Bro more videos of cage building! You might possibly build the cleanest cages I’ve ever seen! You instructions are clear as day too! Best cage video by far!
Fast on Wheels Nice video ! Doing it right. That is why I asked you about a reference for my Bronco engine. After a lot of looking for a good builder I found one with their recommendation. Thanks again. I visited their shop and saw vehicles being built very well. The way we see it done in this video. Off Road takes serious work and some $$ but when done well the right way IT IS PRICELESS DRIVING IT. A world of difference from a chain shop lift kit and a new set of Rancho's when soaking up whoops at does at high speed not spilling your drink !
Awesome video! Please keep up the good work so we don't have so many people making cages (and other safety equipent) out of fence posts or having dead tubes.
they will probably do that before making the kickers in the bed so that the cage can be slid down through the floorboard after tacked. welded and then raised back through the rear roof holes.
@@mickrambo6787 with the door bars they made the cage cant drop or cab lifted unless they did them dead last.... If they removed the roof skin it would be a walk in the park
You guys are doing great work. Let me mention something to you. When you attach a roll cage to the side of and existing chassis you have to plate that attachment point and you have to fully gusset both sides of the tube with 1/8 plate. Or the cage has to sit on the frame. But you can not just weld it to the side of the chassis. It looks amazing but it is a structural failure if something happens Oh yeah any door bars have to land between the drives elbow and shoulder can’t be above the shoulder or below elbow
Thank you and I understand. This cage is sufficient for the application which is mudbogging and not so much a racing application. But it is tied to the frame as well as the cab. I appreciate your input and appreciation!
Fast on Wheels hey way it’s tied into the from is the problem with it. Like I mentioned. But if your doing a video on how to build and install a roll cage and someone watching this doesn’t know the phone way you tied it to the frame is wrong and could fail. They could get hurt.
Jesse Carbajal Thanks Jesse! This is exactly why we do it! Lots more coming ...just re doing my editing set up at the moment but will resume very soon. Thanks for the love, we appreciate it a ton!!!
Nice work ! Thanks again for the reference to Greg G's Total P engine building for my Bronco prerunner engine. I have a cage on my list do do soon for it. Wondering what the cost is for you to do it. If you want I can call or email for that. I am hoping to do it with a local friend I know that has done some but not sure it will work out. Is the aftermarket dash the best way to go ? That requires gauges, air vents, controls ? I have heard the stock dash etc.. can require a lot of work. Good video and shop I stopped by picking up my engine down there. You had a Bronco in at the time too.
at first i thought ! dan how is that ERW so thin and how are they goign to get 360 weld on those sleves lol.... then I saw the DOM ! good job guys! so entertaining to watch !
KCStrain We have a tubing notcher that is basically a horizontal belt sander that runs around a die sized for the tubing. We should do a video on this tho!
How is this truck coming along? I would really love to see how this finishes up. Were you guys contracted to just do the roll cage? I did allot of pipe bending when I was an electrician 18 yrs ago. I'm guessing that is DOM tubing, it does not look like it has much spring back like EMT or rigid pipe does. Do you have to bend past your target angle to account for spring back? At 20:56 you bring that kick right to 21". When we would do that with Rigid or EMT we would need to figure our spring back in to our measurement. Anyway, every time I watch your videos I end up coming back and learning more. This is a work of art guys. Excellent Job!!!
davkenrem On a race truck, we would cut the roof to gain full access, on this there is a small section that is unwelded on some, but we can actually get to most of it surprisingly. Having it so tight allows us to be able to stitch it to the body in a lot of spots so it becomes one with the cab which helps too.
I was wondering this exact thing glad I stumbled upon this info an this channel keep up the badass work! Can't wait to start working on my toys n learning what I can from y'all!
Dirty_Lettuce_Diesel Right on man, glad to have you! We are using the input from y’all to help hone the future content so if there’s something you wanna see let us know. Our Instagram is good too @fastonwheels 🤘
@@FastonWheels how functional is the cage then? It looks amazing, not gonna lie, you do incredibly nice work, but if I wanted to follow these tips or ideas, bjt wanted that added piece of mind. What would you suggest?
Thank you I appreciate that! The way to do it, with a cage this tight, is to remove the roof skin by drilling out the spot welds. Sometimes you can leave the tubes that go through the floor free and let the whole cage drop through the floor enough to gain access to the top!
I would pay to sit in the corner of that shop and watch and learn for a year.
davkenrem That’s one of the nicest comments we’ve ever had 😊 Thank you buddy! How much we talking?? LoL
Fast on Wheels - The next time I'm in SoCal, I will definately stop by.

Good job Nice and Clean...
Good Tips and secrets to fabrication roll cage.....👍
You guys are amazing, best roll cage video I have seen!! Hopefully you come back to youtube!
Thank you so much!! Coming back soon 🙂
how do you go about welding the top of the cage inside the cab?
they will probably do that before making the kickers in the bed so that the cage can be slid down through the floorboard after tacked. welded and then raised back through the rear roof holes.

cutting the roof off or cutting holes in the floor
That young man is getting a hellua edumacation!
A RUclips video with music I don't hate! Amazing!
Thanks Rick! 😁🙏
nice work and welds inspiring

Nice. Deserves more subs and views.
Thank you I appreciate that
Looks good 👍👌👍👌👍👌👍 keep it up dudes
Very tight work!👍🏻💪🏻
Thank you!
Jesus I’m impressed.
Looks awesome. How did you weld the top of the cage
That’s tucked. Y’all do some solid work.
Nathan Krause Appreciate that. It’s our signature 🤘

Any info on how you egg the ends of the pipe to get it to join up so seamlessly to the next pipe?
KCStrain We have a tubing notcher that is basically a horizontal belt sander that runs around a die sized for the tubing. We should do a video on this tho!
@@FastonWheels I'd love to see it! I have always used a chop saw and grinder for that type of thing!

davkenrem It’s at the owners house waiting for the next round.
Awesome hope you bring us more vids of the progress.
Looks great, why not have any X structure on the B pillar? Just unnecessary for this trucks use?
stoprefresh Thank you! When we continue the cage out the back we will do an X on the outside, that way it’s away from your head. Typically we do tho
I love you guys!!
This won’t pass tech inspection for racing, will it?
The main hoop/ b pilar has to be a continuous tube I’m pretty sure.
Nice fit, great work anyway.
Not a race truck. Thank you!
Sweeeet
Thanks Jared! ( That's my name too 🤘)
That is some epic welding, are you going to paint it?
How do you weld the backside of those tubes?

About how much is it to put a cage in a full size Bronco prerunner?
brianbirc Basic full cage is about 8500
How much do you charge for this specific job ?
What gauge tubing are you using?
.120 wall
What about top of cage welds?
There's about a half in unwelded. Not a race truck.

Was that tig welded? Were those single pass or 2 pass welds?
Edwin H Yes, TIG, single pass.
What filler rod did you use on 19:17?
Edwin H ER70S2 3/32”
What are the specs of the pipes
1.75" OD by .120" thick
You can use DOM or 4130
Thanks alot I enjoyed the video
Thanks man I appreciate that a lot!
How much do you charge to build for people bro??
Trippy loks This one was 4K my friend, we can go as extensive as you want
So are most of those bars only half welded
No, I was able to get %95 without cutting the roof
I want to buy a dirt cheap car and build a cage for it.
Then pipes look a little thin
They're solid if you place em right
That’s tucked. Y’all do some solid work.
Nathan Krause Thank you my man
