I like to imagine we are in an alternate reality where Hannibal won the Battle of Zama and we are all watching Heir of Rome play Carthage: Total War 2.
It's a really interesting what if, look how many Latin roots are in the words we are using to talk right now, would those be replaced with Pelapanisian roots? Would we be speaking a Celtic language entirely instead of English because there wouldn't be a power vacuum in Britain? It's bananas just how important Zama is to literally every way we do things today.
Evening Heir. I would have said Carthage missed her elephants, but the Roman skirmishes ruled the field in this one so I doubt they would have made much of a difference.
The new rules for this Historic Matchup are the following -Rome- Max 3 of the same, Rome only has access to the following units : Infantry-Vigiles, Hastati, Principes, Triarii, and Soccii units- Cavalry -Equites, Soccii cav units and dogs. Missiles- Levees, velites, archers and sligners ( max 2 of sligner or archer combined) -------------o----------------------------------o-----------------------------------o---------------- -Carthage- Carthage has access to all units. -------------o----------------------------------o-----------------------------------o---------------- Player 1- Melee infantry, Pikes. -------------o----------------------------------o-----------------------------------o---------------- Player 2- Spears, missiles, elephants.( Minimum 3 missiles) -------------o----------------------------------o-----------------------------------o---------------- Player 3- Cavalry and missiles cav. -------------o----------------------------------o-----------------------------------o----------------
How can I send you my replays? I have some really cool rome 2 battles. I have been playing the game since 2016 I believe & follow your channel since then
Bigger shield bigger spear. They kicks Acies and triplex you good bru first and closest enemy line - hastati; second line - principes; third and last line - triarii, being one with the lemons pine nuts and wine olive oiled and rdy to battle
not that i'm a multiplayer guy but i can't see any equally-skilled battle between carthage and rome being won by carthage. roman sword and spear infantry is just insanely strong. i feel like triarii are key to any good rome army but auxiliary infantry are also a fantastic pick, especially when supported with leadership bonus whether general or eagle cohort etc. when you have a few triarii plus javelins , enemy cavalry might as well not exist, and even your bog standard legionaries can deal to practically any other infantry unit when played well
Love Sub Commanders! These are some of the coolest ways to play this game. 3x the micro and 3x the detail!

And speaking German
Rome had already survived several crushing defeats at the hand of Hannibal, so how do you think the outcome of the battle of Zama alone could matter?
I really, really appreciate the large return of Rome 2 commented battles ! I check your Channel everyday like in 2014
Same
Rome played aggressive from the beginning and the constant force punished Carthage for each and every error.
Carthage vs Rome battles never get old. Thanks for sharing
Love these sub-commanders battles! Very creative way to play multiplayer
I’d like to see some multiplayer battles with the DLC factions. Watching an Empire Divided or Rise of the Republic battle would be cool!

Love this battle and the rome 2 content in general, keep it up!
Love the good old grudge matches between Carthage and Rome
Absolutely amazing video, well done to both sides

Always a good day when Rome makes Carthage pay. Great battle
God, I loved this comeback to Rome !
Are you still doing the Rome 2 Campaign?
Awesome battle

Carthage was way more passive, they got outmaneuvered out from over the high ground, and they were too late to react to the cav charges.
ROMANS TO A MAN vs CARTHAGEEEEEEE, WHAT IS NOT YOUR PROFESSION!!!! (get it, because they used mercenaries and auxillaries)
CA have done Carthage dirty with the unit roster.
Carthage fighting Rome in the hills of Africa? Well we all know how that ended historicly.
sub commanders is great fun the only problem is not many players i haves seen play it

Is your Rome play through dead?
Be cool if you could cast an NTW3 or Field command Napoleon match
