We love this song because it makes us think about Mary’s remarkable journey. We’re sure it must have difficult for Mary to have her first baby in a stable, and to relocate her family multiple times. And we bet while she was in the thick of it all, she probably didn’t feel as special as we now know her to be.
It makes us think about our own lives, and how sometimes our efforts to do good can at times feel invisible. Then we remember Mary, and we believe that if we keep sharing hope and spreading joy that someday someone will ask of us the same question we asked of Mary in this song. I am weeping because of the beauty of this song and the beauty of the union of this Christian family. My dear girlfriend is going through a difficult marriage and her husband has been so abusive for so long, that their teenage daughter has gone off the rails. But the Shaw ather-daughter relationship is so beautiful and so God-ordained. Thank you to all the fathers who are Shepherds in their family and who lead their children in love.

When I sang the Messiah in college, the director told us that if we really paid attention to the meaning of the words we were singing that we would automatically make the right sounds. I believe that this is the secret to your wonderful performances, that you really embody the message of the songs. The result is that your performances really touch our hearts and souls.

I by chance found this song today the 24th, Dec. 2021, for the first time in my life. I've heard so many versions today, and this Father/Daughter duo is by far the very best version I've heard. They both made me have a very good cry, from beginning to end with their voices. Now I can release my sorrow for what I have done, and in what I have failed to do. Therefore my brothers, and sisters please pray for me to the Lord our God.

Having my own baby boy on Christmas Eve, almost 21 years ago now, this song has such a special place in my heart. As I look at the face of my beautiful baby boy, I can't help but wonder what it woild have been like for Mary. Imagine what it must have been like to know you are kissing the face of God.

I have been listening to you both from the beginning and the spirit manifested from your singing has been a true joy, but “Mary did you know” was so touching just now as I listened to it.
