    I think the best Eagles team not to win the Super Bowl was a team that didn't even make the playoffs: the 1991 team. Randall Cunningham was coming off his best season in 1990 and expectations were through the roof, but he went down in Week 1. The Eagles went through that season with like four different QBs and rode one of the best defenses of all time (5 All Pros) to a 10-6 record and missed the playoffs. I've always thought if Cunningham had not gotten hurt they would've been unstoppable. Because they didn't make the playoffs hardly anyone remembers. The D-line had Reggie White, Jerome Brown, and Clyde Simmons at the peaks of their careers. That team would make a fascinating subject for one of your videos.

    • @daTruChosen
      @daTruChosen 6 лет назад +21

      You are CORRECT. The 1991 Philadelphia Eagles had the greatest defense; statistically, of all time. They lost Cunningham, and were backed up by three of the worst qbs I have ever seen... we still finished 10 - 6. Our division was loaded back then, though... the Redskins, Giants, and Cowboys were all Super Bowl caliber teams that year, if I'm not mistaken.

      Foles has better stats than Wentz as an Eagle. He should start this season. But the Eagles will tempt the football gods by benching their Super Bowl MVP. Wentz had better win a SB in an Eagles uniform or he will forever be haunted by Foles. I like them both, but I'd stick with Nick.

    You right man, that team should've won. That team had that monster defense in prime form with Dawkins, Trotter, Sheppard, Sheldon Brown, Kearse, etc. If McNabb and Owens could've kept their egos in check that team could've continued to be great. Both were dumb AF for letting that whole situation get out of hand, but I think it had more to do with McNabb having to share the spotlight.

You can bring up spygate all you want but it was crap like that that cost the Eagles this game. Andy Reid and his notoriously bad clock management skills kill them in the biggest moment.

      Irene Williams Well... you don’t say “Rome started its empire only when it conquered [a certain number of kingdoms]”. You say it started an empire when it actually STARTED an empire, even if, technically, yes it wasn’t yet an empire at the start. So “starting a dynasty” and “cementing a dynasty” are two completely different things. And it’s the second one that’s right.

    • @ZhangK71
      @ZhangK71 6 лет назад +4

      Irene Williams The current Patriots run of brilliance has already lost a Super Bowl before - back in 2007 AND 2011. But did you say their dynasty ended then? If so, how did you feel about the two more they won afterwards? What about all the conference championships they lost? Or the fact that they didn’t even make the playoffs in 2002? Did that break the “one-championship” dynasty that they had in 2001? Does that mean 2001, 2003, 2004 is actually just 2003, 2004?

    Yeah man, this team was the one I grew up watching, I'll never forget I was like 12 years old and we beat the 13-3 Bears in Chicago to go-to the NFC championship against the Rams. It was always fun to be an Eagles fan, especially growing up in Philly. I feel I was kind of spoiled because my first real years understanding the game as a true fan, I got to see the Eagles be amazing and go-to The NFC championship 2001,2002,2003, and finally a Superbowl 2004 and then another NFC championship 2008. But man does it feel great to finally finish everything, and we did it against three amazing teams as underdogs, Falcons then Vikings and then To top it off the Patriots.

    • @ExtremelyToxic

      ps3 illuminati not fully true. We didn't force any turnovers and still only lost by 3 McNabb threw three picks, one in the rezone. And he threw up on the field - _-

    • @ExtremelyToxic
      @ExtremelyToxic 6 лет назад +4

      ps3 illuminati that's not the point.... Three picks bro. Brady had 500 passing yards this year and we still won. Why? Cause Foles didn't throw THREE FUCKING PICKS AND PUKE ON THE FIELD

    • @ExtremelyToxic
      @ExtremelyToxic 6 лет назад +2

      ps3 illuminati all I'm saying is that if you look back historically. That's the patriots lowest scoring victory in the super bowl. I'm pretty sure. You can't stop Brady, but our defense slowed him down and we only lost by thrre points.... And McNabb THREW A PICK IN THE RED ZONE. We had David Akers, essentially three points guaranteed. But McNabb threw it away

    • @pp3k3jamail
      @pp3k3jamail 6 лет назад +1

      Nitro Gaming Some of you are dumb Eagle fans that blame McNabb too damn much first of all you're not going to win a Super Bowl when your quarterback throws 50+ times the eagles only had 48 yards rushing that's typical Andy Reid play calling. How about Jim Johnson and the defense not covering Mike Vrabel on that touchdown when he did it the year before against the Panthers and a couple of times that season. How about the defense in the second half making Deion Branch look like Jerry Rice 11 catches for 180 really and you want to put it all on McNabb go fuck yourself.

    • @ExtremelyToxic
      @ExtremelyToxic 6 лет назад

      MICOLE WHYTE I am not putting all the name on McNabb... No shit the okay calling was horrible. Especially having such a great running back, such as Westbrook. But three picks. Including one in the rezone, which would have tied the game (retrospectively) if we had just gotten the field goal. But putting blame on the defense instead of the offense is nonsense. Especially when the qb gives the opposing team 3 extra possessions.... The team was still better than the patriots on the whole. They just had injuries, bad play calling, the flu, etc etc...
