I’d like to add that big head structure is great for females during breeding. To have extra “padding” for those mating bites is a great thing! I have some wild males that bite hard. A big crest helps the male bite in the correct area. My opinion but just something to add! Big head structure does look nice too
Great video. Lots of good info for those of us getting into breeding. We are in the middle of a relocation right now. When we get settled we plan to start breeding as business. You talked about picking up a single high quality male and several ok females. If you are starting mostly fresh, what's the best way to aquire your 1st 5 or 6 well matched geckos that are ready to breed for the project? Currently have a single female ready to breed and a male that won't be ready this season I wouldn't think.
Honestly just reach out to breeders who you admire, and explain you have a set budget and want to maximize it. What morphs you want to work with and see if they can help you out. Buy from many breeders unless it's someone who has everything and can give you small discounts for buying multiple (like I do) but there's so many great breeders to choose from
If you can afford 8+/10 females too then I highly recommend always buying the best you can. But if it was truly a tight budget, get a Stellar make and females that have attributes complimentary to the males
Great video very informative and interesting I will be getting into the hobby late January or early February get a room ready can you tell me what 10 lot ac reptile sounds like what I am looking for
Yes. Only recently have lilly whites with broken dorsal been being made. Meaning the heavily line bred and gene stacked XXX can be outcrossed to lilly and eventually make XXX with pure lilly white pattern. And no pin
A question, when working with recessive genes that are 50%-66% het (axanthic) would it be smart to buy 2 males 2 females (or 5 geckos of unknown gender and hope for the best lol) and play the odds that way, testing the two pairings and maybe switching partners after a breeding season or two if theres no axanthic hits to see if the swap pairings are hits? Thanks!
Visual ax are no longer very expensive. Don't mess with possible hets it's not worth it unless you have some money you're willing to possibly throw away. Just stick to 100% hets
@robbysreptiles Thank you Robby!! So far, 100% hets are out of my price range by a lot, so I guess I'll be saving up for those sweet sweet 100% hets then... or waiting until the price (unfortunately) comes down more. My dream is to produce high coverage lily white full pin axanthics. Possibly even Cap if I can get it for triple gene frap full pin axanthics... Someday!!
Thank you very much for all the videos you’ve made, helped me a lot !

Nice! Good point
love these longer videos!
Glad ya do!
Such a great video!
Thank you so much!
Love the “everything I use for breeding crested geckos”
Glad!
Can you do another one of these 😊
I do need to lol
I picked up a yellow cold fusion male porthole but I’m having a heck of a time finding females with black base with portholes or without pinstripes.
I've never seen a black base porthole before
Very interesting , I agree that the crown heads are more amazing 🤩 can I ask if super soft geckos have any shedding problems?
Nope!!!

I got the ultra high end ones. Honestly just dm me and I can even go through the ones I got and sell you them around cost
those are the tub im talking about in the back ground what are they
Tall Narrow from the container store
What do you use to stick the gutter guard to the containers?
I just put them in there
Ohh I thought that was the mesh on the outside of the containers! Lol do you just use normal screen and glue it to create the vents?
Oh that is just screen I got glued
@@robbysreptiles lol thank you!
Gigachad brings the Thunder!
Damn straight lol
I got four good head structured meals and like seven females that are beautiful I love breeding them and seeing what they come out like
Awesome!!! I'd say head structure is one of the best selling points of any gecko
I've been eyeing gigachad and a few others. How do I get ahold of you? Just inquire on morphmarket on a gecko and get a chat going ?
Yeah email through morph market or dm me on instagram
You probably have XXX lilly whites already. Lilly and XXX are separate so I think your saying that you wanna make a lilly gene that mimics a XXX?
Yes. Only recently have lilly whites with broken dorsal been being made. Meaning the heavily line bred and gene stacked XXX can be outcrossed to lilly and eventually make XXX with pure lilly white pattern. And no pin
How can you tell if a male is a 9/10 or a 10/10
It's just personal preference. Look at how perfectly it achieves exactly what you're going for stuff like that
Can't wait to see your fiancé in the next podcast
Mhm
Even in my minds eye I cannot conceive of a patterned Dal that looks attractive. Just blech. 🤢
Based
It would be cool if A crested gecko and a gargoyle gecko could breed
I know people make successful hybrids with other new Caledonian geckos
Do you have more then one Instagram I'm not getting anything recently from you
I have my one instagram. There is a scam account that instagram will not take down no matter how hard I try
@@robbysreptiles I must have the scam account doesn't have anything posted since July
I still can't find the real one
Lol on the 69 joke are the wink 😉

I'm selling some 100% hets for 600 and accepting 30 day payment plans on them :)
I'm making visual ax fraps 2024 :)
