  • I got the ’Chorus Jig’ from vol II of ‘A Selection of Scotch, English, Irish and Foreign Airs’ by James Aird (1782). I know of a 7-part version of the tune in the Goodman manuscripts and a 3-part version in O’Neill’s. Although (to my ear anyway) this much earlier 5-part version is by far the nicest. Just a perfect tune for pipes. Played here on the c. 1760 C# set made by Egan of Dublin and restored by Sam Lawrence.
