My favorite memory of JV is his first return to Comerica Park after the trade. Not only did the fans give their former star a standing ovation, Tiger management put together a highlight film of his career to honor him before his start.

To be clear, His comments made in his 2019 Cy Young speech were not wise cracks. He was being sincere. Crediting how they were the 1st team that started using high speed cameras to slow his pitching motion down and pick out any flaw in his mechanics they could find. They also dove way deeper into analytics than Detroit ever did and basically told him to completely stop throwing his 2-seam fastball because his ERA was at it's worst when he threw it instead of his 4-seam.

Idk if I'm missing a lot of details but the body cam of Osuna looked like he was pushing her away, then the cop comes in and he drops his (or her) phone and the wife then picks it up to walk away. He didn't beat the shit out of her it looked to me was a push and fighting over possession of the phone which he easily did without causing her damage . It is a very big stretch to act like those are the same thing, not condoning Osuna actions but come on those arent even close to the same.
If i saw the one stairwell in person im stepping in and kicking that dudes ass immediately, if i saw the Osuna thing first hand id walk on and mind my own business, especially with the other guy friend kinda watching the situation.

Two things on your criticism of Verlander…
    1. He comments on sign stealing are irrelevant. He said it’s bad for the game, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t already on a team doing it. As many players have since come forward and admitted, most teams have been involved in doing the same things the Astros were doing.
    2. The minor league incident was on film and you could clearly see what the guy did. To this day, no one knows what actually happened with Osuna. The charges were dropped, and the woman refused to testify. It’s two completely different scenarios that aren’t dependent on each other.
If you want to talk about hypocrisy, why was ok for the Yankees to acquire Chapman, but so horrible for the Astros to acquire Osuna?

However the American League has had some real flame throwers the last decade and more that’s he’s in the NL with the other 2 best pitchers in our era makes this an even more compelling situation.
