every restriction for the iso and put the installer into a usb, then install bootcamp assistant by clicking action at the top menu bar and put that into the usb and install windows.
Mr.arson, can we install windows11 on the macbook m3 model? After installing windows11, can we delete the original partition of the mac?
No you cannot. M1-M3 model Macs do not have boot camp. Only intel model Macs. You could use something like Parallels Desktop to run windows.
hey we got the same macbook 😁 I'm doing this right now
Ok I've installed it but bootcamp didn't finish installing like yours did. Also no sound and how do I setup the touchpad?
Can use USB 3 flash drive? keyboard and mouse can it be wireless?
thanks so much it was very helpfull you the best
For those trying to bypass the wifi part follow along right here I did this on my 2015 15in MacBook Pro
Push Shift and f10 together Command promt should pop up, make sure you click on it as you might think your keyboard isn't working
Soon after type this into it
oobe\bypassnro
After putting that push enter and it should reboot again as if you're setting it up with the language and etc. after continuing through it will now let you choose the option no wifi setup then it'll ask continue with limited access? (aka No wifi!) select it and there ya go!
And that should do it continue on through with ease!
bless i’ve been trying this for 3 hours and this was my last hiccup now im all good thanks to you
how to push (shift+F10) on MacBook pro 2016 Touch Bar ??
Need Help
@@mianumair7268 were u able to figure out lol got a 19 touchbar
Worked Like A bomb
@@mianumair7268 only possible way I can think for that is plugging in a usb hub along with connecting a keyboard and doing the steps I mentioned.
thank you sir...... its hard but you made it easy
Thank you so much for your work!
I am currently using Windows 10 and considering upgrading as the support for it will soon end. I have a question: does Windows 11 receive updates?
It’s very important for me to keep the system in good condition.
amazing video thanks
I have mac 2017 touchbar . How to open cmd regedit without F11 😂 which doesn't work while installation.
I have a question. I’m trying to setup windows, but keep getting error code 0x80070103 - 0x40031. What do I do?
I have something similar. I haven’t attempted to fix it yet, just looking for solutions. Never had this problem in the past on the same Mac with installing Windows 10.
Perhaps it has something to do with WinPEDrivers or Bootcamp not doing a good job of creating a bootable USB…
I’ll attempt to create a bootable USB in Rufus instead and download Bootcamp drivers separately…
I got the same thing
I have a 2020 macbook air retina 13 inch. what do i do when the download at 0:22 doesn't work
In the latter case you may have luck installing windows 11 over the existing windows 10 installation
there is no option in boot camp to install from usb drive in fact a message says please remove external drives
Hi, first time having a mac. Will this work on the newest macbook pro?
The specs are:
Apple M3 Pro chip with 11‑core CPU, 14‑core GPU, 16‑core Neural Engine
18GB unified memory
512GB SSD storage
No, M series chips can’t run windows natively at all. You’ll have to use parallels.
Can you uninstall the macOS after the windows installation so you have a normal windows 11 "laptop"?
Thank you for the video. Do you have a video available on how to remove Windows and it's partition from mac?
I tried this procedure on my iMac 27 2020 but it doesn't work, this version of mac does not require external USB. Bootcamp asks to partition the disk, selects the Windows ISO, but stops when downloading the drivers and displays the message "Software cannot be installed because it is not currently available from the software update server". You can't even prevent it from downloading the drivers and inserting them later.
Hey I’m also having this problem did you ever find a fix?
Same here
the mac is too new. windows can only run on intel processors.
@@Bigbrothertrist I have the same issue, and my MacBook Pro is the newest Intel i9 that was last installed onto a Mac. The poster also has an Intel Mac, our are just not ancient like yours.
Same problem with an Intel iMac Pro. I think something changed in Sonoma. The OS he is using in the video is clearly an older version of Mac OS.
This was great I swear he is legit 🎉🎉🎉✅🙌🏾
I get an error in Boot Camp Assistant under Task Status as it says it's "Downloading Windows support software..." and error says "Can't install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server". Any thoughts?
same
nice video man but does this work with the Macbook pro M3?
No Intel only
my touchbar wont show up to enter F10, is there other way? thank you
I think the easiest thing would just be to plug in a USB keyboard a this step.
Your older Mac might work though if you install Windows to it
Is using open core legacy patcher to install a new macOS better or should I just install windows software?
I do both.
For me, not only does it say to remove external storage (via Type-C), but it also tells me to choose a windows 10 file
So, keep the eGPU plugged in or use the built-in HDMI out on the Mac during this install?
Mine says that an error occurred right after the windows loading screen where you’re supposed to go to the setup screen. Ts always happens to me. Last it took me 3 days because of multiple errors. And now it’s not working again, GREAT
Use windows 10. Windows 11 doesn’t work on all macs
Brilliant video: I installed a second hard drive in my Macbook A1286. I haven't installed W11 yet. Will Bootcamp recognise the second drive before I install W11? My plan is to install W11 on one drive, and keep my Monterey on the other drive.
Thanks.
how much memory would you suggest is needed on mac to install this ? and have the mac still working fine ?
One question:
you said I have to use bootcamp while I insert an usb drive... do I have to continue to use it to boot in windows or can I remove it and boot it always in windows without usb drive?
I've been working on a MBP Mid 2012. I was unable to install Windows on the BOOTCAMP partition which Boot Camp Assistant. The error reported that Windows needed a GUID Partition Table (GPT). I'm experimenting with using macOS to delete and recreate the partition as Journaled so that the drive doesn't have MBR but rather GPT. Then, I booted to the Windows USB and chose the EFI Windows setup instead of just Windows.
Please sir how to install window 10 on MacBook 2015 pro??? Please please please 🙏
Same thing but just use the Windows 2010 ISO and you don't need to do any registry changes or deal with the WiFi issue. Should go pretty smoothly.
@@AnsonAlexanderis there some issue on win 10 or win 11?coz i wanna try this method and one things it this method can be use on macbook pro 2011?
Good and clear instructions. Any advice on getting W11 on MacBook Pro with intel and T2 chip?
Would this be easier to do on a brand new Mac with no previous data? And would u do anything different?
Bro.. If we used open core legacy os sequoia (Macbook Pro 2012), can we do bootcamp windows?
In my case I have a 2015 macbook pro and it doesn't give me the option for destination disk in fact it says Please remove any external storage device attached to this system before continuing. Can I still do it without using the USB and would the steps still be the same if I do so? after selecting the amount of memory I want to allocate for windows 11?
I did everything in your manual, but when win setup started touchpad and keyboard didn’t work 😞
Tried several times with different iso.
MacBook 12 2016 Sequoia 15.0.1
Hi Anson, first thanks for this wonderful video. i ran into a little problem hoping you can help me out. i follow everything from your video but when i install window 11. i am unable to install due to different format of the hd. its telling me that i need gpt? format and i have mbr. now i know i can converted using windows terminal but would it effect the boot camp?
thanks
can we take off the usb stick or its better to leave it on the Mac once everything is done ?
This usb method is obsolete now, I got it working by modifying a windows 10 iso with the install.wim file from a windows 11 iso. Worked flawlessly without regedit. The program i used was anyburn. Sounds complicated but its very easy, found this solution in a forum.
Please note the modifications to the iso were done on a windows pc. I didn’t explore any mac methods.
Its not allowing me to post the link to the forum.
External storage device attached. bootcamp tells me to remove usb MacBook Air (13-inch, 2017)
what do now>?
How to install Windows 11 Pro OS with CoPilot+ In Macbook M3 Laptop ? Is it possible to Dual Boot Mac OS and Windows 11/12 Pro. with CoPilot+ Key?
M series Macs cannot run Boot Camp or Windows natively at all. Full stop. This only works on Intel Macs. M series Macs need to use Windows as a virtual PC with Paralells.
I have problem i tried 3 different windows 11 editions and even format everything from scratch My Macbook Stuck on Why my PC restart Loop Blue screen and keeps rebooting and same thing again any advice ?
WIIFI problem I used Pro Like you said but still I don't have USB LAn cable i Used Thunderbolt but didnt work as well as hotsport iphone
TIP : you can use Wifi USB adapter that doesn't need driver and its worked.
Do you must have a usb for this since I don't have one, would boot camp still work that way?
On the Windows installation, I am getting the following message: Install driver to show hardware. I’ve no clue what to do, please help?
Do I have to install sonoma before doing this? I have the same 2013 mbp with Big Sur.
