Hiram Abiff Hi Hiram, currently working on my first solo album...will be releasing it within the next two months. If you subscribe i'll be able to keep you posted about it!! Cheers Chris
Chris, I need you to know that over the years, you've secured a firm and permanent place in my heart. What you do isn't playing music, it's speaking to the soul in a language that only the soul can fully understand. This isn't meant to fluff your ego, though you'd be damn right to have a big one, but just to express my gratitude for you and what you do. I've had mornings that were so dark, I wasn't sure if I'd even be able to see the sun when I went outside. My solution, nine times out of ten, is to grab a mug of coffee and listen to your playing. That first sip of coffee wakes me up, and the first note from your pipes always blows those storm clouds away. Thank you, Chris, for sharing your gifts with all of us!
This is such a beautiful sound. It's stunning. It touches my heart. I love it. I'm not Irish. I'm Ukrainian but your music crosses cultural boundaries.💚💚💚💚
Chris: We are the McMullens over here in Texas. We came here from Dromore, County Tyrone many years ago, but I had to write you and let you know that we love hearing your great music. We listen to everything new you post. I grew up playing the highland pipes, but I always wished that I could have played the Uillean pipes. You're music isn't great……it's phenomenal, and we're very proud of you as McMullens. I don't know if you speak Irish at all, ach ba mhaith liom a rá gur maith linn do chuid ceol, agus tá muid ag súil go mór leis achen amhran go gcuireann tú anseo ar You tube. Go raibh mile maith agat as do cholceathreaca anseo i dTexas. Le meas, Faber McMullen, Navasota, Texas
My Grandfather, Frank George, is a very well known musician. He is best known for his fiddle and banjo playing, but he played both the Highland and Uilleann Pipes. I showed him some of your videos last spring and he said you are one of the best Uilleann pipers he has ever heard.
I was trying to find words for it but couldn’t. There is such soul and depth to pipe music. Tugs are the heartstrings. This is stunning! I wish I could see Ireland, stupid COVID even cancelled my dance classes. 😫
Your music is a sword in the heart and a pillow for the soul. The hours you've spent is the love you have. Tears you've made as I stamp my foot. Back to my roots. A room full of people not giving a feck. Massive respect 💪
Beyond superb, Chris. You voice three Celtic spirits at once - past, present, and future (as from Abortach) - in a timeless blend. Your harmonic work, especially at 2:30-3:00 and 4:00-to end, in "I Am Asleep," ascends to the pinnacle. Thank you for your mastery and sharing it in the best acoustical kitchen in the northern hemisphere!
I’ve just come back to this fine piece after a couple if years and it sounds as fresh and vibrant as when I first heard it….wonderful! Chris, I hope you’re still with the pipes and in good and rude health.
you are covering songs made in the past decade, but you make them sound like they came from the homeland many centuries ago...bravo, sir, and much FIRE \M/
This is so impressive. I can only imagine how challenging the uilleann pipes are to play, but you do so with perfection. Both pieces are beautiful. The first has a haunting feel and the reel is just good fun! Thanks for sharing this with the world!
A wonderful way to set me up for the rest of the day by listening to this exhilarating, joyous and emotional piece. Thank you Chris, you've made dark days brighter again! 👉 👌😊
Squeezing a goose under the arm. When I hear these pipes airs I moved to melancholy, reflection, or fight. Like irish blues music . Reels on the other and get the feet moving like a banjo.
I just want you to know your rendition here, and on Spotify, are amongst the most beautiful sounds I have ever heard in my 30 years of existence. Not once in the hundreds and hundreds of times I have listened to it have I not got chills at the first air.
Travelling from a county Down to county Galway for a long weekend to propose to my now wife it was in Galway town at a music shop I heard this tune I couldn't hear enough . I bought the CD and one of Davy Spillane also it's all I played the whole 4 day's. The Uileann pipes move me like no other musical instrument. They never fail to calm me and take me away. Great tune beautifully played. Thank you. Liked and subscribed.
Beautiful portrayal, sir. Very well done. This is easily my favorite pieces since the first time I heard it some decades ago. Well done, and thank you soo much for keeping this alive and well.
TheSingingBarmaid Thank you very much, Appreciate the support. My debut album is available here if it interests you. chrismcmullan.bandcamp.com/releases
Superb, man. Chills all the way through. Some kind of genius that playing. If real music were where 'pop' is, this chap would own 5 supercars (should he chose to) and be a household name.
Lovely stuff. Me and some friends play both these tunes on the Irish Warpipes/ Piob Mor and you play with beautiful pace and clarity both tunes. Very very nice.
Where can I get your albums? And if you don't have any, why the hell not?

I'm surprised the neighbors don't break down the doors. To give standing ovations, that is. Awesome!
My neighbors would try to get me evicted.
My neighbors would bring beer.
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

There is sitting a man in a kitchen and plays such a music! Sometimes the world shows it is better than it seems mostly.
I feel like when he gets up in silence at the end there should be thunderous applause and weeping. Terrific!
Always go clean mental when I hear the uilleann pipes being played flat out
That was and still is an incredible play. I've been listening to it for many years, also sending it to my friends.
One of the best pipe players ive heard

is he also a doctor?
He hasnt heard many uilleann pipers.
Joseph Barton - I am guessing: neither have you.
@@dcartier1692 I am one. Studied under paddy keenan
Joseph Barton - which makes your apparently vitriolic comment above very puzzling indeed ...
That first air brings a tear to my eye every time
whenever I miss Ireland I listen to the ueilleann pipes...makes me choke up then smile!!!
Me too, and I'm not even from Ireland.
Me neighter..... but it brings you somehow home ....
I was trying to find words for it but couldn’t. There is such soul and depth to pipe music. Tugs are the heartstrings. This is stunning! I wish I could see Ireland, stupid COVID even cancelled my dance classes. 😫
Every so often I come back to this video... it's just too good
Best rendition of Clumsy Lover I’ve ever heard.
Your music is a sword in the heart and a pillow for the soul. The hours you've spent is the love you have. Tears you've made as I stamp my foot. Back to my roots. A room full of people not giving a feck. Massive respect 💪
The more I listen to this the more I like it - It's magnificent ❤❤
Holy Shit Lad!!!! My Gawd that's good!

Thank you Blancolirio, this video was a few years ago now but have fond memories recording it 👍🏻
Gives me chills every time, even three years after the first time I heard it.

Thanks for the kind words Dennis 🙂
Haunting and beautiful one moment, and then the next it is so full of pure joy it is like the sunshine breaking the storm clouds.
My mind goes to images of Connemara and the West Coast when I listen to I Am Asleep and to Limerick and Tipp when I hear clumsy lover.
There may or may not have been a tear coming out of my eye. Stop judging. This is everything I wanted to hear. Thanks!

That's great to hear Trevor.... I should probably do a new version of this.
In my kitchen I generally make soup. But oh my goodness, this sounds way better than soup.
By far this is the best version of I am Asleep ever... nobody else seems to capture the emotion behind this tune
I could barely stay in my chair hearing that reel! Great playing, man, squeeze on...
Well done, I've never seen anyone play the clumsey lover on the uilleanns, very well done.
you are covering songs made in the past decade, but you make them sound like they came from the homeland many centuries ago...bravo, sir, and much FIRE \M/
