This is a Patreon-only deep dive into what the establishment gets wrong about immigration.. I've made it public because it's suddenly more relevant than ever.
The Economist is a good proxy for establishment thinking. It's increasingly leftist and idealistic, and it's very influential. The Economist's main article for the year is on migration, so I've gone through it and broken apart its arguments and assumptions.
Left-wing idealists see immigration as an inherent moral good (diversity=strength, yay!), while politicians see Britain as a banal economic platform and people as GDP-generating nodes, so want a steady supply of cheap labour to inflate the economy.
Both are missing a realistic view of immigration and how some country's shared values and culture give rise to a prosperous, free and pleasant society while others don't.

Right there's your chance. Bar the gate to re-entry. When re-migration comes (and it will come) any "refugee" is either barred from re-entry or, if they've gone "home" for a visit they can be sent back.

I knew two Afghan men, brothers in their 20s who legged it over here to escape the Taliban the first time round, they left their mother behind, they never did try to get her over here, she's the one that should have been let in here not them. all they did was moan that the local council shoved them in a flat together instead of give them separate ones, hated those two absolutely entitled and blind to how good they had it. I couldn't get a council place at all and they got handed one within 6 months, fully furnished too.

I have the unfortunate privilege of being middle class in background, destitute and living in a council house in reality, after being made homeless by a landlady using that nice little legal loophole to reclaim the property without reason. As such, not only do I get to see reality as it actually is, and see how strained and broken basic services are now for those of us at the bottom, but I get to see middle class acquaintances constantly going on about the "far right" and telling me that my neighbour, who bought his council house and always drove a Mercedes, is a refugee - despite them knowing nothing about him.
At university, while in the process of being made homeless, I was being told by middle-class peers that I was a fascist for my concerns.
Now here I sit, trying desperately to sell books that nobody wants to read in an attempt to claw my way out of the gutter, and I can't even vote Reform in the hopes of some change steering this country back in the right direction, because there is no Reform candidate here - probably because the panic-election was specifically designed to prevent Reform from having a full-length campaign.
Incidentally, isn't it about time we put a stop to that? Surely calling a snap election should be for emergencies only - not to wield election timing as a political weapon. Surely calling an early election for political purposes should be considered interference?

Immigration to western welfare societies is a direct economic deficit business because it burdens public services very heavily. In the years 1995-2019, the total cost of immigration amounted to over €400 billion in the Netherlands. Corresponding figures for the UK are probably 3-4 times higher.

It baffles me how the economists can doctor the figures to make it look like mass immigration is a good thing.
Sure, if you bring in even one person, he adds to the state’s economic activity, if only because his hotel has to be paid for, and his free iphone, and his food allowance, and therefore he adds to state GDP. But how is that a good thing if everyone here already has to pay for it? It’s bonkers, makes zero sense.

That's one thing he was correct on. Economic migration destroys families as well as countries.
My country has huge economic emigration which skyrocketed once we joined the EU. The results are:
      - huge decline in local workforce quality and availability due to everyone with a bit of mettle and merit choosing the easy way out and emigrating instead of working hard to better the country and the society;
      - huge decline in number of children; as not only do the women also emigrate and birth children abroad, but the remaining population figures their kids will emigrate and so what's the point of having kids when you won't have a family when you age anyway

15:00 mass immigration causes wage and productivity stagnation whilst exacerbating the housing EMERGENCY and driving overcrowding and lowering housing standards. This is because the Law of Supply and Demand applies to domestic housing and labour supply too.
Mass Immigration is not sustainable in any way, not socially, culturally, economically, or environmentally.

I've also been caught up in traffic jams as well recently, caused by various south Asian people on delivery or passenger peddle rickshaws, on major roads.
It's bad enough having large numbers of people who do not civilly queue for anything, just barging to the front in a free-for-all. Now we have the sort of pavement and road chaos of Islamabad, Mumbai or Lagos.
The 3rd world is chaotic because of chaotic culture, lack of emotional control, impulse control, civility or delayed gratification.
We have collapsed a high trust, civil society by importing chaotic and aggressive cultures, and it will just drag us down to 3rd world conditions, as our morality and civility is dragged down. Perhaps a dystopian cross between Robocop and Haiti.

It's not an accident that westernized countries are desirable to move to, it's a result of superior (not perfect) cultural practices.
Its not that we are fortunate to be born here, it's that we inherited the responsibilities of the people who created these cultures.
Outsiders do not have a right to our prosperity because they did not inherit the responsibilities that created it.
Now if they would like to adopt our responsibilities then we can have a talk about them getting a slice of the prosperity but most of them bring their own cultural attitudes despite them seeing first hand the result of those attitudes.

I'm not against that, but I wonder what has changed and why the leftists are now pro-mass migration to increase the population (especially since it only benefits the capitalists who they hate). Also, right now Australia is facing a similar issue with a muslim MP (Fatima Payman) like the UK with that elected muslim councillor in Leeds (Mothin Ali). Australia has had better control of the borders, but has unfortunately still allowed the ☪️ancer in and allowed it to spread.

Otherwise, the very woke Greens, who used to be less radical, love open borders without any thought of how that will work economically and environmentally, and want the immigrants to be given new housing wherever. That probably means bulldozing a hell of a lot of trees in places like Southeast Queensland. Edit: and Fatima Payman is what used to be called a fifth columnist.
