      deharleyva ...or the famous “Tuskegee Experiments” where the U.S Medical Association asked for Black Male volunteers for a medical experiment with the promise of free medical treatment during & after for themselves & immediate family (if they needed medical treatment unrelated to their father or husband’s ailment) plus room & board during the span of the experiment. Poor Black Males from rural Alabama were injected with the viral bacteria that causes a vereneal disease to see how long after being infected it took to see symptoms & to document them. But the uproar was because a few researching doctors went rogue & instead of giving test subjects the antidote, which was penicillin (discovered to kill the Syphillis bacterial virus a few years prior) it was withheld to see how long it took for the disease to cause other stages such as lost of eye sight, &/or unconscious coma before treatment. Sometimes they withheld the antidote to document how long it took from being infected to death. Some died but most went blind, became sterile or their mental health was affected 100% percent. This went on for over 3 decades until it was caught & stopped. Specific laws were enacted & enforced because of these egregious acts towards poor African American Males & it wasn’t fully acknowledged by the United States until the Nineties ... Tuskegee is famous also for George Washington Carver & his inventions & discoveries, most done at his alma mater Tuskegee Institute (Now University), an H.B.C.U located in Alabama... 👍🏾

      Chadwicked B .... Best damn Pilots in the Army Air Corps during WWII !! My Paternal Grandfather, although not an official Tuskegee trained pilot flew with them in Europe from 1942 until the end of the war. He was an Allied Pilot, trained in Liverpool, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 by the British Royal Air Force. My Grandfather is from Belize, a country in Central America on the Coast of the Caribbean Sea. Back in 1943, Belize was a colony of the Crown, Great Britain 🇬🇧 under Queen Elizabeth II. When Germany declared War on France, The U.S & Great Britain, England had young men between 20 & 25 who had finished their studies at University level who wanted to learn to fly & defend the crown to go to their town’s city hall so that they could see if they were eligible via birth papers and could past their physicals & mental assessment before being inducted in England’s Armed Forces. This was done in every colony of Great Britain including Jamaica 🇯🇲, Trinidad 🇹🇹 &Tobago, The British Virgin Islands 🇻🇬, Fiji 🇫🇯, New Zealand 🇳🇿, Australia 🇦🇺, Hong Kong 🇭🇰, India 🇮🇳 Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 and 2 provinces in Canada 🇨🇦 (remember this is 1942). After training my grandfather unit was assigned to Italy (I forget the town at this moment) & flew several Allied missions alongside their regiment. I can remember him telling me that during the war, It was the first time he ever experienced racism & name calling & it wasn’t from captured German flyers from the Luftwaffe. It was from his own so called Allied Caucasian American flyboys. So sorry I turned my comment into a short essay but it brought back memories of my Grandfather & his war stories... 🙂👍🏾

      @sheawee 6 лет назад

      @@Mentek86 The median home price in most of that area of NJ is high. It's right outside Manhattan. $411k gets you a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath house there. Median home price is no indicator of status in that area of the country. As a matter of fact, here is a pic showing what West Orange looks like: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Orange,_New_Jersey#/media/File:Main_Street,_West_Orange,_New_Jersey.jpg
      Look, I'm not saying Will was a poor black kid raised by a single mom living in a tiny house surrounded by crime, I'm just saying that is not an uncommon narrative in college athletics. Many athletes DO come from that background. I'm only refuting your point because I do not think it's accurate.

He was checking the score on his phone and the game cast said that the browns had attempted a field goal but it was taking forever to load and he kept wondering if there was a penalty, and then I said out loud “ what if they blocked it and ran it back for a touchdown?” And that’s exactly what happened.

      I don't know why y'all are putting Scout on the list because they may be BY FAR the worst recruiting service in the country. Its funny how he has Fields at the end of the video as the #1 recruit when every other recruiting service has Trevor Lawrence. There is a reason why Georgia never recruited Fields until Lawrence committed to Clemson because Georgia went hard after Lawrence before they ever even considered offering Fields. You ask any college coach and Lawrence would be the guy every one of them would want and it wouldn't be close.

    Julio could become arguably the greatest wr an history. In his 8 years, he averages 90.4 yards per game, and if he keeps that averages for the next 8 years, he will pass Jerry Rice in receiving yards, having the most of all time. He also just became the 5th receiver in history to have three straight 1,500 yard seasons. He also recently passed Calvin Johnson, with the fastest wr in history to reach 10,000 yards receiving

    The thing about high school rankings now is its about what school you go to and what kind of connections your coach got. We had a guy in our team that was good but was only a first team district player getting small d2 offers he went to a bigger school doing the same thing and became a top 25 player mid season. All about connections and competition

    What you said about Pryor is.....exactly right. Buckeyes fans like myself do have a weird relationship with him. I kinda love him, kinda don't, and really wish for his sake that he would have given up on the QB dreams much earlier than he did. I think he is a much better receiver, though certainly not great, than he ever was as a QB. But he did make a very interesting career for himself, so I guess we have to call it a success, especially considering most of the other guys on this list never made it into the NFL.

    Sometimes I forget how young people are. I heard in this video that he was surprised to see how these players have fared since that draft. Just wait till you start remembering, and thinking back about those players just coming into the league when they are retiring hopefully many years from now. Personally, I had that moment when Derek Jeter was retiring. I still had it in my head that he was this new kid on the yankees. I'm born and raised in the Bronx and I pretty much guarantee I'm older than most people in this comment section, so when something like that happens, you realize you're an official old man. For all you young guys, stay young. It sucks up here. Hold on to your youth it's tightly as you can for as long as you can and never let it go. I got to go take my Geritol now, love these videos, keep up the good work, cheers.

      @@actsismmljcorrectlyobeyed6190 Given the time demands of how much they workout and practice, they are essentially full time employees as football players, but for which they get no salaried recompense. The players' skill is their athletic ability, and they aren't allowed to use it to earn money.
      Meanwhile, the college football industrial complex is a multi-billion dollar industry that doesn't adequately compensate its employees (players), while also tightly restricting and controlling the conditions of where and when they can work. And if you believe in free markets and capitalism why the hell shouldn't a player be able to sell his own image/jersey/autograph? Every other person in society is allowed to!
      Finally, the whole concept of 'amateurism' is a relic from the 19th century British aristocracy, where 'trying too hard' (i.e., being 'professional') was somehow seen as being 'unsporting', which is an easy attitude to take when you're wealthy and upper-class but doesn't have much relevancy to today's college athlete.
