Wow, it's definitely a lot better without the mod. It seems like the mic on the mod picks up a much less on the frequency spectrum which makes for a thinner more tinny sound

Yeah the mod is best with audio mic attached that's the real reason you get it

Thank you for watching!!! The mod is an improvement but a slight one, the real benefit comes from the hotshoe clips and the ability to add your own shotgun mic or lapel mic. I didn't want to take the video down that rabbit hole and it seems like overkill for an action camera

In car, 9 with Mod was best. Surprisingly outside the 7 sounded much clearer.

Yeah the mod to me sounded best overall but not amazing when compared to 7 or 9. Definitely not a massive jump up

Gopro Hero 7 was much better and clear in both cases for me. 7 seemed to have a bigger dynamic range too in the car. But its maybe just my tired eyes. But really helpful video.
Also, I am getting the N/A Input Output error on my Hero7. Would the media mod fix it? I have tried every possible fix.

Try updating software from a micro SD card
