If you want to know what we all consider American royalty, it’s Dolly Parton. Came from poverty. Achieved superstardom due to insane songwriting and singing ability. Shares her fortune for good and to lift others. Celebrates America and her heritage and spreads happiness. She is the American dream.
Dolly is a prolific singer/songwriter and has written over 3000 songs. She wrote I Will Always Love You that Whitney Houston made famous. She grew up poor in the region in a family of 12 kids. She made Dollywood to help her region of Pigeon Forge. Not all theme park food is that good. She donates books to school children. Wonderful woman.
Dolly started her Imagination Station as a tribute to her father who could not read or write. To date they’ve given away 3 million books. We consider her a national treasure and Dollywood is more than a theme park. Well worth the time and money!
Dolly is a truly angelic person. Strong, Smart, Sassy. We love her. She created Dollywood to help boost the local economy of her hometown/region. She thinks of everyone. She even gave a million dollars in cash to help find the Covid vaccine for children. Truly, she is a gift to humanity.
My family spends every other year in the Smokey Mtns. A whole week together. My brother's family and I spend one day at Dollywood! I have ridden EVERY roller coaster there!! It's so soooo much fun! I absolutely LOVE roller coasters! It's the only place you can scream and NOT cause panic! We love it! ❤
Dollywood is such a lovely place. It's not a super popular or well-known theme park compared to the rest of the US but it's very Southern. Luscious green atmosphere in the mountains, the best food, lovely people. Some of my best childhood memories were here just being surrounded by the scenery - clean and green, surrounded by tasty smells, it's a warm hug for the soul with some adrenaline from the rides. A little disappointed they didn't try the Tennessee Tornado because it's the only rollercoaster that's chaotic but relaxing lol
So Dollywood is in the Smoky Mountains -- one of the biggest tourist Destinations in the U.S. Dollywood is one of the most famous Amusement Parks in America.....Dolly Parton is THE most famous Female Country Western Music singer in the World. That about covers it! Come visit us in East Tennessee!
This video just barely scratched the surface of everything in that park. You might need a week to experience everything just in the park and you couldn't experience everything in Gatlingburg and Pigeon Forge even in a month. Things not seen in the video are a LOT of rides including that train that is on a several mile loop and depending on the season they may have a live show running or decorations you go past in the woods. A blacksmith shop and forge with stuff for sale, live demonstrations, and they even take custom orders. A full shop that builds custom wagons and carriages that are for sale. A candle maker and shop. A glassblower that you can watch making stuff that is sold in that shop. Not only are there other food stands they didn't show there are multiple full on restaurants inside the park with fantastic menus. All kinds of theaters and shows and performances in addition to people you saw like that banjo player. They also do seasonal shows, decorations, and foods. In Pigeon Forge and Gatlingburg you will find not only Dollywood and the neighboring waterpark but also dozens of go kart tracks, mini golf course, a full size golf course, arcades, theaters and dinner theaters, escape rooms, weird museums, horseback riding, hiking trails, kayaking, white water rafting, toobing, swimming holes, more varied restaurants than you will believe. shopping with everything from standard tshirts and tourist junk to craftsmen selling handmade stuff including furniture. I'm sure I am forgetting other things. It truly is a giant playground with something for everyone.
I grew up a couple of hours away in the same mountain range, and while I haven't been to Dollywood since I was in middleschool in the mid-2000s, it looks like it hasn't changed much. It's really expensive like most theme parks, but it's much more enjoyable in my opinion than something like King's Island or definitely Disney. It all feels rustic and embedded in the culture of the Appalachians and Great Smoky Mountains, and the stuff on offer is good quality. Loads of food, live music, things for sale made by hand in traditional methods, and of course the rides. It's worth a visit for sure but the strategy is to pick a time in the late Autumn on a warm day and pack comfortable shoes.
It’s look like a fun place with great food and after recording I looked up the history of the theme park and it was interesting the name changed and how it started
I would love to go to Dollywood. Even more so after watching this video. And the smoky Mountains are so beautiful. I live about 11 Hours away in Northeast Ohio. Maybe one day..
Ouch! My ears.... I keep forgetting that folks like screaming on those damned roller coasters! I never ever wanna be on one again too. Once is enough for me!
If it makes you feel any better, quite a lot of American theme park food is sub-par and expensive. However, there's a theme park in Pennsylvania that's supposed to have even better food than Dollywood's.
@@nickjreacts gimme a minute; I'll look it up . . . . . . . okay, it's called Knoebels in Columbia County, Pennsylvania. I'm not familiar with that part of the state but I'd be willing to go! They have a Wikipedia entry if you want to research further.

She is much loved across the UK as well
The difference is she earned the royalty status. She wasn’t born into it.

I love that! We love her music in the UK
Yes Nick,
Eating a bunch of food and getting on rides is like putting a can of beer in a paint shaker.😮
Oh I love the way you said that lol, what a great way to explain the situation!

Yea the Nashville Hot Chicken was the trip before this one and OMG, it was hilarious and shocking that they made it through, LOL!!
I missed that one but I will check that out in the next couple of days for sure

I’m looking forward to one day visiting America
"we had a jolly-dolly good time"...."we'll see you Dolly soon" 😂😂

I've never been to DollyWood but I know people who have been. They had a really good time and wished they had more then just a weekend there.
It looked fun, I would want to spend more than one day there

Christmas is magical! My friends have season passes and go 3-5 times a year.
If you haven't been since school it's worth it if you love roller coasters. I went with friends and one day was not nearly enough to do everything.
How these two ( Jolly) aren't as big as houses is beyond me!
I agree lol they eat so much
the crew probably helped them finish off the bread
Oh I’m sure they did! It looked really good

A lot classier and more tastedul than other plastic-y theme parks.
It looked like a great place to visit
I have neen in Pigeon Forge, but not at Dollywood. Driving through that area is a nightmare, it's hours at 2mph maximum.
The theme park looks good
If you just want to go to the Smokies, or up to Gatlinburg, go through Townsend instead of Pigeon Forge. It's a more peaceful drive.
You need to watch it when they went to Texas baseball game
I reacted to the Texas ballpark video if that’s the one you mean
Ouch! My ears.... I keep forgetting that folks like screaming on those damned roller coasters! I never ever wanna be on one again too. Once is enough for me!
You need to feel sorry for the people that live close to them
I scream on Millennium Force at Cedar Point to help me not gray out. 😂
that pie slice is for one person's desert after dinner.
That’s a big slice for one person
@@nickjreacts Yes that is true. But deny that you would try to eat it all 😁
If you think her park is good you should listen to her sing

Oh wow what theme park is that?
Lets all throw pies at each other to settle it.

Many things going on in America 😂😂😂
This park and the mountains it’s in are very pretty mate. It’s loads of fun it is.
The apple pie slice is meant to serve 4 people, not one. The last price I saw was approx. $19.00. ♥🤍💙
