    I love this! I am trying to start my own crested gecko breading project, I have two females and working on finding the right male. Do you have any tips, or things you would recommend when getting started?

    • @robbysreptiles
      @robbysreptiles  Год назад +4

      Save up and buy the HIGHEST QUALITY male you can possibly afford. A single 10/10 stud will do you wonders when starting out. I built my entire company off like 3 cornerstone males. I make sure to never breed dots into patterned projects because lots of breeders will appreciate it. And recessive will always be a sound investment

    I cant wait to get my first pair of geckos. I remember when I first starting looking at them and saw your video I was like he's a photographer or something. I saw your interview on the gecko pod and was like yup. Luckily I have that background too so once I have geckos the photos will be easy :) Maybe I will get my geckos from you. I have your morph market saved. I really want to make dark supersoft emptybacks kind of like the one anthony c. has posted for like 4,200 or something right now but I cant start anywhere near that. I don't know if a certain breeder specializes in stuff like that already.

      I think AC has that market for sure however white tank exotics may be creating just what you want this season he has some nice pitch black EB stuff

      No, like do you mix a little bit in the crestie diet. I've probably seen most of your videos, and you had one where you spoke about adding goat whey. I thought it sounded like a great idea, so I do this from time to time.

    Almost all our adults LOVE crickets. I find crickets annoying and time consuming, but our reptiles do love them. I don’t feed them more as treats because the crested gecko diet is faster.

    • @robbysreptiles
      @robbysreptiles  Год назад +1

      I can't get a single one of my adults to eat bugs! I just blend them into the food

  • @billyfpv2777
    @billyfpv2777 Год назад +1

    I would have to disagree with being one of the easiest to take care of. You gotta constantly monitor their temps and humidity,mist daily,fresh food and water daily,they drop their tails super easy,jumpy very sensitive to heat,temps,humidity in general etc. Ive been keeping leopard geckos and bearded dragons 10+ years they are by far easier to care for. And recently got into cresties and learned all of this with them.

    • @robbysreptiles
      @robbysreptiles  Год назад +2

      I am sorry to hear that you've had these issues with them. It should go without saying that all of this was my opinion. There are many hurdles to overcome when you first get into anything. And with today's technologies allow for automatic systems to take care of the temps, humidity, and water. I do not offer my geckos water dishes because I spray 3x a week. And I feed them 2-3x a week. Not daily. The tail dropping is more of a random occurrence, and not something that will harm their well being.

    • @WisdomCalls
      @WisdomCalls Год назад +1

      I have about 50 crested geckos and the only one without a tail came that way. They don’t drop tails easily in my experience. In my area you only water every other day with feeding, no uvb lights, no heat lamps, and live feeders are not a necessity. I don’t know how a bearded dragon could be considered easier.
