    Thanks for sharing of your hard earned experience and wisdom on general fabrication tips and tube bending do’s and don’t’s as well as your reasons and methodologies on cage construction. I really do appreciate that you explained your reasons and logic on various points in the construction of this cage. That was really helpful. Although this wasn’t a cage for a drag racing door car, the general approach, materials, construction and thinking are all the same, to keep the driver safe and add major rigidity to to the chassis. Thanks a ton, bud !

    This is a fantastic video. A few years ago I built my own cage in a 240Z, and while it turned out OK, I wasted a lot of material with screw-ups and mid-course corrections. If I had seen this video prior to the build, it would have helped immensely.

I’ve been trying to find videos on cage design or even figure out what hoop you start off with. car manufacturers work in metric Scientist work in metric you should work in metric
    there are 3 countries in the world that use the imperial system, 1 country that uses a mix of metric and imperial and 191 countries that use the metric system.
    That gives you a percentage of 4 out 195, which is 2 percent.
    In reality, most of the things made in USA use the metric system, from cars to robots. Only carpenters, travelers and liquor makers think they live in a country that uses the imperial system. For most things that have to be traded, the metric system rules. (work in metric)

    Do you do any SCCA cages? How would you do that 350z since the rules only allow only 2 bends per A pillar bars while you have 3 on yours for Champ.
    Also reverse bend door bars are not in favor and some series don't allow them. Just a thought.

  • @JeffreyBryan187
    @JeffreyBryan187 3 года назад

    How come you made such a huge point in not having a file pre made for a 350z in 1.75" tube but everytime you were inputting your measurements you had 1.50" selected for tube diameter. Like you said a different diameter tube/die will have a larger or smaller bend radius. First thing that came to mind when I saw how tight the main hoop fit.

    Just curious. When will car makers combine the all around car cage and incorporate and merge it into the entire car's body so that no one can see it from the outside and from the inside because it is inside and in between the inner walls and outer walls of the car's body? I have been waiting for someone to hit upon that idea for almost 5 years now. Now I cannot wait any longer so I have to post this comment for all to see it. So that I can see and judge who has the most engineering prowess and high caliber technical skills to take that challenge against each other.
