Fun stat about Super Bowl 49, with that game Brady became the only qb to finish with 4 four touchdowns and over 300 yards passing in a playoff game against that great Legion of Boom Seahawk Defense that led the nfl in total defense and dominated from 2012-2015. Pretty impressive considering they also faced Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, and Matt Ryan in playoff games during that stretch of time, none of whom achieved those same marks Brady did in Super Bowl 49.
Did you just start following them within that span to believe it's only been the last decade (aside from the 2018 regular season) defined by ineptitude for the Bears? It's probably been closer to 95% if not higher of everything they've done beyond 1985 which has resulted in futility and failure.
These ratings are a little unnecessarily tough considering the level of difficulty, the relentless pass rush (Giants), and how well Brady played at at the pivotal moments of every single Super Bowl game. In every single Super Bowl Game -- all 10 of them -- Tom Brady had put his Team ahead in the 4th Quarter at the very end, and in a position to win ( Tied in the case of Atlanta). In three games, The Patriots Defense just laid down on the final possession and had failed to keep the other Team out of the End Zone (Giants, Eagles). In one of the games, Bill Belichick even helped the Eagles out by unnecessarily BENCHING his own best Cornerback (Malcolm Butler), which wasted Brady's record 500-yard performance, and in 2008 Belichick forfeited away an easy 45-yard Field Goal (Dome stadium) and forced Brady to instead go for a low percentage 4th -n- 13 against the Giants Blitz ( they lost by 3-points - hence NOT very smart Coaching at all here). So Tom Brady's record should have really been 10 - 0 in these Super Bowls. He played that well. Tom Brady put his Team ahead in the 4th Quarter at the end and in a position to win in every single Super Bowl. NO ONE WILL EVER DUPLICATE OR MATCH THAT RECORD. Rating: LEGEND!! -- This is Babe Ruth / Michael Jordan category performance. You will not ever see this again.

@joef7417 You wanna talk about QBs carried by their defense you are in the wrong place, I’m sure there’s a Peyton Manning video somewhere you can find.
@joef7417 That is the most common argument for people saying brady is overrated what? People always act like he had a million weapons and the greatest defense ever. And for parts of his career that’s not wrong, but that’s literally every great player ever. Which is why I brought up Peyton. Because nobody argues about Peyton being overrated even though he only won rings with cracked defenses.
We will NEVER see another player like Tom Brady in the history of sports, to be that dominant for over 20 years into your 40’s is actually mind boggling, same thing goes for Lebron as well and Messi and Ronaldo.
Is it a hot take to say that Brady isn’t the GOAT? If you’re looking at it from an outside perspective I’m not sure how you don’t pick someone like Dan Marino or Joe Montana over Brady(and at at the rate he’s going Mahomes is gonna take the crown eventually). Brady’s defenses while he was with the pats ranked 8th, 10th, 9th, 8th, 5th, 8th, 4th, 2nd, 4th, 1st, and 6th with the only “outliers” being 2002 and 2011 in which his defenses ranked 17th and 15th. And on top of that he had one of the most brilliant coaching minds to ever live. The only thing I’d give him that was insane was his mind. The man could pick apart defenses like it was nothing. Everything else about him was somewhere between meh and good. Average arm, good accuracy, terrible mobility, etc. I’m not saying he was a bad QB in the slightest I just think that he was carried by his situation as well as luck much more than other QBs who were just better football players than him
In 3 out of 4 NFC title games, Montanna’s defense never gave up more than 6 points. Brady in his entire career never had that. It’s not luck when you reach 10 SBs.
@@daviddechamplain5718 well yea cuz Montanna only made it to four to Brady’s ten. Brady won a SB with his new team while Montanna was unable to do that with the chiefs. Brady also has a higher career passer rating and better TD to INT ratio. Mahomes who’s this era star says he’s chasing Brady and that sums it up to me.
What’s amazing about his career, Brady never really had a bad SB. Some mediocre ones in the Rams games, but even in those games still made the drive to get the GW score.
Two mehs against the Rams (one as basically a rookie), and two more against the Giants. That's more mediocre Super Bowl performances than almost anyone has appearances.

The funniest thing about Brady's Super Bowl win with the Bucs is listening to pundits say Patrick Mahomes was still the best player on the field in a 32-9 loss.
My own ranking on a A-F tier: 01 Rams: D Tier. Didn't deserve Super Bowl MVP. Did lead a GW drive, but it was dink and dunks and wasn't called for Grounding. 03 Panthers: B Tier. Besides the bad pick, he played pretty well. 04 Eagles: C Tier. Solid Game manager. 07 Giants: F Tier. Uncomfortable all game. Couldn't get set, and couldn't play with the Giants D. 11 Giants: D Tier. Had a bad safety, a bad pick, and overthrew Welker in a pass that would have won the game. 14 Seahawks: B Tier. Besides a bad pick, he made the comeback and played very well against the toughest D of the 2010's. 16 Falcons. C Tier. Hot Take, Brady's role in the comeback is minimal. If the Falcons score off the inside kick, they lose. If they don't get the fumble recovery, they don't have time to come back. If the Falcons don't drain the TO and kick the FG after the Julio catch, they lose. 18 Eagles. A Tier. Brady's best super bowl is the one they lost. He truly did everything he could... Except catch. 19 Rams. F Tier. Bad game for literally everyone on both sides. He did nothing impressive, nor did anyone. 20 Bucs. C Tier. Game manager. He didn't need to do much with the suffocating Bucs D.
I think that's a little unfair for SB 55. He still played great on offense even if the defense was the main reason they won. I do agree that he shouldn't have been MVP of his first SB. Should have been Ty Law.
@@gbrow1604 I think Brady played well in the 2nd half. But if it wasn't for a lot of falling apart by the falcons and stellar defense, he does have the time to come back.
With how he trashed a couple of the early SB performances, genuinely surprised he gave them C tier and not D. This whole ranking skewed towards the upper end of the tier list.
Based off of his language later in the video I believe this ranking isn’t just taking his Super Bowls into account. Like Brady certainly had some below average games but none of them belong in D tier because other QBs have had worse.
@@fortynights1513 considering the time period of the nfl (less pass happy than today), what the overall game plan was (short, safe throws) and the iconic game winning drive, I’m not sure why anyone would really give it lower than a C. He did what he was asked to do and didn’t make any mistakes.
I can't believe we live in a world where Tom Brady can win seven Super Bowls but my dad still couldn't come back with the milk The funniest stat for his Patriots career to me is that with the 13-3 victory in SB53, the Patriots scored the fewest points of any winner BUT ALSO this was (at the time) the only time Brady played in a Super Bowl that was decided by more than 1 score. As a lifetime pats fan I can probably predict this list… I’ll edit this comment after I’m done watching to see how close and where I went wrong in more detail. Here we go! 2002: got the B right. Agreed on all fronts 2004: I was waivering between S and A tier but have to agree with your A tier rating. That game was a tale of two halves kinda (1st and 3rd being nothing like 2nd and 4th) and Brady shined in those offensive quarters. What keeps him out of that S tier would be how much he was silenced in those quarters. Which is really nit-picking at this point, but we’re talking about the best here. 2005: I agree with the B rating. It was a good performance and everything you expect. Nothing more nothing less. Just how you want it. 2008: I was going to say D tier, but you’re quite generous rating that as C tier. He was just being destroyed by the D line all night and the giants defense looked like they came out of a Time Machine from the 80’s to win that game. Brady did what he could but ultimately he was manhandled and we couldn’t get points up on the board and that’s why we don’t have a perfect season. All thanks to the giants defense and David fucking Tyree. 2012: I agree with C tier. It was a mid performance with stupid mistakes and it led to another painful loss. Fuck Mario Manningham. 2015: had me on the fence between A and S tier but I’ll agree with you there with the S tier. It was just a remarkable performance and I had full confidence that whole game because of that man. Up until the end but yeah that’s a difference story…but yeah. Top class performance. Had me in tears after that victory. Amazing performance. Amazing victory. 2017: I already know this is gonna be an S tier performance due to the magic that happened in the second half. It’s hard to find words but that was the happiest day of my life and because of that- yes that’s an S tier. And would you look at that, you and I both agree! 2018: ah great the eagles game. Brady put up a stellar performance and did everything he could, but the defense just absolutely everything to let him down. That was an S tier performance that will always be forgotten about because of that highly highly disappointing loss. Kudos to nick foles though. That was unexpected. To say the least… 2019: yep. C tier. Nothing more to be said. That game was 98% defense lol. 2021: you had me scared when you were saying that this could be an S tier performance lol. It was definitely an A tier game. It was just a flush, great performance by Brady. But didnt ever have the magic to be in the S column. You and I agree on a lot of stuff and it was great to hear your thoughts on my QB. Great video. Thanks!

It's interesting -- Brady won his 3rd SB in 2005. If Marshawn gets the hand-off to prevent Russel from throwing away the game to Malcolm Butler and if the Falcons don't choke away 28-3, Brady doesn't win his next SB until 14 years later in 2019. That's crazy to think about.
Yo they put the 2007 season Super Bowl at at C when it was the greatest offense with the greatest WR other then Rice in Moss vs a QB who missed the playoffs more then he made them (and was a wild card team )and you are looked at as the greatest team of all time up to that point . Tom even laughed when he was told that the giants said they would only score 17 because at the time no offense has scored more points then them up to that point . So they go out and score 14 lol ….. yeah sounds like D to me .Tom thought 17 was funny and didn’t even get that high with the greatest offense of all time . Definitely a D
I disagree that the seahawks and falcon superbowls deserve S tier. One half of greatness does not bring a terrible half of football up to S. S should be reserved for an amazing individual performance throughout.

The early and mid Patriot dynasty was built around defense. I think Brady's great, but if a few other QB's had those teams, they'd have done just as well. For example, Joe Montana's career Super Bowl QB rating is 127.8 (Brady is 97.7), but his defense was never as good and there were other great teams at the same time so he didn't get as many chances.
@@daviddechamplain5718 Joe's defenses were routinely top 5 in the league and on average only gave up 16.5 points in the superbowl, while in Tom's first three his defense gave up on average 22.5. No doubt Tom had great defenses but Joe had as good if not better defenses. As far as the rating a couple factors are that the system Joe played in empathized efficiency, not accusing Joe of being a "system qb"but there's no doubt the offense he played in helped him a lot. Also if look at the per attempts Tom usually attempted significantly more passes in the sb than Joe and higher attempts usually deludes efficiency.

Not only did he go to a new team with a new coach, he immediately won that team a Super Bowl. His (most likely) last season ever was sadly the most disappointing one of his career (which could be put on both the coaching/receivers dropping passes for the Bucs to the fact that he was going through a divorce and was snowballing down hill with his mental state losing easy to win games).

You can't be lucky for nearly a quarter century
@@jrad410 On the other hand, Montana's career Super Bowl QB rating is 127.8 to Brady's 97.7. Brady was a great QB no doubt, but the greatest?
@@daviddechamplain5718 well yea cuz Montanna only made it to four to Brady’s ten. Brady won a SB with his new team while Montanna was unable to do that with the chiefs. He mentions Brady having “terrible mobility” but doesn’t understand how you don’t pick Dan Marino over him like Marino was oh so mobile 😂
What’s amazing about his career, Brady never really had a bad SB. Some mediocre ones in the Rams games, but even in those games still made the drive to get the GW score.

Another Banger from KTO
Legend.
The funniest thing about Brady's Super Bowl win with the Bucs is listening to pundits say Patrick Mahomes was still the best player on the field in a 32-9 loss.
He’s catching up and might surpass him
My own ranking on a A-F tier:
01 Rams: D Tier.
Interesting. I wouldn’t say brady was minimal in the comeback, but I think James White was definitely the most important piece

As a lifetime pats fan I can probably predict this list… I’ll edit this comment after I’m done watching to see how close and where I went wrong in more detail.
Here we go!
2002: got the B right. Agreed on all fronts
2004: I was waivering between S and A tier but have to agree with your A tier rating.
To say the least…
2019: yep. C tier. Nothing more to be said. That game was 98% defense lol.
2021: you had me scared when you were saying that this could be an S tier performance lol. It was definitely an A tier game. It was just a flush, great performance by Brady. But didnt ever have the magic to be in the S column.

Super Bowl 53 would’ve been better if it weren’t for the no pass interference call in the NFC Championship

Also if look at the per attempts Tom usually attempted significantly more passes in the sb than Joe and higher attempts usually deludes efficiency.

are we gonna talk about deflategate and spygate and the horrible calls to favorite Tom
edit oh yeah his top 5 receiver core, top 5 defense, top 5 o line to carry him? he’s not the goat when he has the best team
The fact that he could have went 10/10 . Still tho .. Brady is the king of the kings .
I feel like you're being a bit generous with this tier list lol
How has he been to 10?!
great defense great coaching and him making great plays all into 1 team
i hoep someone can do this with Lebron's 10 NBA finals appearances too, would be sick
Basketball is for special needs kids.
@@jennyanydots2389 someone wasn't tall enough to play :(
@@sidthetallkid I could read and write and do basic addition so I was automatically disqualified unfortunately.
@@jennyanydots2389 unfortunately those skills won't put you anywhere near making even one NBA player's yearly salary if you took your entire lifetime's earnings and added them together. FeelsBadMan
@@jennyanydots2389 can't wait to watch you go D1 in reading and writing!
As much shit as Brady gets for cheating allegations (which I think the "Worst" one that is actually backed up by real facts was Deflate-gate which if the ball had more grip, it would still give the same advantage to the other team's QB right?) and as much as I hated seeing him constantly win, I kind of feel bad for his last season.
Even Deflategate was a joke--the NFL's own investigation admitted they had nothing on Brady, just that the guy they hired thought it was sus he didn't hand over his cellphone
I was hoping your favorite play would be when Brady went out to throw a block for Blount
Surprised 2008 and 2018 aren’t d tier, it’s your own opinion I know but it just seems too kind for his sample size
Ughh time to relive pain
know you are a real brady fan when your fav play is a run for a first down
says who how can you tell me that I'm not brady fan because I disagree with you that like telling to not label myself black
When a black 1st in everything I do like if I were a QB I would a black QB and black man first because when I go home the racist people who are sick and have a severe mental illness of hatred and lies history and want to try and tell me what to do nah FAM they can't tell me what to think I am uncontrollable negro period
I can like brady and not agree with everything he does
I like his vegan diet and it proves to work not this meat eating dead flesh diet
ten bucks he comes back after feburay
He officially retired. He notified the NFL.
@@gbrow1604 if he does come back. What then
W idea

False, check out the patriots vs titans in 2009
Obviously, it would be a much shorter video, but I'd love to see Joe Montana's Super Bowl tier list.
I just looked it up, his career Super Bowl QB rating is 127.8
@@daviddechamplain5718 Yeah, the only question is are all of his games S tier, or did he have an off day and only end up in A.
Opposing team don't go zone D against Tom Brady challenge (level impossible)
how did you not put brady vs rams in d tier 😭
so funny that PHILLY special was illegal formation..plus his insecure coach benched Butler
I say Brady has 4 legendary superbowl performances. His performances against the Panthers, Seahawks, Falcons, and Eagles (2nd time) come to mind. That's crazy, Montana only won 4 and only appeared in 4 superbowls alone.

Why even put D tier on here if ur not gonna use it?
Tom is *NOT* on Ricky Proehl's Christmas List.
Before the video starts, I will put down my rankings for each Super Bowl performance: At best being C+(52) and the worst being F(his first one)
Profile pic checks out
An *F* - he was SB MVP you halfwit 😂
Waiting also over here chump
