Oh my. This was great. I am now 70 and only do the bare minimum when I go out. My products are probably outdated. Now I know what to shop for. Thank you Marnie. You are beautiful inside and out.
This was so helpful for me. I have sensitive skin and I can't stand anything "cakey" on my face so I haven't worn anything but sunscreen and mascara since the 90's. Lately though, as my skin has aged, I've been feeling like I need to even out my skin tones and add some color. You helped steer me through my Sephora trip. Color corrector, tinted moisturizer, tinted lip balm, my usual mascara, and a little blush was all I needed. Looks much better and it doesn't feel (or look) like I'm wearing makeup. Thanks Marnie!
Thanks, Marnie. I've never worn make up except sun block and lipstick. I appreciate you thinking of people who don't know how/want to bother applying it. Easy to follow.
For me, as a natural redhead, I find it hard to find brow pencils/products that look natural in my brows. SO the "blonde" brow gel from ELF helps cool down the always too warm pencils I find. Maybe if someone comes across this comment and has a brow pencil recommendation for something that's not too orange or warm let me know! Great video as always!
At close to 50, I was just saying the same thing to some people in conversation - that our features are going bye bye. For me, it’s my lip line. I also notice that I don’t look as good in eyeliner and I need to be careful with powders. Ugh! Aging is a privilege, but it sure can stink, 😂This video made me realize how badly I need to step up my brow game, big time.
thank you for doing this!! it reminds me that it doesn’t take a lot of time to achieve a pulled together and natural look. I’ve become too complacent, especially after the last 2 years. Thanks for the motivation to “step it up a bit”.
Thanks. I loved this. Would love another Basics on eyes… how to trim eyebrows; what to do with white brow hairs… color? Pluck? Also, how to choose eye shadow colors and finishes and how to apply for different looks. Smoky and sparkly don’t really work for someone my age.
Loved this video and your product suggestions. I’m 73 and really don’t need or want to put in a fill face of makeup for a few errands. This video showed how to do a little and still look good.
Great video thank you. I am 66 and haven't worn makeup in a very long time. This video is very helpful. I do want to start wearing makeup again as my skin looks so washed out. I have always liked a minimal amount. So this video is perfect. You have brought me up-to-date ! I was thinking about using what I did 20 years ago. 😂🤣😂
Thank you so much for making this video. As a 49 year old woman, I really appreciate someone taking the time to show different ways of doing makeup. Most days the only time I leave the house is for school drop off and pick up but I still want to look good and this was the perfect look. I am interested in skincare since mine has changed thanks to menopause if you would be interested.
A fun video, Marnie! With red hair and pale lashes, mascara is a critical step to make me look awake and like I have lashes - and I actually have a lot, they just don’t show without it! Probably because mascara was the only makeup I was initially allowed to wear as a young teenager, I always put it on first (even before any eye shadow). This approach allows me to be as messy as needed to really go to town with it and make them pop. Because the rest of my makeup isn’t on yet, I can easily take a qtip dipped in eye makeup remover and wipe away all the raccoon-ness I created in my “messy” approach. Never seen anyone else do it in this order but it makes a huge difference for me. If I wait to do it towards the end, I can’t make the same impact because I’m trying so hard to be precise in the application.
THANK YOU Marnie! I’m SO embarrassed that I’ve never learned the basics. With aging dimming eye site doesn’t help either, so this video is lovely. You are the best! 👍
Marnie, thank you so much for the powder foundation tip. I've been using the technique for a couple of weeks and it works great. It looks good and my makeup lasts all day.
Finally we have a realistic 5 minute makeup tutorial! It helps a lot!😘This made me wanna to dump all my eyeshadow and just use the bronzer trick😉. Btw you look beautiful! Happy Thanksgiving! xx
Another HOME RUN on this video Marnie 👏!! I absolutely adore your insertion of humor for everyone to follow along 😊👍. I use the Panasonic electric eyelash curler available on Amazon at a very affordable price point. The traditional eyelash curler totally kicked my butt and won 😏. Oh, btw - love your shirt , went to J.Crew , and apparently everyone loves it too…it’s SOLD OUT 😮!! GREAT video , and as always, on point , approachable, and thoughtful 🤗!!!
Oh Marnie! You speak my language- lots of happy makeup and a good fast routine for low energy days!❤ dark circles, good skin but wrinkles at 66. Transparent eyebrows and lashes, pale lips and redness around my nose, chin and forehead.
Hi Marnie, I enjoyed your minimal make up look. It looks pretty on you. I always appreciate how you use make up to enhance your features and the colors you choose are perfect. Thanks very much. Xo Karen
Great video!! I always try to do a simple makeup look for everyday and then I start veering off into glam mode and the next thing I know, I have spent to much time on what was supposed to be a quick, simple, out the door makeup look. Now I know I can create this look and still look presentable and somewhat glam too!! Thank you for sharing this with us!!
Fabulous! I am a makeup addict. I have tons of products. This gave me plenty of ideas of a more minimal look and routine. I am turning 70 in a week! I have recently been experimenting with being more minimual or natural in my look, using more pale lipstick and less of my signature bright red! My hair is naturally white now. I wore it that way for a year but I don't like white hair! Ugh. Recently colored with a very light blonde and a very red strawberry blonde. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS.
I remember when I was younger and had nearly flawless porcelain skin, and I wore ALL the products. 😂I don't have time for that most days, as I have prioritized my mornings to workout before work. I wear the bare minimum of make up. I have medium brown hair, but I have light brows and lashes. I always wear mascara and usually wear brow gel. I might not do anything to my face, but my eyes always have a little something. I bought the tarte maracuja tinted moisturizer during the recent build-a-bag sale and am trying to incorporate that into my routine more. Also, I love elf brushes for discount store brushes. I probably use them as much or more than my higher end brushes.
I’ve already commented but thank you again Marnie. You’re wonderful! I want to also mention that I would LOVE an eyeliner tutorial ❤I feel very lucky to have found you. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.Thank you so much.
Great tips as always. I just noticed you’ve gotten over 1M views on your “How Not to Look Frumpy” video. I’ll have to go back & revisit that one. Congrats!
Thanks for doing this. I graduated from college in the 80’s and I haven’t changed the way I do makeup. Foundation, powder, blush, a little eyebrow pencil and lipstick. I know I need to update everything but I’m scared. I can see my husband asking me what the brown streaks on my face are if I use bronzer.
I love the suggestions, especially for blush/bronzer. Do you have any suggestions for setting powder? Mine seems to sit on the surface and look unnatural, even when wiped off.
I am running to get the Trish McEvoy NOW! I own all the correctors (Charlotte Tilbury to Bobbi Brown) and have never been happy with the results. Thanks for the tip!
Love this! My fastest face (like a quick trip to Ace hardware or DG for just a loaf of bread) consists of the big 3: Eyebrows, blush, lips, and out the door!
I am new in your channel but have been following for a few weeks now. I love your videos and today's one was fantastic since I wear no wear makeup but with your basic tips I'm going to try. I feel as though you're talking to me. Haha!
Currently the only thing I can use is sigma duo corrector in shade light/med with a tiny amount of CT flawless powder over it, no concealer. I’m looking for something more emollient under the eyes. In your corrector what shade might you suggest, if you are familiar with the Sigma?? Oh wait I just looked they only have three shades to choose from ?
Loved the video. I watched it twice. I want a natural looking makup routine now that I’m more “mature”😂. I am your skin tone and cool undertones and I have some veining issues under the eye and on the lids. I’m going to try your corrector I didn’t see you put anything on your lids until the bronzer at the end What could we do if we need to fix the upper lids too? Same corrector??
Great look and tips!! Love the tilting head down to put on mascara. To be clear...you said you are shade 1 in the Trish McEvoy....is that the same as light beige? They don't have them numbered on the site. Yours looked a bit more peach and the one on their site looks more beige? And...I'm wearing the same top as I type this :) My Marnie top :) ....finally went below 80 so I could wear it! Ha!
Quick question, you listed 3 pressed powders and two blushes. Which of them is your favorite (regardless of cost) for everyday application? Btw, so happy I found you on RUclips!
For pressed powder it’s the one from Make Up Forever. Blush is hard because my preferences change depending on the day and the outfit but I reach for Tarte blushes the most.
Marnie, I'm a basic makeup girl approaching 60. I have a question...if you use the undereye instant eyelift and then put concealer on top of it, does it cover the effect of the eyelift? I'm definitely needing help not to look tired. :)
What moisturizer with spf do you recommend? I have used high end and drug store brands still having trouble finding one I like. My skin is mixed dry and oily. Thanks for your video and have a beautiful day 💜
I loved your specifics about curling and mascara! I want to try the Trish McAvoy brightener. Also the Elf powder foundation...never thought of that like over tinted moisturizer!!! Hope you're having a great weekend 😊 🥰❤️❤️❤️
I struggle applying eye make up now. Since I started wearing specs at 45, now I can't see my eyes well enough without them to apply the mascara or liner. I've tried those makeup specs where you drop down the lenses one at a time, but the frames are just in the way and I can't get the liner or mascara on. Any tips for how to apply when you can't see clearly?
I love my Simple Human makeup mirror. It magnifies but does not distort my features. Really enjoyed this video. I’m a nurse so like to keep makeup for work simple, quick, and natural. 😊
Who here can get ready & do their makeup in 10 minutes but can also totally take 2 hours as well? Enjoyed this!
Me me me!!! 🙃
Haha. When I wore makeup I could get it done but have never been able to get a good concealer with instructions. Thanks for this great video.
❤
Yes! I love that Marnie’s pared down makeup routine gives options to take it to the next level if you’re so inclined. 🤣
Beautiful!!!❤
Oh my. This was great. I am now 70 and only do the bare minimum when I go out. My products are probably outdated. Now I know what to shop for. Thank you Marnie. You are beautiful inside and out.
I have only worn minimal makeup all my life but now that I’m over 60 I realize I need to do something with my face. This is perfect Thank you!
I'm 67 and not inclined to spend much time on makeup. This is EXACTLY what I needed!
This was so helpful for me. I have sensitive skin and I can't stand anything "cakey" on my face so I haven't worn anything but sunscreen and mascara since the 90's. I love the Trish McEvoy eye brightener. Have been using it for years and there is no comparison.

The lips are definitely disappearing on me!
thank you for doing this!! it reminds me that it doesn’t take a lot of time to achieve a pulled together and natural look. I’ve become too complacent, especially after the last 2 years. Thanks for the motivation to “step it up a bit”.
You can do it!

Noted!
Loved this video and your product suggestions. I’m 73 and really don’t need or want to put in a fill face of makeup for a few errands. This video showed how to do a little and still look good.
Love that!

I have lots of skincare videos already on my channel-have a look!!
There are times when I don’t want a lot of makeup on so this video is perfect for me. Thanks Marnie for this tutorial.
You are so welcome!
I’m 50. I like minimal makeup. I did order the Trish M instant eye lift through your link. Thank u for the tips!
A fun video, Marnie!

Most of us do it last because if we’re using eyeshadow it gets all over the mascara.
Very true! I’m definitely doing minimal eyeshadow (with a small crease brush and tiny flat shader brush or shadow stick to keep that controlled).

Thank you!!!
This was perfect! It was exactly what it said it was. Basic. Just enough for everyday! Thank you! ❤
You're so welcome!
WOW! I never thought about bronzer on my eyelids. I’ll be trying that soon.
It’s great for a contour shade even if you’re doing a full face of makeup.
Really liked this, plus the extra little touches.
Could you do a basic skincare video?
Another HOME RUN on this video Marnie 👏!! I absolutely adore your insertion of humor for everyone to follow along 😊👍.

You just described me
Thank you for this video. I now use and I am very happy with the instant eye lift and tinted hydrator.
Hi Marnie, I enjoyed your minimal make up look. It looks pretty on you. I always appreciate how you use make up to enhance your features and the colors you choose are perfect. Thanks very much. Xo Karen
Thank you so much!
Great video for minimal makeup & a beautiful finish. Thanks Marnie 😘
Glad you liked it!!

I use Milani cream blush. It's fab
I have an under active thyroid and I only have a small patch of eyebrows. I struggle every day on doing them. I’ll try your technique. Thanks!
I bought the brow wow on your recommendation and like it better than my high end brow mascaras. So good and only 5 bucks!
It really is a good one!
I like Glossier boy brow. Color gel that holds in place.
Very nice look! I’ve heard to use a clean spoolie to get mascara you’ve accidentally gotten on your face. After its dry.
I remember when I was younger and had nearly flawless porcelain skin, and I wore ALL the products. 😂I don't have time for that most days, as I have prioritized my mornings to workout before work. Great video Marnie! I have very pale and sparse brows, so I definitely have to fill them in, or it looks like I have none!
That makes such a difference!
Congrats!
I still can’t believe it!!
Such a great reminder how to freshen up an everyday look! I love your top, does it run true to size?
Just ordered your earrings from Dean Davidson. Great discount. Thank you Marnie. 😊
Enjoy!
I love this look. This is something I can do! Thank you!!
Yay! Thank you!
You did it again...love love this!! I am always looking for a quick and easy way to look put together without having to spend a lot of time!!😉
I love the suggestions, especially for blush/bronzer. Do you have any suggestions for setting powder? Mine seems to sit on the surface and look unnatural, even when wiped off.
It’s coming on Tuesday-a whole list!!
You look beautiful with minimum makeup!
On Android devices, the caret is no more. It simply says more and you tap on that! This is a recent change.
On iOS, too. The annoying thing is that you have to hit another “more” to get the full view.
I hate that they keep changing things!! That must have happened in the last day!!
Great video! This is my everyday routine.
Love that!
I am light like you and the Loreal balm in the lightest shade pulls orange Just fyi
I am running to get the Trish McEvoy NOW! I own all the correctors (Charlotte Tilbury to Bobbi Brown) and have never been happy with the results. Thanks for the tip!
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you so much for this video Marnie ❤. I’ve shared it with several others including my 14 year old granddaughter 🙋♀️ 💄 💕
You should try Sisley concealer on tube. Magic for mature skin
I bet it’s amazing!
But it is soooooo expensive
I used to use MAC Prep and Prime until I heard you talk about the Trish McEvoy several years ago. I tried it and never looked back! ❤️
It's so good!
This was great-thank you. I love these tips! I’m so bad when it comes to eye brows so I appreciated what you said and demonstrated for the brows
Glad it was helpful!
I love physicians formula cc cream
Love this! My fastest face (like a quick trip to Ace hardware or DG for just a loaf of bread) consists of the big 3: Eyebrows, blush, lips, and out the door!
I’d add mascara! Sounds like a perfect fast face!!
Thank you I so much needed this video 😮over 60 😢❤️🌺🌺
You got this!
Anyone know if a dupe for the TM corrector. It’s so expensive
Wow may have to get that concealer.
Loved this! Thank you.
So glad!
That's a great guide. My eyebrows have been too dark recently!
Very nice and natural, beautiful
Thanks so much! I needed that!
Glad it was helpful!

I like the minimal makeup look, very pretty! Also I've never seen bottom lashes done first, it that so less gets somewhere on the skin?
Marnie have you tried Seint makeup? If you have I’d love to know your thoughts!
I have not.
Now, how do I take care of my skin at the end of the day? Washing, moisturizing for bedtime?
This was super helpful! Thank you, Marnie! Greetings from a fellow SanAntonian!
Well hello!!
Hi. I'm new here. I'm Patricia from RI. Really enjoyed this !!
Thanks Marnie- you always look great . 🙏🇮🇱
Great look and tips!! Love the tilting head down to put on mascara. To be clear...you said you are shade 1 in the Trish McEvoy....is that the same as light beige? Shade 1 is what I linked to on the Nordstrom site
This was a great video. Simple and easy things to do. I think I'm going to pick up the Nivea watermelon.
Hope you like it!
Did you do an evening make up demo?
Great video for everyday. Thanks!
Love this look - thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome!
Great video. Loved the very basic look.
So glad!
I don’t have dry skin but I’m mature. are these powders drying on mature skin??
Quick question, you listed 3 pressed powders and two blushes. Which of them is your favorite (regardless of cost) for everyday application? Btw, so happy I found you on RUclips!
For pressed powder it’s the one from Make Up Forever. Blush is hard because my preferences change depending on the day and the outfit but I reach for Tarte blushes the most.

It only enhances it-kicks it up a notch. It’s an extra step that you don’t have to do!
@@MsGoldgirl thanks! I actually love the idea. :)
I think you look amazing even with a bare face💗
Beautiful look. Thank you 😊
Have you used the Bobbi Brown corrector? If so, how does it compare to the Trish?
It’s too thick for me. It creases.
The reviews say the corrector creases when set. Anyone have this issue? Before I spend the money
Hi Marnie, is your hair layered in front & back? I like the style & it looks so cute on you. Have you done a hair tutorial video on youtbe?
Very pretty and fresh!
Great video! Thanks.
Great video! Thank you!
What moisturizer with spf do you recommend? I have used high end and drug store brands still having trouble finding one I like. My skin is mixed dry and oily. Thanks for your video and have a beautiful day 💜
I don’t-I use two separate products. You won’t get enough SPF in a combined moisturizer.
Love this video
This look is great! I’m 59 I think this would be great for me. I would like to know what you do to your skin prior to starting?
I have a whole skincare playlist and recently shared my morning routine.
You are naturally beautiful 😍
Thank you so much
I just saw a commercial with Kristen Bell and I thought it was you!
I loved your specifics about curling and mascara! I want to try the Trish McAvoy brightener. Also the Elf powder foundation...never thought of that like over tinted moisturizer!!! Hope you're having a great weekend 😊 🥰❤️❤️❤️
I am! Thanks!
Big magnifying mirror!
I love my Simple Human makeup mirror. It magnifies but does not distort my features. Really enjoyed this video. I’m a nurse so like to keep makeup for work simple, quick, and natural. 😊
Trish mcEvoy is now 20%off on their site
Nice!!
Did you make a debut in simple magazine? Looking good! 😜
I wish!
