- Boy singer Cormac sings his own Ave Maria version of the Christmas classic Mary, Did You Know? as this year’s festive holiday cover. 13-year-old Cormac Thompson has been singing since he was a young boy. His debut album Hear My Voice, released when he was just 11 years old, became a Classic FM Album of The Week.
Since this, Cormac’s treble voice has earned him a place in the final of Young Chorister of the Year-the BBC Songs Of Praise choirboy/girl competition-and an appearance on Britain’s Got Talent.
This year, Cormac will be performing at Celebrating Christmas-the Salvation Army’s carol concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

RECORDED OCTOBER 2022 I first heard this beautiful carol sung by Leah, a finalist in the BBC Songs of Praise, Chorister of the Year in December 2020. I've wanted to sing it ever since. BIG thanks to Simon Hanhart and Richard Cottle for doing such a brilliant job with the track & for their creativity with that very special, little extra bit, as a nod to my chorister roots #avemaria 🤗🤗
In one way it is a little bit sad that 2023 will see me bid goodbye to this very special voice range but I like to see it as a new beginning and not the end. The world changed a lot in 2022 but the comfort that music brings helps it to survive through conflict and my thoughts are with those whose Christmas this year couldn't be more different than to 2021
