I really like what they did with Dio and Jotaro's dynamic in this. Jotaro feels a lot more human, whereas in the anime, he's much more inflappable, especially in the death of Kakyoin. Dio also relies a lot more on his natural vampiric abilities in this take, mostly using The World to freeze time (love the usage of the word "freeze," btw) or match blows with Star Platinum. The OVA didn't pull any punches with the horrific aspects of Dio either, such as innocent bystanders getting caught in the crossfire. I love how it took itself a little more seriously than even Araki himself did, especially when Dio powers himself up from Joseph's blood and he _doesn't_ get that stupid green lipstick. It's nice that we got some actual music in this part, since the sound mixing in the original was oddly quiet, although some of the silence _did_ lend itself better to the horror of Dio's power, such as when time froze. I love the way DIO calls out his stand in this dub
Jotaro and dio fighting normal people see: 2 normal person look together and something destroying on air
I love how the final fight of the ova is absolutly better than the DP versions
you ever punched someone's soul in the leg so hard their face exploded?
6:34 how did that aim manage to go to jotaro head😭
"Avenge the deaths of Iggy... and Avdol..."
"And Kakyoin..."
I liked this more!! They really did good! They actually made on screen innocent deaths during this fight!!
I also loved sono chi no sadame still given the recognition! Its like saying "remember! Its JOJO!" Tho jotaro's theme is good too, i really love calling back the past as even part 2 did that with Joseph and Kars. I loved part 2's ending because of that. This wins too!
The 90s arstyle was a masterpiece
As cool as The World noise and effect are, there's something really intimidating about Dio suddenly just up and vanishing.
I mean DIO wasn't lying when he said this was his last time
Am I the only one who likes star platinums design more on the ova than in the recent anime
its cool that they used sono chino sadame since the ova didnt have a soundtrack yet
The fact that dio keeps disappearing without a sound is truly scary and so awesome
14:20 WHAT THE FUCK THIS IS GREAT
OVA is gorier than anime
And I love it
@@HeIsOnExtremeCrack The gore isn’t censored in the dub 😈
Hell nah dio
I love how Dio sounds like Wesker from RE1
Absolute cinema
I love seeing scared Jotaro because In the newest Dio Jotaro fight Jotaro is just angry for some reason.
I died when DIO said "An oil tanker for you"
The ova anime seems to be better than the anime other one!
Because it is! 🤩
Despite it's age, the Voice Actors did a great job here.
