    Every time I do yoga for the first time in a long time, tears start welling up in my eyes. It makes me speculate about how little time I give to myself and that makes me sad. Thanks for sharing.

      I think yoga can unlock a lot of tension and stress in the body, so lots of people feel emotions afterwards. Try to bring your awareness to the sensations of the emotions in your body, that can be very therapeutic. 😊

    When people say mean things to or about you, it’s not about you. It’s almost always about them and their insecurities. Sometimes we want to take things a little personally, because it means that we’re important. But truth be told, people are mostly thinking about themselves. And they don’t care about us as much as we’d like to think they do. For me, this was the best realization. People don’t remember what you wore or said nearly as much as you think about it. Let’s stop obsessing and taking ourselves so seriously.

    Out of all the YBC yoga videos I have watched, this is by far my favourite. I follow it at least once a week, and usually more often than that. It is my perfect yoga session. Not too long, challenging (for me) but not difficult. And I love the sound of Candace's voice on this one. Maybe it is because she has recorded the commentary after filming. Anyway, it's euphonic. I wish there were more videos like this one.

    Thanks Candace. I went to a Vinyasa class yesterday here in Bogota and was totally out of my depth! Trying to follow everything in Spanish wasn't too great either.
    I am going to try to follow your class at home before venturing back to the studio. I felt like giving up yesterday, but your video has given me hope.

    • @yogabycandace
      @yogabycandace  9 лет назад

      Calum Page Aw, I'm SO happy to hear that this was helpful and that it turned it around for you. Def don't give up. If you're living abroad (and that's what it sounds like?) it can be so frustrating but might be a good way to learn Spanish? I lived in Germany for the last few years and actually TAUGHT yoga ....the problem is that my German is rudimentary at best (huge understatement) so you can imagine my embarrassment. I had 50 people in my classes and there I was speaking like a 4 year old! Haha. Just do the best you can and let that be enough and when you need some English, def check out my channel. :) Feel free to pop over to yogabycandace.com and forum.yogabycandace.com for more yoga-related stuff. Cheers!

    This is a wonderful video; your detailed instructions, patient voice, and kind encouragement will help every beginner.
    I have been doing your videos since last fall, and I have gained strength in my upper neck-- hence do not get the strain and pain in my C-spine I usually get while riding my bike. Please note, I do not have a neck injury, it's just that Yoga in general has strengthened my neck muscles so that my long bike rides are now more comfortable. Of course other muscles are stronger too, but this is an area of contention for seasonal recreational cyclists like me! Thank you!

    Very nicely done. Good, clear instructions. I have practiced yoga in a class, so it didn't feel rushed. I bought a couple yoga videos but Candace gives much better instructions. In time with the movements and understandable. No weird cosmic stuff like "feel at one with the universe." I need to be reminded of foot placement, proper posture and so on. Cosmic is nice, but only if its helpful. And not lagging behind the video or too far ahead. Keep it up. Thanks.

    I felt this was definitely a video for beginners who'd been doing yoga a while. I was constantly looking up & interrupting any flow just to check if my toes were meant to be flat or tucked under and where my breathing was at. I was going slower, like you said, but then it was too slow & felt rushed.

    • @aileenmcdaid2769

      i completely agree XD it's a great flow, but I'm /just/ starting out, like this is my third time trying to do something (the previous ones were for pain relief in my back). I'll probably come back to this one, but it was going so fast for just starting out ;-;

    That was great, thank you! Your voice was really calming and even though some bits were hard for me as I'm new, I found this video very comfortable to follow :)

    Anyone else turn the volume right up on their laptop as Candace has such a soft voice...then she lulls you into a safe sense of calm at the end and bam the video ends and an advert blares out afterwards!!!? ahahaha, heart attack material! Otherwise love your videos :)

    Thank you very much! Great sequence pre-flight to loosen up the body. Love seeing you beautiful dog on your mat. My dog always used to love laying on my mat and 'helping' me (by licking my face during savasna or going under me during plank or down dog) with my practice. It's funny how dogs and animals do yoga instinctively (e.g. Everytime my dog got up she would do an up-dog, down dog, some mountain climbers and let out a big sigh), yet we humans need instruction.

    This is my favorite. It’s my go-to when I have to stop the one I’m on, pissed off, cursing, and very un-yoga-like. I can’t stand too much talking....then I put on this sweet little flow, and all is well. I

    Returning to this one. Thank you Candace. Is it wrong to just love the beginning of this with the dog😁A Malamute I think! Wonderful all round ❤️

    Love the fact that you don't try to incorporate hindi needlessly in your sequence. I just can't concentrate with people murdering the language and mostly burst out laughing... And there goes the sequence... Thanks for a great sequence. Have a good one. Cheers

    This was so relaxing candace. I don't know if this is normal, but when I do the chavasana pose at the end. I hope I spelled it right. I sometimes start to cry.

      It's relatively normal - just an emotional release, nothing to worry about :)

    I wish I felt like you Holly but this beginners sequence is a total workout for me, as I never did yoga before and I am almost 60 years young! I have one issue that you may be able to help with Candice (thanks for the foot sequence), is that sometimes a muscle on the top of my right thighs twists painfully.when doing some of the poses in this beginners flow. It also hurts sometimes when I take my right leg out of my jeans/pants. I hope that explains where it is, as I have no idea of it's name. Thank you again for this freebie and for being a caring person.

      +Diana Liddelow I wish I could offer an explanation but I'm not sure what muscle it is.... but the general rule of thumb for yoga is that there should never be any pain. Discomfort from tight muscles, that's normal, but pain is something we want to avoid so if you ever feel actual pain, definitely back off and take it easy.

      thank you Candace! I will back off and maybe ask my physio what he thinks as I have had this spasoming
      on and off since I was young.
