I interviewed Dale Vince nearly 3 years ago. I asked him what he would use for base load power if we got rid of fossil fuels, thinking he might say, 'nuclear'. He said 'we don't need a base load'. We had just come through the legendary COP26 doldrums that paused the country's windmills for the best part of a month, and he blankly denied the need for secure energy to meet our base load.
I was flabbergasted.
It's hard to have a good-faith conversationwith a bald-faced liar. Mr Windy Miller was actually gaslighting me about gas.
This must be shared with everyone. In just 10 minutes sums up the entire net zero lies.
He made no scientific argument about the net zero. His points regarding the billionaire are fair and potentially true but I still did not hear him say anything about how maintaining the usage of oil is good for the environment. People should really look into the numbers before talking about environmental topics. Yes ofcourse theres the economic and human aspect of such a drastic transition no one is arguing against that but can he really suggest an alternative or solutions?

@@allananderson949 what about climate change? Islands in the south pacific are drowning, summer temperatures are getting too high and fires are increasing, desertification levels as well. I work in the environmental field so please explain how to solve/avoid these issues while we keep using oil
@@creakyjoints130 I live in Australia and can tell you fires aren't increasing, it isn't getting hotter and the sea levels haven't risen yet, so I'm not sure where you're getting the islands are sinking from. I live in the outback and we haven't had a really hot summer since 2014. Actually had 2 nights below zero last week

Actually, comedians have always had the function of "speaking truth to power", that is until recent years when some of those comedians were handed the power themselves on the plutocratic platforms of SM and MSM. Oil and gas get the large majority of energy subsidies in the U.K. , despite making 10s of billions in profits.
The taxpayer pays 91% of everything that oil and gas companies spend building new infrastructure. Solar and wind are no longer subsidised.
From the start it was quite obvious they have big money backers because of the coordinated gear they wear and banners they carry and the excessive publicity they get. Now we know who's behind it.
So people are aware but still nothing will be done `I rest my case your honour` , let some other fool decide 🤨🤨
Most of Parliament is also behind them ,just like with Extinction Rebellion .That's why the police let them do their thing and even help them to promote their cause.

Leo, you're saying what we're all thinking, no surprise Dale (the funder) has a huge financial incentive to organise these marches.
Just like the fossil fuel industry has an incentive to lie about the consequences of burning their products.
What's ironic is that the fossil fuel industry has actually admitted that their products are causing dangerous climate change - its literally on their websites - but you are still taken in by their multibillion dollar misinformation campaign which is pushing their science-denying lies.
Mr Vince's Football Club has only one road in which causes no end of traffic on match days. Maybe JSO would like to stop the pollution there.
I was watching a RUclips item about people restoring an old canal up near Stroud. Once restored it will be a great asset for wildlife. To get to part of the canal they needed to cross private land which was refused by the land owner. Guess who the land owner is.

The difference is that the climate movement have the right target in their sites, based on 170 years of science, and the admissions of the fossil fuel industry itself...
I recently visited the low-rent seaside town of Skegness with the children. The most enjoyable aspect of Skeg, for anyone over the age of ten, was its majestic sea view. Not anymore. Now, this view is a tribute to chancers such as Dale Vince and his eco scarf. Dozens of slowly-turning turbines ruin this seascape. These days, there's literally no reason for small, cash-strapped seaside towns to exist. Turbines have ruined them. I guess they could use them to house illegal immigrants, as there's now lots of vacant hotels. Oh, they already do that in Skegness, but that's a very different conversation.

This preoccupation with not dealing with the reason they are protesting is symptomatic of people who can't escape the bubble they are living in and can't think beyond their own rat race lives a feature particularly of those living in the London hamster wheel. The IPCC says we are in the Abrupt Irreversible Climate Change. This is one of the most conservative international bodies on climate change there is and even they say we are on course for oblivion. It's time for people with time to think and absorb the truth to point this painful truth out to working folk everywhere more oil and gas means more death and quicker to it for everyone. Fact.

Wind turbines are "sustainable" in that wind is free. But every turbine will have to be replaced every 20 years. Think of the logistics and waste.

Turbines have 100' of tons of concrete and steel at their base, good luck removing that.
Turbines and solar require a back up system to fill in for when they can't produce enough energy, or not any at all

I was really forced to think after I saw the snooker protest and I have still not found a clear answer to some of the important questions that arose from that man's actions: For example, should the cue ball be cleaned and replaced where it was, or "respotted" within the D?
The commentary on that was hilarious, didn't break character with any form of human emotion whatsoever. The snooker fans did what they do best, starred blankly with their arms crossed.
