This is the the perfect watch for a 1 watch collection.
My favorite watch ever, the only problem with it, is it is to perfect. I may never buy another watch and this one may never break.

Almost perfect, but the bip sound is a little lower in comparison with the W800H.

One of the cool things about a Casio digital atomic/solar watch is that for collectors, it is not only a practical watch, but it can just sit in the watch box for months at a time and isn't dead when you go to put it on. I just strapped on my MTG-9000A today for the first time in many months. It woke up, with the correct time after DST ended and it had synced just last night. Wow.
Can verify this too! Ive been wearing my autos for almost a year exclusively. I thought for sure my solar G's would be dead as a doornail. Pulled out my 5610 and 6900 and they are both on med and are accurate to the second. Unreal. Topping them both up now on my chargers to throw them back into the rotation!
One of the best watches ever made. I've put mine through some of the toughest daily tasks and environments for years and although it's very banged up and scratched up it still functions perfectly. Very reliable. I've been tempted by the GW5000u which seems to be the ultimate square but even though the metal case is a plus point the addes weight seems like it might be a downside compared to this one. I think the DW5600 and the GW5000 both look better than this one but this one has the best price to performance ratio and specs for the money.

I’m wearing mine now. It’s just so practical. Although I wouldn’t mind if it were a little bigger. The day and date are a tad small for old eyes.

You’ll love it! It’s retro cool and it always work! I have mine for a year now. I’m more happy with this watch than my iPhone because when the iPhone 40 comes out in 2042 this watch will still be working 😂

Agreed! It is my favorite daily, occasionally I switch it up but I start to miss it lol. I did switch the strap out just to suit me a bit better, but I love the 5610u! Eager to see how long it lasts me.

I got mine a few years back, it is perhaps too good a watch. In that the price is good, features are great, completely reliable and easy to wear outside of formal settings. Its turned into a default every day watch and I rarely wear the rest of my collection. I still collect watches, but the GW-M5610U is one of the best examples of designed for a purpose and just works I've ever seen.

Great review. I bought the same model. l loved mine so much. I ordered mine from Japan, throughout a proxy, because it was a Japan domestic model. It was a blued screen model. My only concern is about the multi band 6. I'm in Montreal area so I have to rely on the atomic clock in Colorado. I press 'Get' but I don't always have the 'received' appearing of the top left of the screen. I put it near the window and orient it south west where is roughly Colorado. I don't know if someone has a tip to give me about what to do more. I also wonder why they don't do the exact model but adding the Bluetooth function. Keep up the good word. Yah the weird thing is if I wear mine at night it does a way better job of receiving the signal, I guess I’m an antenna haha!
If this watch only had an orange backlight option it would've been perfect for me, but I'd buy it regardless. Had a LW-200 as a child, it got stolen but the orange backlight was so comfortable to look at.
Ive seen 5610u with the orange screen, they out there, not my jam but looks nice
I have changed the plastic shroud to a titanium one with no text. Looks great. Three niggles: 1. LCD contrast is poor, looks like something from 40 years ago. 2. The bottons are difficult to press even with small fingers, 3. The EL of the old version looks much better than a single (thus uneven) LED of this current version

This is my most recommended G-shock when asked. Well, I'd go for the GW-M5610U-1CJF which has the blue border line, but a cosmetic difference only.

5610 is better - cheaper and exact same module inside. The 5000 is a bit bigger and has a different back

I have a bunch of watches - Longines, Tudor, and others but I keep putting the 5610 on mostly at home. It is always accurate and no issues - an absolute gem of a watch!

I agree with the points made in the video except that I think the strap could be more comfortable given the price. It's the same strap as the cheaper 5600. The fatal flaw that this watch is the poor legibility at low viewing angles. Most reviewers don't mention this. A tool watch just needs to work without compromise. If I'm working with my hands and need to check the time, I may not have the luxury to moving my wrist or head much to ensure legibility. I think Casio dropped ball on the display. I have the 5600 square as well and that does not have the same issue. I'm actually quite disappointed by Casio for this oversight. In the end, I decided to keep the watch despite this flaw because of all the other features that it does have.
I find it extremely comfortable, not sure what I'd change to make it better
My favorite Casio is the GBD-200 with the much better MIP negative Display..( for me the most important thing on a watch ..).better buttons...better alarm sound and better flexible strap than my GW-M5610U...but the last one is more Classic looks ...Solar and Atomic time...and better counters..Excellent also ! ..😊 The GBD-200 contra is..no real Count Down Timer...strange Smartwatch functions which nobody uses ..🥴

my only complaint is the viewing angle with this module (3495) its crappy imo compared to its old version
True - the DW5600 and Casio a700 have better viewing numbers
My favourite is the GW-5000U. It's almost perfect (I wish the buttons were just like in the metal ones)
But I'm still tempted by this 5610. I know it's the same module and to 99% of the people it's the same watch. But, should I get a 5610? Am I crazy?

Why does the illumination turn off when any button is pressed?
Why is there only one snoozeable alarm?
Why aren’t there settings for WEEKDAY and WEEKEND alarms?
Why can the hour chime be automatically silenced from 11:00 PM until the morning alarm?
And why hasn’t an effective vibrate feature been added to this watch?
*If they included these features, you’d have THE ONLY WATCH YOU NEED!*
That is a lot to expect from a small, digital wristwatch, but a smart watch will do all of that for you

Fantastic watch. Had to send it back though, couldn’t hear any alarms. Beeps beyond quiet. Can hear alarm on regular DW5600 just fine.

I've had the dw5600, gwb5600 (4), gmwb5000, and gws5600u among the square G Shocks. I moved off of all of these after I got the dw5040pg1. Hands down my favorite square.
